Work Text:
Allaslen cuts carrots alone in her kitchen and thinks of the ages of heroes. Those bygone eras, where magic existed and the world was wider. It was more dangerous then, she knows, but it must have been so much more exciting than this. Or maybe not. There has always been dull work. She knows better than to imagine otherwise.
It’s not like Allaslen works with bad people, mostly. The work is just unbearably tedious, and neither her friends nor her love can quite change that. When she was young, she had such high hopes for the world. These days, it is only because of her dear Mina that she has any hope left to her at all.
Mina is a burst of sunlight in the winter of the world. Truly, she brings joy wherever she goes. To Allaslen, Mina is just as magical as any of those heroes of old.
