Wemmbu was in trouble, like big trouble.
It was three days ago when a strange invisible man had showed up at Wemmbu’s house. He had threatened Eggchan’s life and after Wemmbu had protected his best friend, the mysterious blue trimmed guy decided to go after Wemmbu first.
It had been three days of fighting, escaping, and then finding Egg to make sure he was okay.
He was exhausted; they both were.
The blue trimmed invisible guy was relentless and after running away from another fight with half armor and an inventory that would probably throw anyone with OCD into cardiac arrest. Wemmbu reunited with his best friend once again.
Eggchan was concerned for Wemmbu but there wasn’t much either of them could do, Wemmbu had lost his last enderchest somewhere and couldn’t regear. It was the end of the line.
“Egg bro, I can’t even regear, we’re cooked.” Wemmbu said as he slid down the cave wall they had found to escape the heavy rain outside.
“Bro how did you run out of supplies don’t you have like... a lot of stuff?” Eggchan asked while watching his exhausted friend.
“Well yeah, but i lost my E-chest, I can’t regear.” the purple cat hybrid explained.
“Oh, you need an E-chest? Why didn’t you just say that, bro I have one.” Eggchan realized and placed down a shulker he started to look through.
“Wait what?! You've had one this entire time and didn’t tell me?!” Wemmbu exclaimed, his uninjured wing spreading out in surprise.
“Yeah bro, here.” Egg said as he gave him an enderchest.
Wemmbu was very glad; he immediately placed it down and started going through all his shulkers and gearing up.
The whole reason he wasn’t able to defeat the invisible player was because at the beginning the guy would teleport away when Wemmbu was about to kill him and then after that his gear got whittled down bit by bit.
Now Wemmbu was able to defeat him for sure!
The sinister grin Wemmbu produced made a shiver go down Eggchan’s spine. Egg had gotten used to how bloodthirsty Wemmbu could get when he realized he had the power to kill someone who had wronged either of them. But sometimes it still kind of unnerved him.
That was when Wemmbu paused, his purple cat ears twitching towards further in the cave.
The two of them stilled, the rain outside replacing the silence that would have been.
Wemmbu’s face dropped.
Eggchan knew what this meant. They weren’t alone in this cave.
“Stay back” Wemmbu whispered to Egg as he crept closer towards the cave.
As Wemmbu went deeper in, he took notice of every sound around him, his sword ready in his right hand.
What he found he didn’t understand at first.
There were two small figures shivering next to each other at the very end of the cave.
Wemmbu realized after a second that they were probably kids that got stuck in the rain and entered the cave for safety.
He wasn’t sure what to do at first, the two kids silently shivered and clung to each other like their lives depended on it.
Which it probably did, as from what Wemmbu could see from the lack of light they didn’t look too great.
Egg poked his head out from where he was hiding once he realized it was silent.
“yo bro what’s going on, i can’t see anything.” he asked as the giant floating eyeball above his head looked around helplessly.
“Uhm... there’s two kids here.” Wemmbu said crossing his arms.
“there’s what?!” Eggchan exclaimed as he entered the space.
“Kids, over there.” Wemmbu said, pointing towards the two huddled together.
The two were unconscious, from what Wemmbu could see they both were cat hybrids just like him.
He crept closer, a little unsure how to feel about this. The two kids looked both kinda similar but had different distinct characteristics.
They both had chocolatey brown skin, lots of cuts and bruises, shabby clothes, and they both looked rather malnourished.
Their differences were that the older of the two had black hair and a wound across his face and over his eyes while the smaller, younger one had blond hair and one of his ears had a cut through it. And the most noticeable difference of all was that the older one was a tiger hybrid, while the younger was a lion hybrid.
“they’re probably related, but not siblings.” Wemmbu commented.
“Bro how are you seeing anything, it’s too dark in here.” Egg asked.
The question was ignored as Wemmbu approached the sleeping children.
“What are you doing?” Egg asked, squinting his eyes.
“I don’t know.” Wemmbu’s voice came out soft, surprising his friend.
Wemmbu crouched down and picked up the two kids and carried them easily in his arms.
They’re so light, he thought as he turned back towards the cave entrance.
“Uh Wemmbu?” His best friend questioned.
“Come on, we need to get them home.” Wemmbu said as if it made total sense.
“Who is we!? What are you doing?” Egg exclaimed though quietly so as not wake the children up.
“we’re bringing them home with us.” Wemmbu answered.
“Who is us?! I want to make sure they’re okay yeah, but we do not have the capabilities to take care of children!”
Wemm didn’t reply, he just continued towards the entrance.
Wemmbu didn’t really understand either why he was so keen on bringing these kids home, but he had a strong feeling that he needed to. Maybe it was the fact they were also cat hybrids but he wasn’t sure.
He flew through the heavy rain keeping the two close, Egg wasn’t too far behind either.
When they finally arrived home Wemmbu placed them on the couch and turned to Egg.
“Watch over them. I'm finishing this.” and with that he was back flying through the rain
