Lowkey

Summary:

Everyone’s eyes widened like saucers as they realized who the two figures were. It was the housewarden of Savanaclaw—Leona Kingscholar with the housewarden of Pomefiore—Vil Schoenheit, peacefully walking side by side with this weird sense between the two of them.

“Weird…” Azul murmured under his breath as he placed a hand over his chin as if he was trying to figure something out. Meanwhile Kalim was all sparkly as he saw the unusual display of his seniors. “They’re not arguing anymore? Maybe they finally became friends?”

𑁍‎♡·························

Six cases where people suspect something between the housewarden of Savanaclaw and the housewarden of Pomefiore, and one case where everyone confirms their assumptions.

Notes:

Hiiii everyone ⸜(。˃ ᵕ ˂ )⸝♡ I'm finally back after a year !!

I'm so happy to finally be able to write things again but then my school schedule is a lot harder to manage now so this might be my first and last fic for this year (╥‸╥) but I promise that I'm gonna try to write more whenever I got free time. (..◜ᴗ◝..)

Anyways, new fandom Hellooo! I've gotten so obsessed with TWST this past months as well as any ship including Vil. So basically this is for me. I hope you guys enjoy this cringe and badly written fanfic ᓚ₍⑅^..^₎♡

Work Text:

Almost everyone in Night Raven College, especially all the housewardens and students in Pomefiore and Savannaclaw, were not foreign with the scene of the second prince of the savanna bickering with the world-wide supermodel. It was like the day would never be complete without a single petty argument from the two juniors.

But lately, there were some oddities a few close acquaintances of the two housewardens noticed between the two. And it all had started when a little hyena stumbled upon a scene he would never expect in a million years.

“LEONA!” Ruggie’s deafening voice called out as he entered the Botanical garden where his lazy boss usually rested, disturbing the once peaceful ambience of the garden. “Leona, I have your lunch!” Ruggie announced as he neared the bushes of where the lion is always lounging. But to his surprise, he could smell a strange flowery and sweet scent he was unfamiliar with as he peeked through the bushes and saw Leona sitting up with his back resting on a tree.

The younger had his nose scrunched up as he tried to familiarize the scent that seemingly clings to Leona, following the fragrance with his head. He squinted his eyes as he saw a figure making its way out of the garden. He could not exactly tell who it was but he could vaguely see that the figure had a head of golden hair about shoulder length. ‘Huh? Weird…’

Ruggie was confused and wondering at who it was but before he could continue pondering, Leona’s annoyed voice had pulled him out of his mind. “What is it?”

And after that, other students started growing suspicions themselves as they witnessed a change in demeanor for both housewardens.

Epel lets out a groan as he was once again stuck in the dorm cleaning duties rather than training with his spelldrive team. He hated it so much but he could do nothing but to suck it up and do as he was told or else his etiquette and ballet lessons would worsen.

The first year just groaned as he played the conversation he had with his housewarden a while ago in his head as he wiped down the windows on their dorm.

Epel gave himself a short pep talk in his mind as he took a deep breath, walking over to Vil who was sweeping the floor and then bracing himself before he asked politely. “Housewarden, can I be excused from this week’s cleaning duty..?” He had asked, slightly nervous but did not let it show.

“No.” was the only answer he got. Vil didn’t even hesitate or even think of it for a second when he answered.

Epel groaned and lightly kicked his foot on the ground like he’s throwing a tantrum, walking away from the window as he finished cleaning it up. “Everyone has a cleaning duty to do, even I have one to do.” Epel said under his breath mockingly. He then heard a ding somewhere, his brow raising as he turned to look and see a phone abandoned on the table.

It was ringing rapidly, as much as he wanted to ignore it but it was just too damn loud to ignore. And so he walked back to look at it, the ringing had stopped but it was open to its lockscreen. Epel looked and tried examining the wallpaper of the phone’s lockscreen, trying to make a guess at who had left it. But his effort was all in vain as he could not guess who could possibly be its owner.

The background of the phone was seemingly of a jersey or sport uniform that was vaguely familiar to Epel but he just couldn’t exactly know what sport it was. His eyes then diverted from the background to the notifications, specifically a notif at the bottom that had grabbed his attention from the very start.

Lazy Kitty

Oi, queenie are you still…

Epel visibly cringed at the nickname of the person who texted. “That’s some cringey darn nickname. Ah almost felt bad for yah man.” Epel thought before getting startled with the phone ringing once more. He jumped a little but after composing himself, he finally got a little hint on who the phone belongs to… or maybe not?

“It's Rook, wait” He just mentally sighs as his shoulder slumps. “Anyone can have Rook’s number. Ugh, why do ah even care for this dang phone.” He mumbled to himself quietly and was about to leave when he heard the familiar clicking of heels against the tiled floor of the dorm.

Just then, Vil arrived in the lounge and looked around the room until he saw the ringing phone on the table. He strutted over to it and picked it up and answered the call, saying “I found it, I left it in the lounge.” to the other line of the call (who’s most certainly was Rook).

Meanwhile, Epel was left a little surprised that Vil was the owner of the phone and a part of him was also wondering about something. Why was his housewarden’s phone lockscreen background like that? It wasn’t his business to pry on his senior’s personal life but you can’t blame him for being curious. I mean Vil doesn’t really do any sport as far as Epel knows so why is that?

He had seen a purple and some gold on the black clothes with glasses put to the side. “Where have ah seen that combo before…” He continued to ponder until later that night.

The weekend had finally arrived and everyone had plans with their friends to go out and have fun. Rook had also planned a day like that with his Roi du poison even though he had not discussed any of his plans with the latter. But that was how they always were.

But as he entered the room of his housewarden, Vil looked like he already had a plan of his own for the day. Rook was a little surprised as Vil had never mentioned to him about a plan he had for the weekend, and considering Vil tells him everything, it was rather a shocking revelation to him.

“Ah Rook, perfect timing.” Vil said as he saw the bobbed-cut boy in the reflection of the vanity mirror he was sitting in front of. “What hairdo do you think fits my outfit?” He asked as he stood up and turned around to face the latter.

Rook placed a finger on his chin as he looked at Vil’s outfit up and down. Vil was wearing a white poet shirt with lots of ruffles, tucked into high waisted wide leg trousers finished with a black stilettos with red bottoms.

“Any hairdo is beautiful to you, beautiful Vil!” Rook exclaimed in his usual sing-song tone, walking over to Vil and taking his hand into his. Meanwhile Vil just raised a brow as he waited for the answer he was waiting for from the latter. “But I suppose having your hair tied loosely in the back with a few strands to the front will frame your face better, and thus keep all eyes on your fair face.”

Vil let out a giggle at the dramatic answer of his vice housewarden, saying a small thank you before sitting back down in front of his vanity.

“If you do not mind, may I ask what you have planned for today that I was not aware of, Roi du Poison?” Rook asked as he stood behind Vil with his head tilted to the side. Again, Rook did not mind having not known some things about his Roi du Poison and he did not want to pry but it was just unusual for Rook that Vil didn’t tell him about his plans for the weekends.

The way Vil swallowed did not go unnoticed from Rook’s observant eyes. “Well, it was a last minute planning that's why I didn’t really have the time to tell you.” ‘A lie’ Rook had thought as he had seen through it but he didn't dare pry about it, instead he just nodded his head and

smiled at him.

“Then I wish for your day to be exciting and filled with fun, Roi du poison!”

“Thank you, Rook. I’ll fill you in once I come back.”

Meanwhile, Ruggie started his weekend by going to Leona’s room to get his laundry and other tasks for the day. But when he entered the room, he was surprised to see his usually lazy housewarden already up and dressed all nicely for the day.

Ruggie just stared a little dumbfounded and scared as he was not used to seeing this kind of thing from his housewarden. “What are you staring at?” Leona’s low voice pulled the younger out of his thoughts when he turned around and faced the hyena, a scowl on his face while he braids the end parts of his front hair.

“Nothing,” Ruggie said as to try and get himself out of the tight predicament but his curiosity was better than him to make him pry just a little bit. “What has gotten you to dress up so early today? Usually you’re not gonna be up until around noon or something.”

Leona just glared at him a little before closing his eyes. “Family called, need to be there early.”

Ruggie could tell that what the older one had said was an obvious lie, I mean when did Leona ever care about any of his family’s calls? Never, so his excuse is quickly debunked by the hyena. But despite this, Ruggie just stayed silent as he picked up the clothes on the floor. “I expect you to look after the dorm while I’m gone.”

“You got it, boss!” Ruggie answered followed by his usual hyena laugh, “Enjoy your trip, I guess.”

It was Saturday night and the first years had once again decided to hold a slumber party in the dorm of Ramshackles.

They were already setting up a lounge room of the dorm, with a few chaos here and there. Ace, Deuce, and Jack were assigned in cozying up the lounge with all the blankets and pillows they had, while Sebek and Ortho was tasked with handling the movie or series they were going to watch and lastly Yuuri, Grim, and Epel was in charged with their food and drinks.

As they all finished their assigned task, all of them settled down in the comfortable nest like fort the three had built, munching on their snacks and having occasional chat while they watched the movie Ortho had recommended.

Everything was silent until a specific scene reminded Yuuri something that she had been itching to spill to the group. “Guys, I have a question,” She had asked, getting a collective answer of “yeah?” “What is it?” and a hum of acknowledgement. “Have you guys noticed something weird going on with Leona-senpai and Vil-senpai?”

“Oh my sevens. ya noticed too, prefect!” Epel answered like he had been waiting for someone to ask the exact question. On the other hand, Jack just nodded his head in agreement.

Meanwhile, Ace, Deuce, Ortho, and Sebek looked at each other with raised brow before leaning forward to listen as the prefect started her gossip. “I don’t know how to exactly explain it but like, there has to be something going on with those two.” Yuuri said with her head slightly tilted to the side while she glanced at the other boys, waiting for their own opinion.

“Yeah, I guess so,” Jack finally spoke, a little skeptical as he paused for a minute, trying to think if he should say it or not. After a minute or so of contemplating he finally spoke. “Ruggie actually talked to me a few days ago, saying that claw clip hanging from Leona-senpai’s uniform. He told me as far as he knows Leona doesn’t use those kinds to tie his hair.”

Everyone turned their head to stare at Jack with widened eyes and jaw slightly ajar. “Ouii shii.” Yuuri ad-libbed as she let out a laugh, leaning back while she clapped her hand. The others just looked at her with confusion in their faces. “Didn’t know this world also had that kind of ‘territorial marking’” She joked as her laugh intensified.

“The fuck you mean territorial marking?” Ace asked, his face filled with confusion and curiosity as he threw the pillow he’s hugging at the prefect. “What are you, an animal? No offense.” he added, looking at Jack as he said the last part with his hand up before looking up.

“Do you know what the clip looked like?”

“I actually have a photo of it because Ruggie wanted me to ask around.” Jack said as he pulled out his phone from his pockets, searching through his gallery before turning the screen towards the others.

In the picture was a medium sized claw clip with light purple flower decorating it and a thin chain dangling from it with a small charm at the end of it. The six boys examined the picture, trying to characterize the claw clip (despite already having a thought in mind as to who the owner of the clip is).

“I’ve seen something similar to that.” Epel said as he leaned back, everyone’s attention shifting from Jack to him in mere seconds. “I saw one in Vil-senpai’s vanity when he invited me to do a face mask with him and Rook-san.”

“That reminds me of something,” Ortho finally said, everyone shifting in their seats as they knew it was about to get real. “One of my cameras around the school, the one in the mirror room, caught something like, a few hours ago.”

“JUST A FEW HOURS AGO??!”

Ortho nodded and he began to project the thing he caught in his camera. To say the least, the first years spent their evening gossiping and making conspiracy with their seniors as well as betting on who might be dating or at least talking to each other.

It was already deep into the night as the second years were out and about with a new shenanigan. Riddle was reluctant to join as he would be breaking a rule if he did so but Floyd didn’t give him any choice when he got carried out of his dorm room against his will. Jamil was also there, begrudgingly, as Kalim had been one of the most excited to night out. Meanwhile, silver and Ruggie just happily tagged along while the Octavinille trio was more than happy to do whatever they had planned.

“If we get caught, I’m offing all of your head.” Riddle whisper-shouted to the group while also trying to keep everyone (mostly Floyd and Kalim) quiet the entire time.

“Ehh? You’re no fun goldfishy.” Floyd teased while moving closer to the red-head, poking the shorter’s cheek whilst he giggled loudly. “Come on loosen up, no one will see us.” Riddle just let out a groan as he lightly pushed off the taller boy from him, his brows furrowed as he just crossed his arms.

The group just continued to walk to wherever without clear indication on what they were going to do, that is until they stopped as they saw two figures walking side by side on the main street. “Guys hide, someone’s coming.” Ruggie warned while he jumped behind the bushes, pulling Kalim with him while the others followed him into hiding.

“See! I told you guys this is such a bad idea! What if someone snitches on us and we get in trouble for sneaking out past curfew—” “Shhh!” Riddle’s rumbling was interrupted as Jamil placed a hand on his mouth. The voices of the two figures slowly became audible as they grew closer to the group.

Out of curiosity, Floyd slightly peeked his head out of the bushes to look at who the two people were, he then let out a noise as he looked back at the others. “Heyy, isn’t that sea lion and beta fish?” The group quickly pulled him back down to the bushes to hide when they realized what he had just done.

“Who?” Ruggie asked, curiosity getting the best of his as he took a peak as well. Who then was followed by Kalim, Floyd, Jade, and Azul. The rest just looked at them with a sigh and then to one another with a knowing look. Jamil gestured with his head and the last three finally followed the rest.

“I don’t think that’s what…” Ruggie trailed off his words as he squinted his eyes as he watched his housewarden walk and talk comfortably with the boy he had called drama queen and a pain in the ass before, the gears in his head turning as he slowly realized something.

But before he could voice out his thoughts, Leona had turned around with a glare towards the bushes where the second years were hiding. “Is something wrong?” Vil asked as he cocked a brow up, stopping in his tracks and looking at where the older was glaring.

“Nothing, probably just the wind,” The lion replied while he put his hands inside his pockets as he looked back ahead. “Let's get back, it's getting too late.” Vil just stared at him for a moment before nodding and walking once again. Leona kept his gaze at the bushes for a few moments before he was far enough.

Meanwhile, the second years were holding their breath as they hid. Only releasing it when they were sure that the two housewarden were far away from them. “That was a close one…” Jamil said as he took in deep breaths.

“That was really weird,” Azul started, a smirk slowly tugging on his lips as he glanced at everyone. “They seem so awfully close, don’t you guys think?” he added as he gave them a knowing look.

Monday arrived and everyone went to their class as the bell rings. Unfortunately for the third years, they had P.E class at the time where the sun was up and about.

“Alright boys!” Professor Vargas’ booming voice caught all the attention of all the very tired and sweaty third-years, “All of you can go have a ten minute break! But after that, back to formation!” All the boys lets out an exhausted groan as some of them slump on to the ground,

Meanwhile, Cater had his eyes squinted as he observed something, his phone already in his hand just right after Professor Vargas called for a break. He had not ignored his exhaustion plus the way he was sweating all over. “Something wrong?” A soft voice said beside him as a water bottle was handed to him.

Cater looked away from the person he was observing to look at the person standing beside him just to come face to face with Trey. “Thankies.” Cater said as he accepted the water bottle and started quenching the thirst he had ignored. “Also no, I’m just trying to see something.”

Trey raised a brow as he followed Cater’s gaze before letting out a chuckle as shook his head. “And that is?”

“I overheard the freshies a few days ago about something and I wanted to know for myself if its true.”

Trey didn’t exactly know what to do at the moment so he just stood there beside Cater. But after a few minutes, he felt someone grab his wrist. “You know what, come with me.” Cater said whilst he dragged Trey towards someone, his grip on Trey’s hand was surprisingly tight. “Uhm, okay..?” was all Trey could say.

“Rook! Vil!” Cater called out as he approached the two blond boys, a big smile over his face as he waved at them.

“Ah, Bonjour monsieur magicam, chevalier des roses!” Rook greeted the two as well when they approached, while Vil only nodded his head at them. Vil was holding a parasol above his head to shield him away from the heat of the sun and also because he does not want a tan specially because he had a shoot this week. “Anything we could help you with?”

Cater shook his head as he let go of Trey’s wrist, standing beside the boobed-cut man. “No nothing, we just wanted to say hi.” Cater said before awkwardly just standing there and keeping his smile. Trey could only hold his chuckle in at how awkward it was. It didn’t even last any more seconds when Cater finally leaned slightly towards Rook. “Actually I have a question for you.” he whispered to the blondie, taking a glance at the other to make sure he was not listening before he said anything more.

Rook leaned closer as well, a hand over his mouth as he listened. Vil on the other hand had noticed and became curious but kept it to himself as he was sure Rook would just tell it to him sooner or later. “Okay so, a little birdy had told me something and I just wanted to, you know, confirm if it's true.” Rook raised a brow, interest and curiosity spelled out on his face as he waited for the ginger boy to continue.

“Well, here it is. Is there something going on between Villy-po and Leona-san?”

The two were silent for a moment, making Cater a little nervous thinking he had overstepped his limit, but his anxiety was quickly swept away when Rook spoke. “To be honest, monsieur magicam, neither do I know it.” Rook said in a defeated tone, a frown on his face as he shrugged his shoulders.

Cater also pouted his lips as both of them straightened up, crossing his arms over his chest. He stared from afar as he tapped his foot on the ground, trying to figure out everything. When he had overheard the first years talking about something, they had seemed so confident with their theory. They might’ve had a very strong proof if even Rook didn’t know the answer.

The three had just continued to stand there quietly until they realized that the Pomefiore was not standing with them anymore. “Where’s Vil-san?” Cater asked as he looked at the side where Vil used to stand beside Rook, his brows furrowed as he moved his head trying to find that blond faded to lavender head of hair.

“Right there…” Trey said as he pointed in a direction, Rook and Cater followed where the green haired boy was pointing. They raised their brows before breaking into a smile and staring at each other to give one other the knowing look as they had realized who’s direction Vil was going.

Vil had left Rook side a few seconds ago while he was distracted with Cater as he saw something that irritated him a little. He slowly approaches the Savannaclaw housewarden with a slightly annoyed attitude. “Seriously?” He had said. Leona slightly turned around to look at him with a raised brow but he didn’t say anything as Vil started gathering his hair into his hands.

“With a weather this hot, you’re gonna be stinking with sweat for the rest of the day,” Vil said as he used his fingers to comb through Leona’s dark thick hair whilst trying his hardest to hold the hair he was gathering in one hand. Meanwhile, Leona just started whistling a song as Vil scolded him, putting his hands inside the pockets of his pants as he did so. “You should tie your hair, they’re seriously such a pain to deal with whenever they stick to your body with sweat.”

“If you’re that irritated with my hair then you tie it.” Leona said teasingly as he pulled off the black hair tie that he wears around his wrist at all times. “Also,” Leona had started once again, reaching a hand to hold some of Vil’s hair, “You should follow your own advice, queenie.”

Vil had only rolled his eyes at Leona before he finished tying the lion’s hair, giving his hair a flick before turning back to return to where he once was beside Rook only to find a really weird scene in front of him. “Beaute! 100 points!” Rook shouted loud enough for Vil to hear while he claps his hands, Cater had his phone out and seemed like he was taking a photo or a video while it was pointed at him and Leona while Trey just stood there with a smile over his face and a thumbs up in his hand.

The blond’s face heats up with embarrassment as he had realized that they had probably witnessed his entire exchange with Leona. Vil lowered his head as he let out a groan, slightly humiliated as he could feel more eyes looking at them. He wasn’t feeling embarrassed because of the thing he did in public that possibly many people had witnessed but because of the way his friends were acting right now.

But as he lamented, Vil felt a shadow casting over him. He looked up to come face to face with Malleus Draconia, housewarden of Diasomia. Vil wondered when he had approached him but didn’t voice it out as Malleus had spoken first. “Shoenheit,” he had started, his voice deep

enough to scare other students.

“Yes?” Vil asked, unsure what the prince had wanted.

“Can you also tie my hair?” Vil froze at the request of fae. Just now, Vil had thought that Malleus sounded like a kid who wanted to have the same thing as their friend and he didn’t know whether to laugh or cry at that. “Sure, I think I still have a spare hair tie here…”

“Oi, lizard.” Leona’s voice then interrupted them, a scowl on the lion’s face as he approached them. “You have your own hand, tie your own hair yourself.” He said as he got in front of Vil. The dragon fae only ignored the lion beastman as he turned around and slightly adjusted his height for Vil to start tying his hair. The blond had only given the lion a look before he started tying his hair.

𑁍‎♡·························

“So it's true that you two are secretly seeing each other?” Cater asked seriously as he looked at Vil and Leona alternatively.

“I mean, it's not really a secret. Just private, I guess.” Vil answered. They had already finished their P.E. classes before they could leave, Cater had blocked them and started interrogating them. They were now in the almost empty cafeteria with only a few students from different dorms sitting far away from them to hear their conversation so it was all okay.

“Why is this even a big deal?” Leona asked as he let out a yawn, raising a brow as he looked at the ginger man sitting across from him with a scowl on his face.

“Are you seriously asking that?” Cater asked, staring at the lion blankly with a stare that read ‘Do you seriously not get it?’. And when he got no response from the older man he just scratched the back of his neck as if irritated and let out a whine.

Trey and Rook just let out a chuckle at the frustration of Cater, both of them just choosing to stay silent while Carter handled it on his own.

“I do not like and subscribe to this.”

Vil and Leona only watched as Cater mentally tried to compose himself in realtime, glancing at each other to see if the other had a question as to why this was even happening but to no avail so they both just shut their mouth and waited for the ginger to ask another question or something.

“Okay,” Cater started as he finally pulled himself together. “So let me get this straight. You two had been dating for a while now, right?”

“Yes, almost a year now.” Vil answered him.

“And it was never really a secret? Just private?”

“Yes, we’ve said that already.” It was now Leona’s turn to answer.

“And you two didn’t even bother to say anything to your friends?”

“I mean, no one ever asked so we didn’t really see the reason to tell it to anyone.”

Cater stared at them for a moment before shrugging his shoulders. “Touche, I guess.” he said as he had finally calmed down. Wow, who would have guessed that he would be this stressed over someone else’s relationship, he doesn’t even know why he was so pressed about it a while ago either. But considering that Leona and Vil are known as people who can’t stand each other could be the reason or the fact that they could be the hottest couple in the school, Cater doesn’t really care anymore.

“But seriously, how are you two so good at hiding it? Not even Rook knows about it.” Trey finally spoke after a while, tilting his head as he wondered.

“No? I’ve informed him like, days ago.” Vil answered along with a shrug in which Rook just happily confirmed it by saying he had known but didn’t want to pry on his Roi du Poison’s life that’s why he just always says he didn’t know.

“Also since we’ve been talking since Vil was a first year so I don’t really see any big deal.” Leona casually said like he didn’t just drop a bomb of information.

The two third-year of Heartslabyul stared with wide eyes at the lion before looking at the blond. “Technically, we were not dating at that time. We were mostly just lowkey.”

“I wouldn’t have guessed you two were already lowkey with how much you two looked like you wanted to cut each other’s throat…” And that day Cater learned to never truly judge a book by its cover.
