Work Text:

"I'm so sick of vamps." Dean groaned, taking the cap off yet another beer.

"Aren't we all?" Sam asked rhetorically.

Dean turned his focus to Cas, who was sitting in the back seat, resting. Despite his grace, he was still healing very slowly. "You good, man?"

"Yes. I will be."

"We should get back to the bunker. You can rest there, alright? Definitely better than here."

Cas nodded.

The brothers finished their beers quickly and began to get into Baby.

Dean had already gotten in, but Sam stopped when he heard a strange sound.

"What's wrong, Sammy?" Dean asked.

"D'you hear that?"

"Ghost? Demon? What is it?"

"I can feel something too." Cas said. "I don't know what it is. Not from Earth." He cocked his head to one side.

"I can't explain. Don't know how to describe it. Sort of like-"

Vworp! Vworp! Vworp!

Something began materialising itself into existence several metres in front of Baby.

What the fuck?

It looked like a 1960s UK police box, but different somehow. Dean cautiously got out of Baby and pointed his gun at it, as if it would do anything. Hopefully bullets would work with whoever comes out of that thing.

The doors opened, and out came some weird looking British man with suspenders and a bow tie.

"Dean!" The man exclaimed. "I need to speak with your fiancée about wedding presents. What would you and him like?"

Dean was dumbfounded. Also disgusted. "That's my brother. What are you taking about?" Why do people always assume they're together?

"What? No. Your fiancée. You know, with the beige trench coat and the suit? The deep voice? Castiel."

The hunter looked to Cas in the backseat. He was too weak to get out, so he was just letting the hunters handle it. Unless, of course, things went sideways and the newcomer starts attacking them. "Cas? Fiancée? What are you talking about, sir? And who are you?"

"Ah. See, I think there's been a misunderstanding. Wrong year, you see-"

"Tell me." Dean shot a warning bullet next to the man's feet, making him jump in fright.

"I'm the Doctor." He said.

"Doctor who?" Sam asked.

"Just the Doctor. Nothing else."

"Okay. Now what are you talking about?"

"Well, in the future-"

"Ah, ah, ah." Some woman with curly hair came up behind the Doctor and covered his hand with her mouth. "Spoilers." She said with a smile.

"And who are you?" Dean asked. He still hadn't lowered his gun.

"Like I just said, spoilers." She repeated. "But I guarantee you will run into us again soon. Come on, sweetie." The Doctor and the mysterious woman went back inside their blue box and shut the door. After a few seconds, the blue box made the same sound as before - vworp vworp vworp - and faded out again.

"What the fuck?" Dean said what they were both thinking. Sam, of course, was thinking other things as well. He looked at Dean with a raised eye. "What?" He asked when he noticed his brother.

"Nothing." He lied.

"Sammy! Tell me."

"Back at the bunker." Sam tried to hold back a laugh, unsuccessfully.

Dean also couldn't stop thinking about the fact this doctor called Cas his fiancée. What kind of a doctor was he anyway? They got in Baby and drove straight home, Dean deflecting Cas' questions while Sam laughed.

"Seriously, guys. What did he want? Who was he?"

"Fiancée!" Sam giggled, wiping a lone tear from his eye.

"You shut you mouth."

"Fiancée? Whose fiancée? To whom?"

"It doesn't matter, Cas." Dean couldn't hold back his blush as much as he tried. "Drop it, okay?"

Cas sat back in his seat. And through the fabric in his suit pocket, a ring dug into his leg.
