I dont think that the story will be able to explain the settings and shit so ill just do it now :D
In this au dandy was originally supposed to be taught how toons were made, but every time he was supposed to be taught, things happened and he was forever unable to understand how toons were made
instead of some big incidents happening that made GardenVeiw shut down, Arthur died before the event toons were made (they do not exist because of this 😢 but all the other toons do)
the toons were supposed to be killed by delilah after GardenVeiw shut down, but she sent the toon handlers to do it for money
the toon handlers said theyd do it, but when they got to GardenVeiw, they told the toons what happened, and gave Dyle the money Delilah gave them to keep shit going
now the way the toons make money is to go on runs and complete machines
there are NO twisteds.....yet
the main thing for this au is that if a toon looses their will to live, they turn into twisteds, or if they get injured to the point of death
anddddd yeah
a little more context,
dandy does have a shop in the lobby but mostly its just like
hey sprout you want some flour for your kitchen, ok here thats a neccesity
or
hey shelly you want some materials to make dolls or something, ok just do a run to floor 7 and ill give it to you
the same with dyle, but mostly people go to dyle for neccesities and dandy for things that they want
dandys shop in the ele just asks how your doing and if you want any items and if dandy has said item
for example if poppys in the ele at floor 2 and she wants a bop dandy will say,
sorry poppy i dont have a bop, want a pop instead?
but if shes at floor 184 dandy will be like,
ofc have a bop!
(Because there are no twisteds, YET, all the medical items go to the infirmary)
Dandys relationships with the toons are quite good because he didnt have a part in the closing of GardenVeiw
Vee and Dandy, while they still dislike each other, aren't entirely on bad terms, theres not really a reason to compete with each other because, i mean like, no reason to get more popular if gardenview is fucking closed
theres still arguments from time to time between toons, buttttt its all good
also the reason why a bunch of the toons are aroace is because they werent built to specifically fall in love, while they can build friendships with each other most of them can't understand love
