Accidents

Summary:

Tobio and Shoyo are arguing, like always. But this time it turns into an accidental kiss? The kiss just leads the two into realizing they have feelings for each other, and the two stupid teens are horrible at expressing their feelings. But, yet, they cannot resist each other, like always.

Notes:

Ok so I lied in my other fic saying that I wouldn't probably post because I would be busy but here we are. I made this up in my head so if it sucks, I am so sorry. I'm still figuring out the plot but I wanted to get the first chapter out. Anywayssss, I hope you enjoy this. Also critiques will be appreciated:)

Chapter 1: Chapter 1

Chapter Text

Shoyo and Tobio were fighting again. It was just a three-on-three match. Kageyama, Shoyo, and Ennoshitta were on the same team. They were going against the new first years and seeing how good they work together. But rather, they were just getting a taste of how Kageyama and Shoyo fight.

Hinata accidentally missed the set and Kageyama got pissed because he knew Shoyo could get that one. Hinata was making up excuses but he also knew it was just his fault. His timing was wrong. Usually, Ennoshitta would just stop them, but this time they all just watched the two bicker. Kageyama was all up in Shoyo's face, and the ginger just kept throwing insults that were just wrong and uncalled for. But it was development for their friendship.

"Um, should we stop them?" One of first years asked, Tsukishma answered, who was on their team. He shook his head, adjusting his glasses.

"No, get used to it." He blandly said. Ennoshitta just had his hands on his hips, staring the two down. He was hoping his mom-like glare would stop the two, but they were too far into this now.

"Well, Bakaeyama! You're always so nonchalant! Show emotion some times, and then maybe I'll appreciate your sets!" Hinata shouted.

Tobio was grabbing Hinata's hands, he wasn't so sure what he was trying to do with him, push him over? It didn't matter much to the setter because Hinata kept pushing back, so Tobio of course had to push back even harder. He wasn't going to loose to the shrimp. Even though the so-called 'shrimp' actually grew more in height. He still wasn't close to Tobio's height at all, though.

"When did my emotions play into this, Dumbass!? That was such an easy set, Yachi could've gotten it!" Tobio retorted. Poor Yachi jumped, thinking she had to do something, but the mention of her went away quickly when Shoyo almost pushed Tobio onto his ass.

"Okay you two, that's enough." Ennoshitta said, walking closer to the two.

Kageyama tightened his grip on Shoyo's hands, pushing him backwards this time. Ennoshitta was yelling at them, but Tobio wasn't listening. His mind wasn't really on his argument with Shoyo either. He noticed Shoyo's face looked different. Maybe it was just that Shoyo was growing. With all of their competitions, Shoyo was determined to beat Tobio in almost everything. Tobio was always stronger than Shoyo, but recently, Shoyo seemed to be getting stronger. Kageyama didn't know if the Shrimp was working out with weights or what, but he had grown muscle. Tobio can't lie, Shoyo was getting attractive, and more people started to notice him, even Kageyama. A conversation between two girls kept popping up in his head.

---

"Hey, have you seen Hinata lately? He honestly looks amazing." One girl said.

"Oh hell yes. All that volleyball training is giving him muscles. I wouldn't say I'm into gingers, but Shoyo is the expectation." The other said.

He's my expectation too.

Kageyama thought before he mentally smacked himself. He's not gay or anything, so why was he getting these weird warm feelings that curl inside his tummy and it wouldn't leave. He tried to make it leave, but it just wouldn't work. His mind kept going back to those dark brown eyes, how when the sun hits them, it becomes a warm color. How all the freckles on his face seem to stand out whenever he was smiling too hard. The way his hair looks like fire curling around his head whenever the sun hits it right.

Tobio smacked his head against the desk, gripping his head like he can take the thoughts out. He heard the two girls giggle at him, but his mind was filled with Shoyo. Stupid Shoyo!

---

"Kageyama!" Ennoshitta yelled. Tobio blinked hard and he looked at a frustrated Shoyo in front of him. Oh right, they were fighting.

It seemed like Shoyo was trying to get the upper hand. He kept moving his feet, getting closer to Kageyama. He glanced back at Ennoshitta, who was about to grab him when his feet was taken out from underneath him.

Tobio yelped and landed on top something. The thing yelped as well. His hands hit the ground a bit harder than he wanted it to. It made a loud smack noise the made the entire gym silent. His face was pressed up against something warm. His lips were pressed against something warm and soft. Tobio thought it was actually kinda nice.

Wait a minute...

Tobio thought to himself.

If I fell ontop of something then that means....

His eyes flew open to see that he was indeed ontop of Shoyo, their faces very close together. And the lips that he was basically kissing was Hinata's.

Kageyama let out a werid shout, yelp thing. He scrambled off of Hinata, putting at least three feet between them. Hinata's eyes were already open when Kageyama opened his. How long were we doing that?

Kageyama thought. He tried to ignore the weird warm feeling boiling in his stomach, and the heat that was quickly climbing up his neck. Tobio hated getting flustered because he always got flustered so easily. But anyone would be flustered if they accidentally kissed someone, right? Apparently that doesn't apply to Hinata. He blinked at Kageyama before he bellowed in laughter.

The whole gym was in laughter, expect the setter, who was still sitting on the ground, rethinking his entire life choices. Someone said 'I hope someone got a picture of that!' And of course Yamaguchi was trying to hide his giggles behind his jacket as he had his phone out.

Tobio wanted to crawl into a dark hole and die. He wanted to rip this weird feeling out of his body, yet again, he was maybe too fond of how it boils around Shoyo. Shoyo and his stupid pretty eyes, his stupid personality, his stupid freckles, his stupid charming smile, his stupid fiery hair that Tobio couldn't seem to rip his eyes away from. He was frustrated because he didn't know what to do with these feelings. He couldn't just tell Hinata. The ginger would just laugh in his face. Or, that's what Kageyama thought at least.

He wasn't focused at all, his eyes were everywhere, his mind tried to focus on anything except the beautiful boy that laid on the ground in front of him. Shoyo got up, a small smile still on his face.

"C'mon dude, we still have another set to win." He said encouragingly. He put a hand out to help Kageyama up.

In a normal situation, Kageyama would hit his hand away, but his brain was too frazzled at the moment to care much. He accepted the gingers hands and surprisingly Shoyo pulled him up without Kageyama having to push himself up much.

The weird feeling in the pit of Tobio's stomach was literally melting his insides. Tobio would never admit this anyone, but in the moment he wasn't thinking about volleyball first. His mind was on that stupid damn shrimp.

---

The rest of the match Kageyama was distracted. The still won the match, but Kageyama didn't play as good as he could've. Everyone teased Shoyo and Kageyama in the club room, Hinata was just laughing, but Kageyama was rushing to get out. He wanted to go home as soon as possible. But of course Hinata had to follow him up with a competition to see who can make it to the bike rack faster.

Shoyo won, and he jumped around, exclaiming he finally won after being beat so many times.

They walked together to the exit of the school. Kageyama was silent, listening to Hinata talk softly about his day at school. The weird warm feeling that was melting Kageyama's insides earlier was now mellowing out. Tobio was thankful for that.

He kept thinking back to that 'kiss' back on the court. Kageyama is a master mind on the volleyball court, but other than that he was a plain guy. He never really had interest into dating anyone, and no one really had interests into someone who loved volleyball more than anything, yet he could barely keep his grades up. So his first kiss being an accident was real embarrassing. And the fact it was with Shoyo Hinata.

"It was kinda funny, how we basically kissed back in the match. Everyone was laughing." Hinata suddenly said. Tobio have him a quick glance.

How did he know I was thinking about that?

Tobio thought to himself before answering Hinata.

"Yeah..." He breathed, glancing all around the place just not at Shoyo. But of course he caught onto Kageyama.

"Hey, why do you seem so embarrassed?" He asked. Kageyama didn't answer him. He just kept his gaze onto the concrete. Shoyo stopped suddenly, his bike wheels screeching against the ground.

"Don't tell me that was your first kiss, Kageyama." Hinata provoked. Tobio stopped in his tracks, turning around and glaring at Shoyo.

"Don't act like it wasn't yours either!" Kageyama protested. He was sure Hinata hadn't been kissed before. But the ginger had a smug smile on his face and he shook his head.

"Kageyama! I have a girlfriend, remember? I told you about our makeout session!" Hinata shouted, and Kageyama wanted to punch himself again.

He had forgotten about Shoyo's girlfriend. It was just something random Hinata brought up a couple of times. Kageyama didn't think it was a big deal Shoyo had a girlfriend. He barely remembered the time Hinata told him about the makeout session, but it was coming back to Tobio, and his stomach sank to his feet.

"Oh- uh, right. Guess I forgot for a moment." Tobio managed to mutter. Shoyo just giggled.

"Don't overthink about it about it much, it was just an accident, yeah?" Shoyo said before jumping on his bike and heading the opposite way, waving Kageyama off.

The setter stood there, staring at the red-head biking up the hill. Tobio turned the opposite way, but before walking down the street to get to his house, he looked down at his hands. They were a deep red that were turning purple due to the fact he slammed them down when...

"Tsk, stupid." Kageyama whispered to himself, shoving his hands into his jacket and finally heading to his house.

When he got home, it was quiet, his parents probably out and working late again. He did his homework and made himself a dinner with whatever was in the house. His mind kept drifting back to the warm feeling of Shoyo's lips against his own. It made Tobio groan and shove his face into a pillow.

This wasn't a crush, right? Tobio was just going through a weird, stupid phase. At least that's what Tobio was telling himself. It wasn't going to develop into something deeper. Tobio didn't like the stupid spiker. He didn't like Shoyo Hinata. It was all just stupid feelings.
