Chapter 1
Coco sat on her desk book in hand.. her eys wide as sparks emerged from the drawing before the light slowly faded away.. as it did a small smile formed on her lips letting out a small chuckle " oh my God.. " she whispered placing the small pen down onto the desk , pushing her chair back as she stood " oh my God it worked" she muttered voice soft and quite... Coco stared wide at the paper blinking as if it would disappear before her eyes. She then jumped around eyes wide and full of wonder. " it worked it did magic" she exclaimed trying to be as quite as she could.. as she came to a stop her exitment replaced with worry " oh no" she muttered quickly shutting her book as she realised what she did.. " i wasn't supposed to do that." She whispered placing the ink cap back to the pen, she placed the paper into her draw and placed the book back onto its self. Blowing out her light and heading to bed..
as she did Qifrey flew past stopping when he noticed the house was quite.. no lights were on telling him they had all fallen asleep " maybe I'm over thinking this" he whispered landing before the door handle raised to nock but stopping .. " ill come back tomorrow it'll be fine to wait" he reassure himself as he lunched i to the sky heading back to to his little camp site.. as Coco laid in bed her mind refused to fall asleep.. mind racing as she realised what she just discovered.. " magic is drawn" she whispered as she laid from bed after a while Coco began to toss and turn in her bed.. " ugh" she growned hands reaching over her faces as she laid flat on her bed..no matter how much she tried her mind couldn't stop thinking about the ideas, the possibility, all of it .
Coco let out a huff before pushing her blanket back. She reached for the candle next to her bed, grabbing a small match and lightning it illumating the room with the candle light, Coco walked over to her desk candle light in her hand ,setting it down on her desk quitely trying to make little noise. Coco opened her draw taking out the wand and pulling the picture book from the shelf, she set down the book opening it up to the first page. Coco finger brush over the outline tracing it with her finger, she reached into her draw pulling out pices of paper placing next to the book pulling the ink bottle of the wand and placing it down onto the paper. Coco's movement were slow and steady constantly pausing and placing at the book before continuing as she traces the sigil in the book. As Coco connected the outer ring of the spell it began to glow. Cocos eyes wide as the spell activated, a small flame emerged from the spell hovering above the paper defining gravity. Coco smiled as she stared in amazement at the spell. Coco reached and hand out swigging in the space between the paper and the floating fire ball. " OW!" Coco whispered pulling her hand back as her finger accidentally touched teh flame . Coco grabbed her hand wincing from the pain before looking down at her hand. Her finger tips were burnt slightly, Coco grimace at the sight, she hand touched fire frome a candle before but it never burned that fast or that bad. Was it because it was magic? , or is it just that hot? Coco wondered Coco reached for the paer breaking the outer ring.. as she did the flame disappeared causing the room to room to dim.
" ok, note to self don't touch " Coco whispered smiling ear to ear. " magic is drawn" she muttered still trying to wrap her head the realisation. Coco began to practice more and tracing the spells untill.
Coco turned a page seeing a spell marked with a dragon under it. Coco hummed as she examined the spell , it was different. More advance it had more components then the other spells Coco tilted her head before placing a pice of paper next to the page and began tracing. Every line every mark as she did a dark feeling wrapped around her. Coco pens brushed against the paper as the connected the outer ring....
Coco leaned back in her chair.
Coco eyes narrowed tiling her head as she stared at the spell in confusion.
" did i do something-" he muttered leaning closer.
Sudden a sharp of blue crystal shot out of the spell. Coco had barely anytime to react as a large sharp came shooting towards her.
A sharp scream echo thru the home as Coco stumbled back left hand pressed tightly against her left eye blood dripping from her eyes. Coco eyes wide from the pain and fear , as she stumbled backwards Coco grabbed the book and pen with the ink bottle. As she stumbled back. The crystals began to engulf the room spreading with a unnatural speed Coco began to back away. Her hand brushing against the handle to the sky window.. wasting no second Coco pushed the lach off and kicked the window open. Coco stumbled onto the roof tripping over to stone tiles of the roof, blood dripping onto the roof as Coco stumbled across. Coco eyes scan the room looking for a lader. The crystal began spending to the roof caughting up to the girl. As Coco moved closer to edge her foot stepped onto a puddle of blood causing her to slip. Coco tumbled of the roof back smacking into the ground causing a lound thud, the book pen and ink bottle scattering across the groundas Coco fell . Coco let a small muffle cry as pain shot thru her back, she girl pessed her eyes closed her breath coming in ragged gasps as her lungs refused to take the air , pain shot thru her body making her curl into her slef trying to hide from the pain.
" COCO!"
Coco eyes snapped open a soft hand pressed to her side. Her vision blurred near the end as she tried to focus. Her mother was crouching down next to her lanter raised illumating the area. Coco let a.muffled wimper pain shooting thru her body as she tried to move. A raw and painfull cry escape her lips as she pushed her body upwards despite her mothers protest not to . Coco vision began to shake making it hard for her to focus. Coco eyes drifted up meeting her mothers gaze. Her mother eyes were wide and distorted.
" mother! Behind you!" Coco grasped.
Her mother turning around as the blue crystals caught towards her snagging the edge of the clothes spreading across. Her mother pulled as hard as she could trying to escape the crystals to no avail. Coco stared wide eye at her mother tears dripping down her cheek her hand still pressed tightly against her eyes blood mixing with her tears.
" mom.." she whispered voice small and near the edge of breaking.
" her mother turned to face her, a soft smile forming on her face as the crystals began to engulf her. Using her free hand she brushed her finger against Cocos check tears dripping from her eyes. Coco breath began to breaking into small gasps as she clucking her mother hand squeezing tightly not wanting to let go. " it ok dear." Her mother uttered. She crystal spreading to her face.
Coco stared wide eye as her mother began to turn into stone infront of her eyes. " sorry.. I'm sorry sorry " she gasped.
Coco sat there , wind brushing against her skin. Blood dripping from her eyes. Light blue shars embedded into her skin and eye. Her golden eyes meeting the lifeless stone eyes of her mother. Lanter in hand , the other reaching out to give comfort to her daughter. Coco sat there for hours the night sky only being illumated by the moon. Coco eyes were now a hallow messes the once bright eyes now a hallow void reaching her soul. Coco hand clenched around the soil finger digging into her palm drawing small drips of blood.
Coco eyes drifted to the picture book, discard on the ground cover in distance and dirt. Coco shifted reaching for the book taking into her hand. Coco fingers traced the leather marking of the book. Her eyes blank and absent of that journey she felt. Cocos tears clung to her skin haven long past stopped, she opened the book a small creak echoing from the book as Coco turned the page. Landing on the spell that caused all of this. Coco stared at the page for hours mind empty and blank. " ill fix this" she finally spoke voice horse and broken turning back towards her mothers crystaled form. " ill fix this, I'll fix you. " she whispered voice determined as she stood up swaying as she failed to keep her body upright. Her knees wobbling, Coco stumbled over to ground scoping her pen and bottle of ink from the floor. As she inspected the liquid flowing in the bottle the wind shifted. Sensing something wrong Coco dashed towards the woods crouching into a brushs to hide.
The wind picked up as a figure flew into the air. Coco squinted as she tried to see the figure flying in the air. The figure began to decend to the ground feet separating apart and Coco could sworn she saw a sigil glowing from teh soul of the shoe's. The figure looked upon the crystal remains of her house cloak blowing thru the wind. Coco could make out a hat placed on the figures head. Coco shifted as she recognised them.
' it's that witch from earlier! What was his name? ...Qifrey! .... wait.. why is he here?! ...'
Coco mind wondered sensing something was off Coco began to back deeper into the woods. Qifrey stared wise eyed at the houses eyes drifting to the crystal figure crouched down out side. Qifrey walked towards the figure. Crouching down and inspecting it " Forbidden magic " he muttered so low Coco almost didn't hear it. His finger brushed the blue coloured crystals " wait." He paused snapping upwards and scanning around frantically, Coco pressed her body deeper into the ground concealing her more. " this is the mother weres the younge girls?" He asked voice frantic his cloak pushing into the wind as he pressed his feet together shotting into the sky in with emance speed. Coco let out a small yelp that luckily the witch didn't hear. Qifrey flew into the air scanning for any sign of the tailors daughter.
Coco stated wide eye at the scene eyes drifting from the witch back to her mother. Her lifeless eyes piercing into Cocos soul. " ill save you, " she muttered before drifting deep into the dark forest.
"Just wait for me" she muttered before being engulf into the forest.
