Work Text:

Steve Harrington was having a terrible day. His coffee machine had decided to declare war, his alarm hadn't gone off, his beemer made a few lovely and threatening noises this morning, and there were far too many obnoxious people at Family Video today. He was having a trying time.
It was about 5 pm when he got home. He had to fight his car door to get it open, and that didn't really help with his mood. Steve was ready to find his shitty beer and drink a few too many bottles. He stepped into the darkened hallway and raised a brow. Normally, his hallway was bright and homey. Right now, it wasn't.
"Hello?" Steve called. "I'm—uh... I'm home!"
"Kitchen, Stevie!" Eddie Munson, one of his boyfriends, shouted.
"Mhm!" Steve returned, shrugging off his family video vest. He kicked off his shoes and slipped into the kitchen. The sight that greeted him made him pause.
Flour. Everywhere: the walls, the floor, the countertop. There were chocolate chips clustered around a bowl that was being scooped out of. Eddie and Billy Hargrove, his other boyfriend, were leaning on the counter by the oven, which was baking something. They had spoons in their hands and were licking *cookie dough* off the spoons. Flour was in Eddie's bangs, and Billy's golden curly mullet was tangled as if he had been dragging his fingers through it. Eddie looked up and beamed. He had melted chocolate on his cute little cheek.
"Hey, babe!" Eddie chirped, walking over, his long, dark curls bouncing. He held out a third spoon, lovingly filled with sweet, creamy cookie dough. Steve's mouth watered before he could gripe at them for making a mess of the kitchen he had just cleaned like, two days ago. Eddie grinned. "Want some... dough?"
"Looks like he does," Billy said, sauntering over with a self-satisfied smirk. His soft lips met Steve's forehead. Steve smiled, even though Billy's face was covered in dough. "Welcome home, baby. We figured you might want some cookies."
"How did you know?" Steve asked. Eddie gave him a Look. a look that said, "Baby, you are too easy to read."
"Your jaw was tight right before you left for work, sweet cheeks," Eddie said, patting Steve's cheek. Steve gabbed and motioned his hand away. Billy rolled his crystal blue eyes and licked his spoon.
"So, do you want the spoon or not?" Billy asked. Steve sighed and reached his hand out. Eddie took the spoon back.
"Ah-ah-ah!" Eddie crooned. "What's the magic word, pretty boy?"
"'Eddie Munson is the Best?'" Steve offered. Eddie giggled, eyes sparkling with glee.
"I would've accepted 'please,' but I think that's quite alright," Eddie decided, handing the spoon over. Steve leaned against the counter with lanky Eddie on his right and solid Billy on his left, his foot tapping as he licked the spoon.
"Thanks," Steve managed between bites. Billy sighed happily and leaned harder against him.
"Knew you'd like it," Billy boasted softly. Eddie rolled his eyes.
"I came up with the idea to make you feel better, though," Eddie retorted gently, nudging Steve as well, like a loving cat.
"Well, I came up with the cookie idea!" Billy snapped. Eddie rolled his eyes and crossed his arms, being careful of the still-dirty spoon.
"Yeah, but I came up with the dough idea, *and* I found the recipe!" Eddie added sharply. Steve rolled his eyes fondly.
"You *both* helped," Steve corrected gently. Billy deflated, and Eddie sighed. They both leaned closer against Steve. "Thanks."
"You're welcome," Eddie and Billy chorused.
The oven dinged, and Eddie lit up, nearly vibrating with excitement. Steve smiled and backed up from the oven. Eddie slipped on brand new oven mitts. *Are those demon oven mitts?* Steve wondered. Eddie opened the oven and snagged the cookies, sliding the tray onto the stovetop. Billy grabbed three nice glasses and filled them with milk. Steve crossed his arms and leaned back, supervising his boys. Eddie and Billy spotted the cookies and high-fived.
"Hell yeah!" Eddie exclaimed. Billy puffed out his broad chest.
"We're the best bakers ever," Billy boasted. Steve cleared his throat and raised a brow. Billy deflated and cleared his throat. "Other than Steve."
"Other than Steve," Eddie echoed. He turned his attention back to the cookies and picked one up.
"Let them cool," Steve warned sharply. Eddie rolled his big, doe-like eyes.
"I'll be fine," Eddie said.
"You'll burn your tongue."
"That will be future Eddie's problem."
Eddie immediately burned his tongue, and Billy laughed at him, clutching his stomach and pointing. Steve sighed. "Why do I trust you two with anything?" Steve mumbled rhetorically. Billy threw his arm around Steve's shoulders. "Because we are incredibly charming?" Billy offered. Steve rolled his eyes, but a smile tugged at his lips. "Sure, fine," Steve decided. "Now let's wait a bit." "Mhm," Billy mumbled, holding Steve close. Steve raised his brow. "Did you miss me, big guy?" Steve asked. Billy nodded, eyes blissfully closed. "Missed you a lot," Billy mumbled into his neck. Steve felt himself melt like warm butter. "Missed you, too, baby," Steve returned. "Ew, feelings," Eddie mumbled, still sullen about his aching tongue. Steve kissed Eddie's cheek. Eddie beamed. "You like my feelings," Steve teased softly. Eddie crossed his arms. "Maybe I do; maybe I don't," Eddie said. Steve tugged both his boys out of the kitchen so they wouldn't be tempted by the cooling cookies. # # # A bit later, Steve wasn't entirely sure how much later due to the fact that he was cuddling Billy and Eddie, whose faces were tucked against his neck, whose arms were overlapping around his waist, and whose legs were tangled with his own; Steve looked up at a timer dinging. "Babes," Steve mumbled. "Cookies." "Cookies," Billy mumbled, half-asleep. "Cookies," Eddie agreed, similarly lethargic. "Get up," Steve said, poking them. "We gotta get cookies." "Mmm, cookies," Billy mumbled. Steve managed to shove them to the side and crawl out of the people pile. Steve shook his foot loose and padded greedily into the kitchen. He grabbed a glass of milk and the best-looking cookie there was. He dipped the cookie in his glass of milk and took a bite. The rich, creamy flavor and lovely texture exploded in his mouth. He nearly moaned over the taste. "Ohhh, my God," Steve mumbled, mouth still full of cookie. "Eddie! Billy! You're geniuses!" "Whuh happened?" Eddie slurred just as Billy muttered, "I know." "The cookies! They're perfect!" Steve called. Eddie and Billy stumbled into the room, slightly more awake. Steve saw the moment the smell snapped them back into reality. "Oooh," Billy said, eyes going wide. Eddie moaned over the smell and scrambled over, picking up a cookie and shoving it into his mouth. Billy also picked up a cookie and dipped it in milk with surgical precision before taking a careful bite. Billy clenched his jaw. Steve knew he was trying not to make a silly noise. "You like the cookies, Billy?" Steve teased gently, leaning against the counter with his cookie. Billy clenched his jaw further. "Yeah," he muttered. "What was that?" Steve asked sweetly. Billy rolled his eyes and leaned forward, placing a kiss on Steve's mouth. Steve made a surprised little noise. "I like the damn cookies," Billy murmured against Steve's lips. "You're lucky you're cute when you're teasing people." "Mhm," Steve said happily, kissing back. Eddie rolled his eyes and shoved a second cookie into his mouth, chasing it with a large gulp of milk. Steve's lips separated from Billy's, and he sighed against him. "You loooove meee," Steve crooned. Billy rolled his eyes. "Sure, sure," Billy said. "You like your cookies, princess?" "Love them," Steve said, looking up into Billy's eyes. "I feel much better now." "Good," Billy said, wrapping his arm around Steve's waist. Eddie kissed Steve's cheek. "Love you, Stevie," Eddie chirped. "Love you, Eds," Steve whispered. "What am I? A roach?" Billy said. Steve rolled his eyes. "You're my pretty California boy. Love you, Bills," Steve said. Billy smiled. "Love you, too."
