"Aurynn Sumner! What did you do?!" Saedie and Gwen turned to their sibling at the same times.
Illyrio turned to Oz. "Run!" They whispered more harshly but still in the airy style in which they spoke. They went in one direction while Oz went in the other.
Unfortunately for Oz, on either side of them appeared their elder sisters. Arms folded. Eyes narrowed. Saedie and Gwen stared them down.
"What did you put in the drinks, Oz?" Saedie inquired.
Oz shrugged. "I don't know what you're talking about." They tried and failed to sneak between the two.
Gwen moved to step into his path. She rolled her eyes. "We all know something did that." She pointed to Tizzy, Toni, and Willow dancing in circles with silly grins on their faces. "Or that." She gestured to Cricket, Siggy, Dusty, and Cory climbing on anything and everything they could.
Oz struggled to stifle their laguhter. "Siggy and Cricket would probably act that normally."
"Not the point!" Gwen and Saedie said in unison.
Oz searched the room for any sign of Illyrio hoping they had a plan to get out of this, but they were nowhere to be seen…at least not at first. It was on their pass back across the room, that they found him hiding near the far corner. Illyrio had their signature dreamy look in their eyes, but when Oz met their gaze they gave them a subtle wink.
Saedie gave an exasperated exhale at the lack of response from her younger sibling. "Your partner in crime has already left you behind. What did you put in the drinks, Aurynn?" she asked again.
Oz gave an apologetic smile. "It's nothing bad…but I also don't know what it is…"
"What do you mean?" Saedie continued. "Who knows what it is?"
Oz took a half step back. "Jodi was experimenting…" They took another half step back.
Gwen gave them a stern look, but mostly she was trying not to laugh at the sight of her girlfriend dancing and singing. "Is there an antidote or something?"
Oz shrugged. "That's a question for Jodi I'm afraid."
Saedie stepped towards them. "Then you're going to be asking." She went to reach for their arm at the same moment they vanished from sight.
About fifteen feet behind their sisters, Oz reappeared. "Sorry," they smiled apologetically before vanishing once again.
Gwen and Saedie tried and failed to follow their footsteps. Illyrio and Oz gone. Gwen sighed. "I'll find the sending stone for Jodi," she said as she walked off towards the study.
