Chapter Text

Overblots, to the general public, was a rare occurrence that only happens when a powerful mage loses control of their blot control which is driven by excessive magical use or extreme increase of one’s negative emotions.

They said that only a few survived an overblot. Recorded cases of overblots only lead to the overblotter's eventual demise.

But for the students of Night Raven College.. it was an occurrence that happens every few weeks.

The pattern of the overblots were getting more and more predictable throughout the year. It was mostly Housewardens until the Vice-housewarden of Scarabia tried to get their Housewarden expelled.

Because of that incident, the pattern has been broken and it could happen to anyone at this point.

“Riddle!” A voice called at the end of the hall. The red-haired turned around to spot his Vice-housewarden approaching with a smile.

The relationship between the two seems to grow more after Riddle's overblot. The feeling of walking around eggshells around the red-haired tyrant had faded away as Riddle has improved with his outbursts lately.

“Ah, Trey.” Riddle gave a faint smile, seemingly more at ease ever since his overblot. “Have you checked your section? Has everyone closed their lights?” Riddle asked.

Trey nodded as he pushed his glasses up. “Yeah. Cater also said he has finished with his section and is heading to bed now.”

“Good.” Riddle said, “You should head to bed as well, Trey.”

The vice-housewarden smiled at the words, the commanding tone Riddle always used has softened up over the months. “Alright, goodnight Riddle.” They said their farewells as they headed to their designated dorm rooms.

Everytime Trey has spoken to Riddle ever since his overblot, he could notice the little details on how Riddle was slowly improving himself.

The Housewarden has started letting some rule breakers slide. “You mustn't repeat your actions or it's ‘Off With Your Head!’” Riddle commanded followed by a stomp of his foot.

It was a small change but it was drastic from the tyrant he was when the year started.

And it also lifted something in Riddle's chest. The way he could eat tarts whenever he wants without worrying about breaking a rule.. it was the freedom he always wanted.

.. ꩜ ..

“Hm, but it breaks Rule 256.” Riddle stared at the honey-sweetened lemonade. Trey and Cater glanced over at the weirdly shaped clock.. and of course it was a few minutes past 8pm.

Trey could tell Riddle was hesitant about drinking the lemonade he requested. “You don't have to drink it if you don't want to, Riddle.” Trey clarified.

The Housewarden shook his head, “Nonsense! I requested the lemonade in the first place; I consider it impolite.”

‘.. Is he really going to do it?’ Cater looked at Riddle in shock as the Housewarden took a sip of the cold lemonade.

“Gosh Rids, you actually broke a rule!” Cater looked at the two in shock, grabbing his phone as he snapped a selfie.

Trey could only chuckle at the sight of his old friend’s stunned look as the camera snapped.

.. ꩜ ..

Riddle made his way to his dorm room, rounding the corner as he spotted his door.

His steps echoed in the empty hallways. It was peaceful.. the kind of peace where you can sense something will disturb it.

The Housewarden could feel the creeping feeling, yet he didn't know why he felt like that.

He only knew when he turned the knob of his dorm room.

“ACK-!” he clutched his head as a huge migraine stuck him. He felt his eyes shutting close with his ears ringing loudly.

What was happening?! Riddle tried calming himself down. He let out deep, slow breaths as he grounded himself from the raging headache.

‘This hurts!’ His fingers dug into his hair as the ringing got louder. The pain seemingly gets worse and worse by each second.

And then it stopped.

The pain faded away faster than it came.

He opened his eyes to find himself.. in a movie theater?

By the looks of the ascending rows of chairs and the large black screen across from it.. it was infact a movie theater.

And he wasn't alone.

“Riddle?!” A voice, familiar to what he heard minutes ago just in the hallway.

The red-haired turned to see Trey, who shared the same panicked expression Riddle had on his face.

But not only Trey was there, he spotted more of his card soldiers. Ace and Deuce were blinking in confusion, and Cater was squinting his eyes as he looked around.

The more he looked, the more people came into view. Voices layered upon each other as he recognized the others as his fellow under and upperclassmen.

How did they get there.. Why are they here?

__

Savanaclaw didn't have any curfews. You can spot beastmen outside of the dorm running their nightly jog. Some were in their rooms fast asleep to wake up early and do their training.

Usually, the training was solely for the reason of getting prepared for the upcoming Spelldrive games. But on days where there wasn't, it was the students’ preference if they would train or not.

Ruggie was walking around the halls as usual. He was the not-officially-appointed Vice-housewarden after all; He had to make sure the dorm was in good shape.

The hyena-beastman didn't really care if the dorm was in shreds, Savanaclaw was really about ‘Who’s in the strongest pack’.

Ruggie strolled around the hallways with his hands behind his head, turning the corner to where Leona’s room was located.

He spotted a few beastmen walking past him, probably finished with their nightly training and was off to hit the hay.

None of the other students really try touching Ruggie. Mainly because he was close to their Housewarden. Another reason is to make sure they won't lose anything valuable.

He turned the corner to where Leona's door was. The beastman already knew his boss was asleep; he's asleep 70% of the day so why even check?

He turned the knob to peek inside the room.

The room was dark and only lit by the light of the moon. His eyes darted to the bed expecting to find Leona, but.. he wasn't there.

‘Eh? Maybe he's off nappin’ somewhere else..’ Ruggie theorized. Great, now he has to look for Leona so the other beastman can sleep in his dorm room.

Wait, but is he required to search for Leona? Maybe not, he won't get paid for it anyways.

He turned to leave the room until-

“OW-!” His ears fell flat on his head as a huge headache suddenly appeared.Bot only that, he could hear ringing in his ears that slowly grew louder by each second.

“Wh-what's happening?!” he managed to choke out as his eyes instinctively shut close.

He could feel his body tensing by the pain of the sudden headache. He didn't even know what caused this! It just.. happened?

Suddenly, the feeling slowly faded away. It came onto him so fast that even with the feeling gone, his body was still tense.

.. ꩜ ..

“L-Leona-senpai! T-that hurts!” Ruggie squirmed as he tried getting out of his Housewarden’s reach. He could feel his arm slowly drying up by Leona’s Unique Magic.

The voice around him faded into the background, his own skin was slowly turning into sand that it hurts

The beastman tried pulling himself away and pushing Leona as well just so he wouldn't turn into sand.

Was he.. scared? Of course he was. He's about to turn into sand at any moment! But the feeling of being scared felt bitter on his tongue. He had never had this amount of fear before.

The closest to fear he has gotten is trying to defend himself and the other kids in his village from other beastman packs.

After that, he made sure he can stay strong and help provide for himself, his grandma, and to the other kids in his village.

… ꩜ …

“Oi, Ruggie. Open your eyes.” He heard Leona’s voice in front of him.

He slowly opened his eyes, his hands dropping down from where he tried covering his ears from the ringing.

Only now he realised the pain was gone.

“Leona-san?” Ruggie looked up. He saw his Housewarden glancing around the room. Speaking of the room.. where are they?!

One moment he was in Leona’s room, the next he felt the most gut wrenching pain ever, and now they're in this mysterious room?!

Wait..

Ruggie glanced around as well, his eyes finding a large screen In front of them followed by rows of plush chairs.

Are we in a movie theater?!

“Jade, have the others finished cleaning the lounge?” Azul stepped into the storage room as he spotted the eel-merman.

The vice-housewarden Housewarden was going through their stock as shown by the clipboard and pen in his hand. “Yes, I believe Floyd gave them some courteous encouragement.” The eel gave Azul an eerie smile.

Azul nodded, he didn't mind what tactics they used to make sure their other employees dorm members wouldn't slack off. “That's great. You can finish checking the stock then you-” He turned back away from a moment, inspecting the other storage crates as he spoke.

He turned back to his vice only to find something odd.

Jade was.. frozen? He was still and his face showed an emotion other than the eerie smile he always wore.

“Jade?” He stepped closer, only for Jade’s hand to come up and block his ears

“Urgh-!” Jade squinted, his form remained well-mannered yet Azul could tell he was about to fold.

Azul grabbed Jade's arm, trying to figure out what was happening. “JADE! Explain to me what is happening?!” His face filled with worry

Jade shut his eyes closed, “My head..! It's-..” He managed to speak, his words were choked out as the migraine he felt more and more stronger as time passed.

“Jade?” Azul stared at the spot where Jade was.

The eel was.. gone?!

Was this a teleportation spell at work? If so, why did it cause Jade pain? ‘Perhaps they performed it wrong..?’

Multiple questions filled the Housewarden’s head until it happened to himself.

Just like Jade, his hands flew to cover his ears. The ringing added with the headache made it hard to keep his eyes open.

He let one hand push his glasses up, the pain he felt was unbearable.

Was this what Jade felt? How is this happening to him as well?

He tried theorizing answers to distract himself from the pain. Maybe the thoughts will let the pain faded away faster.

And to Azul's surprise, it did. But was it really his thoughts that lead the pain away?

Slowly, the ringing died down as well as the headache afterwards.

..

Once he knew there was no more pain, he slowly opened his eyes.

Pushing his glasses up, he blinked in confusion as the shelves of stocks that were just in front of him changed into rows of chairs.

‘A teleportation spell was performed on me as well?’ He thought. Azul turned to find the tweels chatting up in confusion.

But his eyes not only found the tweels.

He spotted multiple other students from different dorms, his confusion only grew as minutes went on without any answers.

Jamil was cleaning up in Scarabia as the party his Housewarden hosted just ended.

He was tired.

Even with Kalim promising to become more independent, he still can't take care of himself without Jamil having to assist him with it.

The vice-housewarden let out a tired sigh, at least he can be alone with his thoughts while washing the dishes.

Maybe he can notice Kalim trying to change. Yet, he still can't help but worry about the fact Kalim might do something stupid and he has to go over and help.

He finished up the last few pieces of plates as he dried his hands. Good thing the other dorm members willingly decided to help clean the lounge.

At least he has less load to handle..

He left the kitchen to search for where his Housewarden might be. If he knew any better, Kalim was probably be getting ready for bed.

His steps echoed as he walked through the halls. Nights in Scarabia always felt a bit more quiet after parties.

“JAMIIILLL!!!!” A voice shouted, the words bouncing through the halls of the dorm. The other dorm members froze in shock.

Jamil immediately stiffened as he recognized the voice..

 Kalim.

He dashed over to where Kalim’s bedroom was located. What in sevens was happening?! Was Kalim getting kidnapped?!

He ran as fast as he could as he shoved the doors of the Housewarden’s room open. Jamil found Kalim curled up on the floor by the foot of his bed as his hands were covering both ears.

“KALIM!” He rushed over to the sight, trying to figure out what in seven’s name was happening.

He crouched beside his housewarden, patting different areas of his body to check if he had hurt himself. “Does anything hurt? What happened? Kalim tells me!” He spat out questions left and right.

“M-my head…—It hurts!! And.. OW-!” The migraine worsened as his body tightened due to the pain.

Nothing like this has ever happened before. Was this poison?! Did Kalim manage to get poisoned?! How did he let poison slip in his food?! If Kalim’s family finds out.. wait, not now! He needs to focus on Kalim.

Jamil tried comforting him, patting his back and making sure Kalim’s breathing was even.

 Only until Jamil felt it.

A massive migraine shot into Jamil's head as the ringing started, his eyes instinctively shut closed due to the pain.

“J-Jamil!" Kalim reacted. His hands fell down from his ears as he tried helping his vice-housewarden.

This pain.. is this what Kalim felt..? Jamil opened his eyes, staring at the now empty spot where Kalim was curled up at.

What?! Where did Kalim go..! Jamil panicked, making the headache worse.

He knew he would hear Kalim if he ran off somewhere, but Kalim just magically disappeared.

Jamil needed the headache gone. The vice stumbled as he tried standing up, his eyes suddenly blurred as he stood up too fast.

He tried grounding himself, closing his eyes as he tried focusing to keep himself calm.

Did it work..? The pain he was feeling was suddenly gone.. it faded faster than it came.

It was silent for a moment, Jamil could feel the pain fading away from his head.

“JAAAMIL!!!” A worried voice attacked him from behind, tackling both of them to the ground.

Kalim?! Jalim opened his eyes to find himself in an unfamiliar place. Wasn't I in Kalim's bedroom?

He sighed, “How many times do I have to tell you to stop tackling me? We both might get hurt.” Jamil scolded as he pushed Kalim away from him.

Kalim chuckled awkwardly as his smile naturally returned to his face, “Sorry! I was so worried because you suddenly collapsed aswell!”

He bounced back to give Jamil some space.

The vice-housewarden stood up, the sides of his body ached from being tackled to the ground.

The two stood by each other in silence, their eyes narrowed as they saw each student get teleported into the room with the same pained expression they had earlier.

‘What’s happening?’

Vil was just finishing up the last steps of his skincare, already in his sleepwear as he was prepared to head to bed.

He has been updated that the renovations of the Ramshackle House have been going smoothly, Yuu and their companion has been taking residence in Pomefiore.

Obviously they're little group followed along with them. Since Ramshackle was being renovated, the group of first years used Pomefiore as their temporary hangout spot.

Of course the first years were hesitant about staying in Pomefiore.. just the stories Epel told to them was scary enough!

But still, they stayed there for sleepovers and ‘study sessions’.

Vil enjoyed watching the chaotic group try (and fail) to follow Pomefiore’s routine.

Important skin care every morning and night, Basic Etiquette class during the afternoons, and the watchful eye of Rook.. It definitely fit the description Epel gave the dorm.

Yuu still managed to make through all the agonizing routines, turning it into something positive and fun so the rest can stop complaining.

…There was a lot of complaining.

Vil just hoped the Basic Etiquette lessons he gave them was enough to make sure they actually behave.

The Housewarden finished up his skincare as he placed them neatly on their shelf.

He felt something linger in the back of his mind. A small pain that was getting stronger by each second.

Along with it, there was the ringing. Ugh.. did I not intake enough vitamins? Vil though, the ringing slowly got louder and louder and the headache grew as well.

He gripped the edge of his desk, the pain was starting to get unbearable. Maybe it's another overblot side effect? Idia already told them about the side-effects that might happen to them.

The pain worsened. Vil could feel that the more he thought about it, the more pain it's gonna give him.

He took deep breaths as he tried to ignore the pain. If he doesn't focus on it too much, then the possibility of it fading away can increase.

He closed his eyes, continuing his breath as he could feel it fading away.

Not only the pain faded away, but the desk that he used to stabilize himself was gone.

Vil opened his eyes, the bedroom he was just in a minute ago turned into a… movie theater.

“Roi du Poison!” A voice called out to him. The Housewarden turned to spot his Vice-housewarden walking towards him in a panicked expression.

Rook, as overdramatic as ever, poured a million questions to his confused Housewarden.

“Has the pain all faded away? Are you unharmed? Did you manage to finish your skincare?” Vil admired how caring his Vice-housewarden can get towards him.

Vil pushed the questions aside as they needed to discuss the elephant in the room. “Rook, I'm grateful for your concern. But, we must focus on where we are right now.”

Rook nodded, “Oui! I am certain we are in a movie theater. Yet, curiosity has piqued me as to how we managed to get here.”

“Muscle Red?” Idia muttered under his breath as the avatar of his gaming buddy just froze..?

‘Did he lag out or smth?’ He defended his teammate’s character as he was being surrounded by nearby enemies.

Please come back.. there are more enemies coming!!! Idia internally panicked. He combo’ed most of the enemies with his skills but it wasn't enough. Since they were staying in a single area, the code of the ai monsters have been set to that area where Muscle Red was supposedly AFK’ing at.

Suddenly, Muscle Red’s character disappeared. ‘Muscle Red has left the party’, a notification popped up in the chat.

“Wut..?” He stared at the message in confusion. Usually, when his gaming buddy needed to leave, he would just message Idia right away and then leave.

The moved his character away from the monsters, hoping to not lose any HP while doing so. ‘That's weird, why did Muscle Red leave?

Was it an emergency? Did he have to do something that he didn't have time to chat with me about it?

Hm.. it doesn't matter though, he will return eventu-

*Ping!* ‘Ortho Shroud’s tracker has moved past the tracker's limit.’

WHAT?! Ortho was out-of-bound?! But that didn't make sense, he could track Ortho if he was in another country.. plus he can track Ortho when the humanoid was in space!

How did Ortho manage to pass the limit of his tracker?!

He needed an answer, he started mass DM’ing Ortho's Magicam account (which he made so he could be added to the first years’ GC) hoping that his little brother would respond.

“ACK-!” A headache popped into his head. His body curled up so fast he accidentally hit his head onto his desk.

He winced at the dual sensation, “Ouch.. my HP is going to the negatives because of that..” he rubbed his forehead with the embarrassment of hitting his head.

The Housewarden pulled up his holographic screen. He had already placed his character in a safe spot and left the game, he might be good the next time he boots up the game.

Plus, he needed Ortho to reply before he gets extremely worried.

The headache seemingly worsened due to the pain of hitting his head. He could feel a loud ringing in his ears with each key he typed.

Urghh-! Because of the pain I can't type properly!!!’ Idia squinted. His fingers flew across the keyboard as he tried his best to focus on what he was typing

To be fair, it was ultimately hard trying to type out commands while fighting the urge to pass out right there.

A huge spike of pain erupted in his head, his body folded forward as his hands came to cover his ears. ‘Whats this?! I can feel my HP draining fast!!!’ He panicked, trying to continue on the commands he was typing out.

But he couldn't remove his hands. The ringing in his ear was getting stronger and stronger and-

Oh.

Did it just… vanished?

His hands move to grab onto his desk except.. it wasn't there.

Maybe he accidentally shifted his chair a little bit back?

His eyes shot open as he realised he couldn't feel his desk at all. The moment he opened his eyes he was met with a bright screen that displayed text saying:

Kindly take your seats.’

Generally, there was no pain when Lilia and Malleus teleported into the room. They were already used to teleporting as a natural form of transportation.

And it shocked them when the two spotted Silver and Sebek wincing in pain as they both covered their ears.

“Silver!” Lilia immediately sprung into action. The younger boy opened his eyes as he looked around in confusion. The pain he felt just moments ago.. disappeared?

Lilia patted Silver to check why his son was wincing in pain. “Is there something wrong? Are you hurt?” Silver only shook his head to the questions.

“I am fine.. Father. The pain has already left.” Silver answered his father's concern.

The bat-fae let out a tired sigh, “Okay that's great—WAIT, PAIN?!”

“What did you feel? How badly did it hurt? Do you know what caused it to happen?” Lilia investigated Silver with the worry that always with parental figures.

Sebek was embarrassed to show such weakness to his liege. “WAKA-SAMA! I assure you that I don't feel any pain anymore! It is unruly of me to be in such a vulnerable state!”

The older fae shook his head, “Nonsense. You don't have to be embarrassed that something was causing you distress.”

“Do you insist that you don't feel pain?” Malleus asked.

Sebek shook his head, "I'm certain the pain has faded!" Malleus nodded as he turned to his other dorm members. Lilia was still tossing out questions to the second-year as Silver tried his best to answer every question.

After their panic had subdued, the four inspected the room they were in.

It was a movie theater, obviously. Lilia could easily tell by the rows of chairs and the huge screens. Another thing that they have noticed are other students popping up in different areas of the room.

The students of Heartslabyul and Scarabia were by the lower areas of the theater. The Savanaclaw, Octavinelle, Pomefiore, and Ignihyde students were scattered across the rows of chairs.

And obviously the pile of loud first years in the middle of the rows.

“OW! Deuce, get off me!” "Someone is crushing my leg!” "GUYS STOP MOVING YOU'RE PULLING MY HAIR!!” "Mra—OW!!!"

The chaotic group tumbled onto each other when they were teleported, which led them managing to pile over each other.

Jack shoved Ace, who was at the very top of the pile, off him as he managed to get up from the pile.

The card soldier fell back. Sevens dude, you didn't have to show me that hard. Even with the migraine gone, he still felt the pain that came from the pile of bodies he was luckily shoved out of.

Jack helped Yuu and Deuce up to their feet, unfortunately for them they were right under Jack..

Epel was at the very bottom of the pile, shouting to the rest to get him.

The beast-creature luckily managed to squirm away from the pile before more of them fell onto one another.

And Ortho, luckily wasn't in the twists of limbs that was in front of him. The humanoid let out a few chuckles until he started checking his friends’ vitals to see if they're okay.

A loud tune echoed in the room as the screen lit up.

The room was now lit by the screen in front of them, the light was so bright it gave their eyes a hard time to adjust to it.

They all squinted as black text appeared on the blinding white screen.

‘Kindly take your seats.’

__

What was that? Firstly, WHERE ARE THEY? They were mysteriously taken in the middle of the night and now they have to follow what the voice was saying?

Everyone had the same confused look on their faces. No one moved a muscle. (except for the piled up first years as they were in pain due to them stacking on top of eachother)

“I will not follow you until you give us an answer on where we are!” Riddle commanded, stomping his foot as his voice echoed through the whole room.

His vice-housewarden tried calming Riddle down, making sure that he didn't combust in anger.

The other agreed on what Riddle said. Most of them nodded and others made small comments.

“I agree with Riddle, why expect us to keep calm when you have clearly kidnapped us in the middle of the night?" Azul pushed his glasses up, questioning the reasoning on why they are here.

Jade and Floyd moved towards where their Housewarden stood, the twins finally finished in what conversation they could possibly be having.

The screen chimed again, the text disappearing as it was replaced with something else.

“I apologize, I shall explain once everyone has taken their seats.” The screen chimed, followed by a robotic voice.

Geez this voice really wants us to comply.. Yuu thought. They fixed up their sleepwear as they inspected the rows of chairs.

Knowing that they won't get answers if they just stand around, the rest just complied with what the voice was requesting to them

The Housewarden of Heartslabyul was still furious. The voice just avoided answering his questions! “I'm sure they'll answer it once we take a seat, Rids!" Cater held his phone in one hand as he ushered the two up the rows of chairs.

"Maybe finding a comfortable seat can ease your nerves!” The card soldier walked towards the middle sections of the seats, finding the one with the best view of the screen.

The three passed by the first year group as he threw them a wave, “Hi freshies! Are you guys alright over there?" He watched as Ortho was checking their vitals one by one.

Ortho just finished checking Grim and Yuu. The beast-creature had no bruises (fortunately), while Yuu had some bruising by her arms as they were under Jack after all. "We're fine Cater-senpai.." Ace replied as it was his turn to get checked.

Cater chuckled, “You underclassmen were surely loud!" He commented on their shouts that layered on top of each other. “Ah.. we were that loud..?" Epel’s face flushed in embarrassment as he was the one doing most of the shouting.

"It's fine! Don't worry about it” Cater said before he followed behind his Housewarden.

Ortho finished up checking the Adeuce duo, he moved onto Epel who was at the very bottom of the pile, "So, no broken bones!” The humanoid beamed as he closed up the holographic screen.

“Thank SEVENS.." Epel let out a sigh, after being crushed by Yuu, Jack, Deuce and Ace.. he thought he would've dislocated something.

"I wanna sit beside Yuu!” The two turned to Ace who was arguing with Grim. "NO! I must always sit beside my hench-human!" the beast stomped his foot onto the seat.

Beside Grim, Yuu was laughing at the two. They always manage to argue every time on who gets to sit beside the Prefect.

And it always ends up the same way..

Ace scoffed, "You can always sit on her lap y’know?” The beast still wasn't backing out. "Yeah, but I always sit on her lap! I deserve my own chair this time!” He stomped again. If Yuu could describe Grim… they would describe the beast-creature as a child throwing a tantrum.

"Why can't you sit on the other side?!” Grim huffed. Ace glanced onto the free chair right beside the Prefect. " You know that spot is for Ortho!” He crossed his arms, “Yuu loves when Ortho sits beside them cause apparently Ortho is their ‘favorite.’”

In perfect timing, the humanoid floated over to the free spot beside Yuu. Epel followed after him as he sat by the aisle. "Ortho is like.. my son! And I love when he gives me fun facts when we're watching something" Yuu giggled.

“Didn't we already make designated seats for each of us?" Deuce asked, already sitting down on his seat right beside Jack. "We all agreed on it as well; It's Epel, then Ortho, then Yuu, then Ace, then Deuce, and then me." The wolf-beastman recited the order of their seats.

Ace groaned as he picked Grim up. "I know! But Grim always made a fuss about it” He placed Grim on the Prefect’s lap as he sat on his designated seat.

"Maybe next time Grim.” Yuu chuckled as they comforted the pouting beast.

“Shehehe.. those first years are surely loud" Ruggie watched the argument in amusement. The second-year group decided to gather around a row under the first years. “Arguing over a seat? Man, they surely argue about everything.”

All the second-years were settled in their seats. The octotrio, like usual, sat in their designated spots. Floyd sat by the aisle while Azul sat beside him and Jade followed. The trio was in a row in front of the second-years so no one could hear their ‘discussions.’

At the row above the trio, Ruggie sat by the aisle. Trey accompanied their Housewarden to make sure Riddle doesn't lose his temper. Cater was supposed to be beside them but figured that he wanted to be by the third-years instead.

Beside the Heartslabyul duo, Kalim and Jamil sat beside each other.

It's either Kalim or Azul..’ Jamil thought to himself. Both of the options were horrible but at least Kalim can be a little tolerable than Azul.

An empty seat was by Jamil, mostly saved for Silver as their other classmate was still by his dorm members.

“What do you think this is about?” Kalim asked the rest of them. The other second-years turned to the screen, all of them have no clue why they are here.

Since no one was talking, Kalim took it as an opportunity to talk about his theories. “Ooh ooh! Maybe we're all watching a movie!”

The hyena-beastman gave him a weird look, “We were kidnapped? Do kidnappers just take a bunch of highschoolers and force them to watch a movie?”

“Maybe..?” Kalim replied. Jamil just let out a sigh with the response. He seriously thinks we're here to watch a movie.

The Housewarden turned to the octotrio in front of him, “How about you guys? Do you have any theories?” He asked the trio.

Floyd turned to the row above him, “Ehh.. we're here to watch something. But I doubt it's a movie.” He leaned forward at the back of the chair. “If it's boring I might squeeze some EHEHEH” Floyd chuckled, not really giving any important theories.

The group really had no clue what they were here for, are they really here to watch?

“Hey guys.” Silver approached the group. Kalim’s eyes brightened as he waved to Silver. “HII SILVER!” He greeted.

He turned to his Vice-housewarden, “Jamil, can we switch? I wanna sit between my two best friends!”

Kalim gave Jamil the bestest puppy eyes. His vice looked at him unamused as he stood up, “Whatever here you can sit there Silver.” he gestured to the seat between Ruggie and Kalim. Jamil moved himself to the seat by the aisle.

“Jade, why’dya have a clipboard?” Floyd poked the clipboard on Jade’s lap.

The eel chuckled, “It came with me when I teleported here.” Azul looked at the two and noticed the clipboard. “Ah, I didn't know it also came. Do you also have the pen?”

Jade pulled the pen he also brought from his pocket, “It also came with me. Maybe these items can be rather useful regarding why we are here.”

The octo-merman nodded, a smirk appearing on his face. “Perhaps.”

Unlike their underclassmen, the third-years were scattered around the higher rows of the cinema. Idia didn't move from the seat he was teleported in. The Housewarden found it rather comfortable and far from everyone else.

I wish I had my tablet..’ He thought to himself. His tablet wasn't brought with him when he was teleported and Idia was devastated about it.

He pulled up multiple holographic screens, he needed an answer to how did they get here and obviously WHERE EVEN ARE THEY?

All of his plans resorted to dead ends and unnecessary rabbit holes, he tried finding what movie theater they were in but he couldn't get an exact match on where they were.

‘Loading…’

“Hey Idia!” a voice appeared in front of him as he flinched to the sudden intrusion. “EEP! Why are you all here?!” He met four pairs of eyes. Lilia, Cater, Vil, and Malleus all approached him.. HIM? WHY ARE THEY HERE!!?

Cater moved forward, inspecting the screens Idia summoned. “Haha, sorry to scare you! We're just here to ask if you know anything about where we are?” He pointed over to the loading screen appearing on Idia’s holographic screens.

Loading Complete!

The four moved to look at the screen. Idia made sure to expand it so they won't get too close to his personal space.

‘Location: Pocket Dimension’

The text appeared, the four looked at it confused as they turned to Idia. The Housewarden himself was confused about the answer.

‘Pocket Dimensions? What does that even mean?!’ He tried retyping the command only until the voice from the screen chimed in again.

Since everyone here has been seated, I shall explain why you are here.

The voice announced. The students immediately drifted their attention to the screen as their question could finally be answered.

The four moved to sit down. Lilia, Malleus, and Cater didn't have any spots so they just sat where the Ignihyde Housewarden sat.

Lilia called out to the first year who waited nearby them, "Come! Let's sit here, Sebek." He waved the the half-fae.

The half-fae nodded, "Yes Lilia-sama!" He moved towards the spots where His liege and Lilia were now seated.

‘Oh come on! Why did they have to sit near me?!’ Idia complained, typing away as he restarted the command of where their location was.

With the other third years, Vil returned to where his seat was with Rook. The two sat rather close to Leona (the main reason why Cater didn't sit with them is because he knew he'll be caught in the middle of another argument.)

Leona folded the armrests of the chair up and he used two chairs to make into a bed. He didn't really care about the whole situation they were caught in, he just wanted to continue his nap that was abruptly interrupted by the painful headache and ringing in his ears.

Welcome students of Night Raven College. You may call me ‘System.’” The voice introduced themselves first.

Silence filled the room as they were focused on the screen.

“I have brought you here to watch events that will happen in the upcoming future.”

“WHAT?!”

The room erupted with voices stacking on top of each other. The FUTURE?! Why are they reacting to the future? How are they reacting to the future?!

Yuu quickly raised her hand, another question lingered in her mind as now the previous question had been answered.

Why are we watching our future?” The Prefect’s question laid heavy as the rest turned back to the screen. Silence filled the room once more.

“I cannot answer that question. But, your question might be answered later on.”

Oh..

“.. Okay, thank you.” They lowered their hand in disappointment. ‘They didn't answer my question..’

Another hand was raised; this time, it came from the row of the second-years. “How are we reacting to the future? Is it magic?” Azul raised his hand following the question.

The screen chimed again as they answered, “I have knowledge of your past, present, and future. Asking further more will only lead you confused.”

‘Okay, a bit eerie…’ Yuu sank into her chair. The rest were asking questions left and right to the screen. The screen answered half of them while completely ignoring the rest.

“That's all the questions I will answer. The screening will begin in ten minutes.” The voice announced. Almost every question they received was a rephrased version of Yuu’s question. The voice didn't bother answering it all as they only answered small questions that didn't matter much.

A red button suddenly blinked in their armrests. “I have given you all a pause button. If you need to discuss something or ask a question while the screening is playing, please press the red button and the screen will pause.”

The whole room dimmed as a timer appeared now on a black screen. White text, which was the timer, appeared on the screen, slowly counting down to the apparent ‘screening’ of their futures.

The chatter of the room continued as everyone made their theories about the matter. ‘What's so special about the future that they had to watch it?’ Ace crossed his arms as he turned to ask Yuu a question.

The card soldier was then met with the Prefect lost in thought. Grim was on her lap chattering about how the beast really wanted tuna.

“Yuu?” Ace asked, snapping Yuu out of their thoughts. The rest of the first years turned to Yuu as they noticed the Prefect's discomfort.

Jack’s ear twitched. “Are you alright, Yuu?” The prefect shook her head as she turned to her friends. “I'm fine! I'm just thinking about what our future might be..”

“Well? Better share it with the class!” Epel spoke from his side, curious about what Yuu could be thinking about that led them to be lost in thought.

The Prefect turned to their friends. The small group people who have helped them during the overblots.

Overblots, the bane of the prefect’s existence. The reason why she wanted to go back home. Because she always had to deal with the overblots.

It was frustrating! Why does she have to deal with all of the overblots? Can't the school just get a therapist?

Yuu still remembered the time.. during Riddle's overblot..

.. ꩜ ..

“YUU, WATCH OUT!” The card soldiers shouted out as they sprinted to Yuu. A flying hedge was coming straight to their way.

The prefect was frozen. What were they supposed to do?! They can't fight an overblot…

They stared at the hedge directing their way. Not moving, not speaking.. just.. frozen.

After that, Yuu woke up in the infirmary. Deuce and Ace told her that she was struck in the head by the hedge.

Bandages surrounded their head, their eyes squinting by the bright infirmary lights.

The Prefect felt.. numb.

‘Is that why I can't seem to remember my name?’

.. ꩜ ..

The first years waited for Yuu to finally speak up. The Prefect stared down at the floor for a long time, ‘Should I tell them? I don't want them to be scared about it though…’

“Yuu?” Ortho called out to the Prefect. She lifted her head up from staring at the ground as she faced the multiple pair of eyes looking at her with worry.

“I think I know why we're watching the future.”
