Work Text:

Dean walked through the streets of the bustling city, and there it was, across the road, the small green and blue florist. Sam had asked Dean to stop by on the way to his place and grab some, Andy's favourite apparently, dean hadn't exactly put Andy down as a flowers kinda guy, but Sammy asked so he went.

The small gold bell on the door rang softly as Dean stepped inside. The store smelt like pollen and soil, it was empty, quiet. Shelves of small colourful potted plants lined the walls, and larger ones, boarder lining on trees, filled the back corner. Dean felt like he'd stepped into some kind of tropical jungle.

The door that led into the back room swung open and out stepped the most gorgeous man Dean had ever laid eyes on, his hair looked like he'd just got out of bed, in sexist way possible, and those eyes, they were a bright sapphire blue. Then they met his, it felt like Dean had just locked eyes with some kind of royal, a god or an angel.

"Hello, can i help you with anything?" his voice was gentle yet rough.

Dean cleared his throat, which was feeling partially dry now.

"Um, yeah yeah, I need some Daffodils for my brother's fiance, ya know the yellow ones with the spout. " he regretted the words the second they left his lips.

Spout??? Dean what are you doing? he thought to himself.

The beautiful man laughed softly,

"You mean the corona, the cup bit." God his smile was other worldly.

"Yeah right," Dean replied.

As the man moved to the left side of the store, Dean caught a glimpse of his name tag pinned to his apron. A small piece of yellow plastic with the name Castiel in black letters printed on it.

"Castiel? what sort name is that?" Dean blurted out without thinking.

Castiel chuckled again,

"Yeah, my parent's are… unique" he said as he picked up a large bouquet of Daffodils from a brown bucket on one of the shelves.

Then he moved over to behind the till, and scanned the barcode. Five dollars, Dean pulled out his wallet.

"Anything else i can get you?" Castiel asked.

"No" Dean said as he handed over the money and took the flowers, his hand gentle brushing against Castiel's fingers.

"Okay well have a nice d-"

"Actually," Dean cut him off before he could stop himself,

"Could i get your number?"

Castiel's cheeks went a soft rosy colour,

"I umm, yes, yes"

Deans stomach did a backflip, how the hell did he pull this off.

the two exchanged numbers, and awkward smiles.

"Dean by the way, I'll call ya," Dean said with a stupid smirk, before walking out of the store with the flowers, and now this gorgeous guys number.
