Severitus oneshots

Summary:

a collection of one shot type chapters inspired by O Mine Enemy by KirbyLane because I can't like anything a normal amount

NOTICE: I enjoy the fanfic that inspired this as well as the Harry Potter media and some of the Fan base, I in no way support the actions of J.K Rowling or what she stands for!

Notes:

Hello my loves! I read O Mine Enemy and omg I literally cannot stop thinking about it!! So I thought what else could I do besides writting a fanfic about a fanfic >< giving you all fanfic inception-

Anyways this is just like abunch of little things that I would’ve loved to see in the original so I decided to take matters into my own hands and feed the people! (And myself) I'm still holding out hope that maybe this stuff will be seen in the sequel cause Kirbys writting is def like 10x better than mine BUT in the meantime I plan to contribute what I can lol Q^Q

There's not specific time line for this fic but this chapter takes place 2 weeks after the second to last chapters! So like a week or 2 before Dumbledore asked Snape to Adopt Harry I hope everyone enjoys! This is my first time writting a fic for a fic so I have no idea if I'm doing this right-

(See the end of the work for more notes.)

Chapter 1: the blood quill

Chapter Text

It had only been 2 weeks since Snape had agreed to teaching Harry potions in hopes that he could take his as one of his NEWT's, and personally Harry thought it was going well. They had to go over a lot of stuff from previous years since well...his history in the class and with the professor was even worse than most students at hogwarts, but despite that the Professor hadn't yet told him that it was a waste of his time. Which in the end, is all Harry could hope for.

Currently Harry was working on chopping ingredients without giving away the fact that he was moderately watching his teacher. Not in a weird way, he had just picked up the habit of trying to make sure he wasn't in pain again. Which granted Harry had managed to remove the dark mark, still the thought that dark magic could possible still be in Snapes body at any given moment -or something else equally as painful or possibly deadly- brought no small amount of anxiety.

If Sape noticed the frequent glances he didn't mention it. "Uh, professor? I think I'm ready to add the rest of the ingredients." Snape looked up, abandoning the parchment he was currently writing on in favor of coming to stand next to harrys desk. "Very well. Add the thorn apple then stir for 2 minutes counter clockwise before adding the frogs tongue."

Harry nodded grabbing the stirring stick in his right hand and reaching for the thorn apple with his left. Thinking nothing of it until he felt a shift in the air as Snape went a little more ridged than his usual already stiff posture.

"Um. Is everything alright sir? I didn't mess up already did I?" He asked nervously, just great. All he needed was to mess up their second ever lesson and get kicked out for wasting Snapes time. The professor didn't say anything just grabbed Harry's left hand by the wrist as he still clung to the plant. "What is this?" He asked incredulously staring at the back of Harry's hand
.
Despite his momentary confusion Harry quickly realized what he was talking about. The shallow scar on the back of his hand from detention last year with Umbridge. "Oh, it's really nothing." He said attempting to pull his hand back. Snape didn't let him, keeping his wrist firmly in his own larger hand.

"I didn't ask if it was nothing I asked what it was." He said again his tone indicating that he wasn't going to let Harry drop this without some form of satisfactory answer. "It's really nothing, just a scar from last year. Honestly I forget I have it most of the time, it's hardly noticeable." He half shrugged finally managing to pull his hand back, still holding on to the thorn apple in hopes the conversation would end at that. But he knew Snape well enough to know that it wouldn’t.

Snape sighed clearly getting annoyed. "For the love of Merlin, where did you get the scar Potter?" Harry was split on what to say, on one hand Umbridge was gone now so its not like telling Snape made any difference, aside from the fact that his teacher would probably blow the incident out of proportion. But on the other hand Harry knew Snape wouldn't stop pressing until he answered his question. Truthfully.

He decided on the latter just to get it over with. " I got it last year, in detention with Professor Umbridge." He muttered begrudgingly. Snape didn't let anything show on his face ae he thought, at least, it would appear that way to any other student. Or professor if they didn't know what to look for, however Harry wasn't any other student or professor, and even if he wouldn't mention it he didn't miss the small crease that appeared on the other mans forhead betraying his otherwise neutral expression.

After what felt like at least ten minutes -but was probably closer to 10 seconds- Snape finally spoke up again. "Kneader did mention you telling him about a blood quill Umbridge used in her detentions." He said thoughtfully eyes still trained on the black of Harry's hand.

Shifting slightly under the professors gaze he turned further to the desk infront of himself. Right, he had completely forgotten about that part of the conversation he'd overhead. The whole night had been thoroughly overshadowed by his fear of his best friends possible death.

"Yeah well, it's really whatever. Like I said I forget it's there most of the time. It's hardly even visible, that's probably why no one else notices it either." He muttered his fingers finding one of the leafs of his ingredients and rubbing it between his fingers nervously. Snape didn't say anything else just turned and headed for his desk opening one of the drawers and pulling out a small bottle.

"Apply this twice a day, once in the morning once in the evening and it should be gone by the end of the week." He said setting the small bottle on the edge of Harry's desk. "Oh really professor I don't need-" he cut himself off at the glare on Snapes face. Not the time to argue I guess.

Picking up the vial he muttered a small "..thanks" before slipping it in one of the inner pockets of his robe. He turned back to his potion before getting an idea "Hey professor?" He asked looking back up at the man who was already walking back to his desk.

Snape took one look at his face before "Even I know you are not foolish enough to think it would work on your other scar." He said plainly Harry just shrugged rolling his eyes "It was worth a shot." He muttered finally starting to add the ingredients into his culdren.

The rest of the night was fairly quiet though Harry didn't miss Snapes watching eye. He had noticed it a few times when he went to sneak a glance of his own at the man and found him already watching him despite his seeming focus on whatever he was writting.

Harry couldn't help the small smile that found its way to his face, it was nice. Knowing that someone cared about something seemingly so small, and he found himself wishing it would happen more often.
