Chapter Text
His alarm blared through the room, making Felix squirm deeper beneath his blankets before finally giving up and crawling out of bed.
It's early, the sun not yet out. He'd set it earlier than he normally would to give himself enough time to get ready and then some.
He groans, trying to rub the sleep out of his eyes. Laying here for a while longer wouldn't hurt.
Just five more minutes.
He doesn't get the chance because his phone starts ringing at that moment, loud and cheerful, and that's the one time he regrets putting that as his ringtone. If he doesn't pick it up it'll just keep going, especially since it's a group call.
Eventually, he rolls over to his bedside table and sits up, throwing his legs off the bed. The caller ID glowing bright in the dark room.
Incoming Video call: Hot Besties
He chuckles into the darkness. The name has been Jisung's idea, always one for wacky stuff like this.
He picks up the call, not interested in having his ears blown out by that annoying ringtone. It connects and the screen splits to show two other faces, Seungmin's already awake one and Jisung's not so much. He goes to turn on his room light so they can see him better.
“Morning”, he rasps, heading to the bathroom to brush his teeth.
“Hey”, he hears Jisung say from under his blankets while Seungmin just grunts, already brushing his teeth.
“Jisung get up”, he says. If he had the opportunity he's sure the squirrel like boy would sleep the entire morning away, and that would be okay usually, but not today.
Today was their first day at their new school and if they didn't get up early, they would be late.
“Mmmh, don't wanna”, he groans.
“Well you have to”, he retorts, starting to brush his teeth.
Another groan and the sound of his sheets rustling can be heard.
“Why are we up this early again?”
"Because it's our first day. You don't want to be late, do you?”
“I guess you have a point”, the older drawls, “But why this early?”
Seungmin, who had been quiet because of the brush in his mouth, speaks up, “because you two always take forever to get ready”
“That's because I fall asleep between steps, lix is the one with the super long routine”
“Hey, I have a very thorough skincare routine, that's normal, the blond says around the foam in his mouth, “"If you guys actually took care of your skin you'd understand.” He finishes brushing his teeth and turns to face the camera .
“Nobody's saying it's bad to have skincare. We do it too, just a reasonable amount, you do way too much”.
“I do not”
“You do”, the two of them chorus.
“You meanies”
“Yeah, yeah whatever”, seungmin chuckles, I'm gonna go hit the shower”
“Me too”, Felix says, “you'd better not fall asleep again sung”
“No promises”, he says as they turn off their cameras and mute the call.
Half an hour later, all three of them were freshly showered. Jisung, thankfully, is also clad in his fluffy bathrobe by then and Felix is just finishing up his routine.
Breakfast goes by quickly. Seungmin, since they had time, made himself some waffles, Felix made blueberry muffins which he promised to bring them some too while Jisung, who couldn't be bothered, poured himself a generous bowl of cereal.
They opt to fill their bags with snacks, Jisung carrying a concerning amount. Today is a half day anyway, classes start fully tomorrow.
After breakfast, they go back up to get ready. Their new school, which they would be starting their second year at, was a prestigious private high school filled with the nation's wealthiest students, or, in exceptional cases, its brightest. By all standards they ought to have gone there since their first year but their parents had insisted they attend an omega only school. Look where that got them now.
They got into their school uniforms, hanging neat and crisp. Thankfully, their school wasn't very strict on uniforms and they only had to wear them on Mondays and Thursdays. And they could be customised to each students liking and worn however.
Today they decided to wear the normal ones. Seungmin was dressed in the full uniform, crisp white shirt, Jacket, long trousers, sweater vest(his own) and tie. Felix opted to go without the jacket and instead of a tie, had a cute ribbon in place.
The two of them looked like model students. Jisung on the other hand…
He wore tailored shorts(almost reaching his knees) and his shirt not tucked in but that was all. The two of them had to scold him into wearing a sweater on top to at least look a bit presentable. He could dress however he wanted on any other day.
For shoes Seungmin and Felix wore platform loafers while Jisung wore chunky platform sneakers. He looked cute, if not chaotic.
They all chatted about what they thought the new school was going to be like as they styled their hair and put on the finishing touches, hoping the people there were nice.
They hadn't really gone out much since they left the other school, so they had no chance to scout out the people they were going to school with during summer break.
As they were about to start going downstairs, Seungmin remembered something.
“Don't forget your scent blockers”
“Whoops”, Jisung says, going back to grab a pack from his drawer. After putting one patch on either side of his neck and wrist he puts the whole pack in his bag. He always forgets his so this is the best option for him.
“See you at school”
“Bye”
“Bye”. And with that they cut the call.
Felix slipped his phone into his pocket, took one last look in the mirror, and smiled nervously.
New school. New classmates. New start.
Jisung bounded down the steps, his fluffy curls bouncing as he made his way down. Usually, they'd drive themselves to school. Their last school was a boarding one so they had to stay in dorms but now he finally got to drive his new car.
Today though, their parents had insisted on driving them to and from school, wanting to see them off for their first day. Ever since they'd gotten back home since theie last school shut down, their parents had been extra careful with them, feeling bad for having sent them there and not listening to them.
He gets where they're coming from but they're fine now. Mostly.
“Good morning”, he greets as he spots them. His mother is in the kitchen while his father is in the living room, making some calls.
“Sung-ah, good morning love”, his mother answers, “how was your night”
“It was nice. Slept like a log”
She pulls him into a hug as he steps in properly, her sweet smell comforting him.
“Good morning Ji”, he hears his father says and soon enough he's being covered in both their scents.
“Alright, alright, that's enough”. They're going to be late if they keep this up and his friends will not let him off easy if he's late.
“Are you ready to go, hope you didn't forget anything” his dad asks.
He makes sure to check everything again. Snacks, check, Laptop and notebooks, check, waterbottle, check, phone, check, wallet, che-
Wait, where's his wallet. He digs through his bag but can't find it. Oops.
“My wallet!”, he shouts, rushing back upstairs, his parents chuckles and sighs fading behind him.
“Meet us in the garage”
Back in his room, he picks up his wallet, checks that his cards are intact and that he has cash(you never know) before heading back down.
He makes sure to check everything one more time, then heads down to the underground garage.
The door leading outside is open, and in front of it is one of his father's luxury sedans. They're inside, waiting for him. He gets in the back seat, closes the door and fastens his seatbelt.
“Okay, ready”, he says and they pull out.
He opens their group chat on his phone to find messages already waiting for him

We're on our way:)
The trees passed by in a blur as he car sped smoothly through the neighborhood, passing gates, fences and well trimmed hedges.
He puts on his headphones, putting on his favourite playlist. They would be there soon.
Seungmin sat at the back of the car, going through his schedule and looking at the school map again. They're about two minutes away now.
He can only hope today will go well.
Minutes later, the wide gates of the academy come into view. They're grand, with the school's logo marked in the middle.
They're wide open, as cars of all types roll in. Once they're inside the gates, the views get even better. The driveway is lined with green. Perfectly trimmed hedges flanked the long driveway beneath rows of identical trees.
It takes them a minute of driving to catch a glimpse of the main building. The administration building stands tall at the forefront of the establishment, dark walls and large support arches making it a grand view.
They make their way towards the circular driveway, and park in front of the huge building.
Seungmin opens his door and makes his way out, his parents coming out after him.
“”You have all your documents?”, his mother asks for the tenth time.
“Yes mother, I do”, he gets that they're worried but it gets to a point.
“You know that you need to do first”, his dad asks, less fussy than his mom.
“Yep, I need to get my ID first”
“Good”, he says, “we should be on our way”.
They get in the car and wave goodbye as they pull away.
He turns away and starts towards the parking lot. There he finds Felix and his parents engaging in one of their tearful goodbyes, hugging and bawling in the middle of the lot. Thank goodness his parents are more reserved otherwise he would have died of embarrassment.
He tries to stay off to the side to avoid getting pulled in but it seems his luck has run short as Felix's mother spots him and waves him over.
There he is pulled into one of those crushing jugs as he tries to return the sentiment.
Eventually though, after much reassurance, they get his parents to leave, or else they'll be late.
“Jeez”, Felix sighs, “You'd think I was moving away for a year and not a day”
“Don't lie, you love it”
“I mean yeah, but this much is ridiculous”, he mumbles, “I don't want our new schoolmates seeing us like that”
Seungmin hums, as he looks around.
“We should probably go wait at the drive for Jisung”
“Yeah, but first”, Felix says before enveloping him in a hug. He returns the embrace, he's missed this.
After their well needed recharge they head off in the direction seungmin just came from. The autumn breeze was nice as it swept past them. It felt so freeing.
Right on schedule, Jisung's family's car rolled into the circular driveway. The older omega jumped out of his seat, his parents telling him goodbye. At least they were time conscious.
“Finally”, Seungmin muttered.
“Hey guys”, he gave them each a hug before fixing up his appearance.
The three make their way into the administration office. They have to get their IDs first. They couldn't access most of the building without it.
Inside of the building was even more captivating than the outside. Twin staircases rose on either side of a receptionist’s desk in the middle of the foyer. The stairs led to three elevators and two other stairs on either side of the loft. Marble floors reflected the morning sunlight pouring through the glass ceiling.
It was bustling with people, running around busy as first days usually were. The three of them quickly their way to the receptionist, typing away on her monitor.
They make their way over and she greets them with a smile.
“Hello, how may I help you”
“We're here to collect our IDs and materials”, Seungmin says.
“Ah, new students”
“Yes”
She turns to her computer typing something in, “what year and classes please”
“Kim Seungmin, Lee Felix and Han Jisung, all second year”
“Oh, welcome”, she says, standing and greeting them with a bow, “student IDs are collected on the 3rd floor, I'll take you there”
The receptionist, yusel, guides them to the elevators and into the nearest one. It's empty and the journey up is smooth and quick, the faint noise of the elevator filling the space.
Soon enough they've reached the third floor and are collecting their IDs, they tuck them into their wallets and thank the receptionist before they're shuffling out of the admin building.
Thank goodness they'd gotten up early or else they'd have been scrambling around right about now. They wouldn't want to be late for the opening ceremony.
The school is huge, just walking from places to place is a workout on its own. As they walk they take note of different buildings and halls, getting themselves familiar. They'd come once during summer break but that was it.
Felix looked around, awed.
"This place is huge…”
"I am absolutely getting lost.” ,Jisung adds, equally wide eyed.
Students are bustling about, most headed in the same direction. Towards the hall.
They make it there and take their seats near the front. The hall soon fills up and the ceremony begins. It passes by in a blur. The principal, some middle aged beta, welcomes all the new students and transfers, noting the large number of omega students.
Well, obviously. Most of the students from their last school came here after it went under.
He reminds them of the school rules and tell them to focus on their studies, classic speech stuff. Then he's welcoming the Freshman representatives.
After a while lot more speeches the principal thanks the students and calls up the student council members. That gets the auditorium's attention.
Cheers and applause breaks out, people hollering and shouting at the top of their lungs. Swun has half the mind to describe them as wild animals but then the council walks up and he suddenly understands.
Five alphas(he's assuming), get on the stage, their presence stirring the room in an instant. They're all very good looking, he thinks as he scans their faces, then his eyes land on the one in the front and his mind goes blank.
The alpha's face is like a work of art, perfectly sculpted, jawline so sharp it could cut through glass, plump lips perfect against his skin, he wonders how it would fe...
Nope. That's enough. Is he crazy, what is he thinking.
His heart hammers in his chest, so rapidly he's starting to get worried and he can feel his omega rearing it's head up in interest.
“Hello, Everyone”, the alpha says, “My name's bang Chan”
Gosh, even his voice is perfect.
What is wrong with him. He tears his gaze away. He can't seriously be thinking those things about someone he'd just met.
He hesitantly brings his gaze back up. The alpha, Chan, is looking around the hall and at the exact moment his gaze trails up, their eyes meet.
The alpha stutters for a moment but is soon getting back on track and Seungmin must be hallucinating, because he's sure he saw Chan's smile get wider. Yep, must be the heat.
It's autumn though.
But he's suddenly so hot and if he had a mirror, he's sure his body is flushed red. He turns to his friends, thinking something is wrong with him when he finds the other two in the same condition. They're staring at the stage too, so it can't be that they all suddenly got sick.
Have they been away from alphas their age so long that they react like this upon looking at them.
But they didn't have that reaction when they were passing students in the courtyard amd Seungmin most certainly did not react like that to any of the other council members.
He heard applause and another member talking into the mic. He tries his best to focus but all he can really remember are their names.
He's heard of them. Speaking of wealthy families, they're in the top ten. Their parents are quite acquainted and in normal circumstances, they would probably be beside them on the stage.
The principal had already talked to their parents about them joining the council. Since this school houses the nations wealthiest and most influential students and considering their excellent grades, it made sense for them to join the council.
Their parents had left it up to them and they'd asked for time to adjust first but with this new variable added, they might be taking up that offer sooner than they'd planned.
Everyone claps as they round up their speeches and thank goodness he's snapped out of his daze otherwise he'd be the only one sitting.
The ceremony goes smoothly after that and the assembly is dismissed. The three move only with the help of muscle memory and the crowd propelling them forward.
They find a bench in a quiet corner to sit and clear their heads. After a few minutes of this, Jisung turns to them.
“You both felt that too right”
“Yeah”
“Unfortunately”
He sighs, leaning back in the bench, “it was like fireworks, and I could have sworn Minho looked at me too”
“Same!”, the other two shout, looking at him with wide eyes.
His eyes narrow and he shifts back, shooting them a questioning look.
“With Minho…?”
“No, no”, they rush to clarify and after making sure that they didn't all just fall in love with the same alpha, they breathe a sigh of relief and start gushing about the sudden experience.
“It was like an explosion went off in my heart and my body was on fire, Jisung says.
“My brain just shut off when I saw Hyunjin, like I couldn't think at all”, Felix adds.
They both turn to Seungmin, awaiting the youngers input.
He sighs, “well it was weird, that's for sure, but also strangely calming, like all the junk in my head just went poof, gone.”
The three of them sat there for a moment, staring into space with identical dazed expressions before collectively letting out dreamy sighs.
“They were super hot and all, but also just felt right. Even the other two. I don't think I've ever not been out of by an alpha so quickly”
Felix hums in response. Usually, they're on guard whenever they meet a new alpha. Especially since the school shut down.
Even their own fathers had learned to approach carefully, giving them space until they felt comfortable. Yet somehow, five strangers had walked onto a stage and every instinct telling them to stay guarded had simply... disappeared.
“Anyways”, Seungmin says, getting off the bench with huff, “Let’s go, I wanna see the school before we leave”.
They take a walk around the school, noting where things are like the field and gym.
Soon enough, they're going home again.
As their cars carried them home,
each omega found his thoughts drifting back to a single face.
One glance.
One heartbeat.
Somehow, five strangers had accomplished what no one else had since the academy they'd left behind.
They'd lowered walls built from fear.
Chan walked into the student council room, only half listening to whatever Changbin was saying.
Those eyes…
Who was that?
