Sunflowers weren’t a great present for America’s birthday. But Russia of course needed to give him those flowers in the old elevator.
2002
An American entered the elevator. This was probably not a good idea.
Russia was always a very… complicated person. He always had that weird smile for everyone, and those eyes with no emotions. He also was a polite man and he called almost every countryhuman “sir” or “madam”.
And he of course needed to be in that same elevator.
“Good morning”
“Good morning, sir America”
Russia shyly smirked at the US.
“Happy Birthday to you, sir America” he said too.
The US winced when he noticed a wonderful present from Russia.
“Sunflowers. Amazing” America muttered.
Of course, he wasn’t a bad guy and didn’t throw away a present, but… He still didn’t like those flowers.
“I hate sunflowers” he sighed “They remind me about USSR”
A silence. They very much wanted to leave that freaking elevator.
“I don’t think that the USSR liked sunflowers, sir America” Russia looked calmly at the US, when the elevator terribly groaned “He would like cornflowers. Or roses”
“Roses? You’re kidding me, that fucking guy hated roses. He even said that to me, when I gave him those flowers!”
The elevator again creaked, and stopped moving.
“Oh. I am sorry, sir America” he again smirked.
The US never said that loudly, but Russia had very nice smiles.
“Kiddo, why are you calling everyone so formal? You are in G8, you have the most powerful weapons and friends like China and Canada” US asked, and of course he made a face when he just noticed that the elevator didn’t move.
“The elevator isn’t working. I will make a call to Candy, sir America” Russia didn’t answer the question.
America didn’t smile back when that weird Russian obviously was smiling like a psychopath.
“I don’t like that you are so friendly to my brother” Russia’s smile vanished, when he heard that.
“I am sorry, sir America” he replied gloomily and tried to call Canada.
“I think that you are a manipulative guy”
The phone ringtone was very annoying.
“I am sorry, sir America”
Nobody called back.
“Canada is busy now”
On Russia’s face, there were no emotions.
“You are right, sir America”
The atmosphere was nervous.
“You sometimes are very similar to the USSR. Especially when you are angry”
This wasn’t a good theme to talk about, but America didn’t mind that.
“What… What do you mean, sir America?” he asked with a spark of irritation and curiosity.
“USRR also loved being that polite, quiet guy. And he also was… very…-”
“Sapid? That sapid, that you were sleeping with him, sir America?”
Russia absolutely adored America’s baffled look.
The US at that moment wanted to just go away and never talk back to Russia. But the elevator wanted something else.
“...Is someone told you that you are fucking annoying?” The American questioned and leaned against a wall.
“...Maybe, sir America” he smirked, like it was only a good joke.
The elevator moved with some terrifying sounds, like from horror movies.
“Oh my god, finally it is working!” America loudly said to himself.
“Amazing, sir America” Russia sighed.
They quickly left the old machine and looked at themselves for the last time.
“By the way, terrible present” US mumbled quietly.
“Thank you, sir America”
“But still, thanks”
Russia just laughed after those words, maybe with a small blush on his face. And America liked that laugh. Although from that weird, shy Russian.
