Chapter Text
Valentine sat on the floor of him room, finishing some notes for Spelldon. The warlock had left a few days prior to reconnect with his mother and sister on Aeaea.
Valentine had just finished drawing a diagram for bite-olgy when his iCoffin started to vibrate in his back pocket. The Vampire pulled it out, smiling after seeing the contact ID. He answered, but Spelldon spoke first.
“Hey, Val!” Spelldon greeted on the other end, smoothing out the fabric of his Chlamys.
“Heya Spell. I was just finishing some notes for you. I can’t wait for you to be back tomorrow!” Kieran said cheerfully, putting away the papers he had been working on.
“Same. It’s been a little more hectic than usual here.”
Valentine hummed in response, waiting for an explanation.
“Casta found a cat. Like, a big cat, and we can’t find its mother. It’s safe in the temple now, but I was wondering if it would be okay for me to take it back to live with us for a bit?”
On the other end of the call, Valentine lit up. They had been thinking about getting a pet, and had made sure their apartment was pet friendly before they even thought about buying.
“Yeah! Of course! I’d love to help you out with that, Spell!” Kieran exclaimed, taking the phone to bed with him.
“Thanks, Val. I can’t wait to see you tomorrow. I’ll try to be back before lunch, mkay?” Spelldon asked, getting ready to end the call. He normally took his trips to Aeaea without his phone, but he’d started packing it once him and Val were official.
“I miss you. I can’t wait for you to be back! I love you!!” Valentine said with a little smile, turning over in bed to plug in his iCoffin.
“I love you too!” Spelldon said affectionately, hanging up the call. Spelldon checked to make sure the cub was comfortable in the makeshift makeshift bed they’d made out cloth before heading to bed himself.
Hours away, Valentine wiped off his makeup and changed into new pajamas, striped white and light pink Spelldon had bought and gifted him when they bought their apartment. He turned on his alarm and off his phone, going to bed.
