Chapter Text
Clink clink!
The sound of chains echoed in the harsh silence and a woman smiled. Dusts of a forever bygone, it settles around the two before vibrating violently, making the air hard to breathe in. The dust coated their surroundings, darkening the sky and blocking the bright sun—for until time breaks.
"See you." She said, her breaths coming in quick. She stumbled over to the scarred person, wrapping her arms around them lazily. Her hair was ragged and short—unlike the days before. "See ya. Meet you soon." She added, closing her eyes for the last time. She slumped over, falling to the cracked ground. The cursed energy flailed and attached itself to Yuji, expanding and contracting into itself until even the Six eyes couldn't detect it.
Yuji crouched down and lightly touched her face, his calloused hands a far contrast to her face. "Mm. Yeah, see you too." He whispered, catching her shoulders to hold her in his arms, for the last time.
"Couldn't change anything without you. Thank you." Yuji chuckled, tears forming in his golden eyes. He wiped his tears and sighed, patting the others head. The wind blew hot, ruffling their hair.
'cough cough'
"Now or never." He declared, slowly putting the woman's body away, laying her down. He made sure her body was relaxed in its position, crossing her arms in an 'X' pattern over her chest. She was wearing all black, a jacket slinged around her waist. Yasue was always a 'no show skin' type of person, she always overdressed and somehow kept looking good in it.
"Tales of young told tales of old, forgotten and remade. Bring light to the dusts of snowstorms and make it spring." He muttered, a red ball of cursed energy forming with the wisps of leftover cursed energy. Yuji breathed out and relaxed his posture, putting a hand out.
"Forbidden technique: ab exitu ad initium"
Yuji never knew why she always liked learning other languages, guess she just liked to make her technique sound fancy.
Tick tock, tick tock.
"Itadori! You should take those two and run!"
"But aren't you in danger too?—"
Everything felt watered down. His limbs felt like it was moving, he couldn't feel them. Was it moving?
...
"Just give it to me!"
....Right. He was going to get swallowed.
Crunch!
'yep! It still tastes like shit!' Yuji thought absentmindedly.
'I just need to follow the plan, easy.'
The urge to kill and destroy bloomed in his mind, swirling it around like a whirlpool threatening to swallow him whole in its negativity. Empty space filled his chest, nagging and banging to be let out. Yuji pushed all of it down, using Yasue's overwhelming cursed energy and pushing the darkness into itself, crushing it to an afterthought. Screams grated his ears, giving him a migraine.
'now that I can destroy his soul, I need to play the part.' Yuji was prepared, he had this plan for a long while, perfecting it with Yasue.
Yuji slumped over, letting the darkness absorb his mind, the familiar empty space nowhere to be found. The markings of Sukuna materialized on his face, burning with cursed energy. He grinned, the plan was entirely a theory, and yet everything was going to plan. He let a cackle, half-heartedly sending out a dismantle to the opposing curse, words flowing out like instinct, he rehearsed every line a million times over.
"HAHA!"
He could feel Megumi's whirling spin of dread, he wanted to comfort him and tell him that he's got this, to give him reassurances, and tell Nobara he's sorry.
"The moonlight is supposed to be felt! That curses flesh is too weak." He continued, feeling his flesh split in two below his eyes.
"WHERES THE HUMANS? THE WOMEN!" He turned around to step on the railing, staring down before looking up, this place is giving him massive amounts of nostalgia.
"This era is really nice, children and woman crawling around like maggots! It'll be a massacre!" He cackled, turning his laughs down and suppressing the darkness once more. God, he hoped he really didn't become like Sukuna! He stumbled back, just remembering he was just on the edge of the railings.
The markings faded away, and so did his laughs. "That was weird." He said truthfully, the feeling of that darkness rising and lowering, it felt like getting stabbed slowly. Good thing he has experience of that.
He waited for Megumi to say the next words.
"You're no longer human.." he muttered, eyes narrowing, sweat dripping down as he shakily clenched his fists.
"Don't move!" He commanded, his voice cracking every so slightly. He put his fists infront of him. "According to the Jujustu law, Itadori Yuji.." shadows curled around his feet, his fist shaking as they slowly distanced from each other.
"As a curse, I will have to.. Exorcize you!" He finally declared, lowering himself into a crouch. "I'm fine! And we're both injured! Let's go to hospital." He raised his hands up, finally looking at Megumi. He had forgotten his face, well, this body hadn't really gotten acquainted with Fushiguro, and so did he.
Fushiguro gritted his teeth, he was conflicted. 'I can't tell if that's Itadori or Sukuna! Their cursed energy are the same! Damm it!' he thought, freezing up momentarily at the bright yet familiar voice.
"What's going on?" A cheery voice interrupted, a tall man with white hair and a black blindfold entered the rooftop, holding a bag of sweets. Fushiguro blinked, letting his hands drop as he turned around. "Gojo-sensei? What are you doing here." He questioned, widening his eyes at the man.
The man, who was named Gojo, turned to look at Fushiguro, putting a hand up. "I wasn't planning to come here, either.." He explained, letting his hand drop down as he leaned towards Megumi. "You're all roughed up." He pointed out the obvious. Searching in his pockets to get his phone, pulling out with a smirk.
"Let the second-years take a look!" He joked, moving in different positions as he took pictures with Fushiguro turning his back on him and squinting his eyes in annoyance, shielding his eyes with his arm.
"The higher-ups wouldn't stop nagging me," he added. Yuji was looking at the two.
'Man, i know this is Gojo-sensei but younger me doesn't know this guy!' he lamented, keeping a suprised face on while whining mentally. "—About the loss of a special grade object" he said, clicking on the phone, sending the photos to the second-years. "I was doing some sightseeing." He paused.
"So, did you find it?" He asked, turning his head up to gaze at Megumi, who looked away. Gojo perked at the other, who he forgot about.
"Aah.. about that." He stammered, raising hand up and pointing himself.
"I ate it." He confessed awkwardly.
'WOO! My acting is top tier! Haha!' Yuji mentally celebrated.
Silence stretched for a few seconds before the white haired man slowly turned to the pinkette. "Really?" He slowly asked.
"He did."
"I did."
Both Fushiguro and Itadori said, confirming what Yuji just said. Gojo raised an eyebrow, walking to Yuji and leaning way TOO close for comfort. Yuji backed up a little but Gojo leaned in again, he backed up and grinned. "You two really combined! I can't see Sukuna's cursed energy at all, that's hilarious!" He laughed to himself.
'ha, ha, funny Gojo-sensei.' Yuji deadpanned.
"Anything wrong? Like a voice in your head? Maybe urges to kill?" Gojo questioned, tilting his head to the side.
"No." He lied
"Can you give your body to Sukuna?"
"Sukuna?"
"The curse you just ate" he said.
"Well yeah, I guess." He replied, putting a hand on his hip. "Give us ten seconds" He commanded, stretching his legs. "After ten seconds, come back to us." He finished, handing the bag of kikufuku.
"But.." The pinkette interjected.
"Don't worry! I'm the strongest." He promised. "Here, catch." He threw the bag to Fushiguro, cracking his hands.
"Is this?.." Megumi trailed off. "It's kikufuku from kikusuian!" Gojo cheered, smiling while explaining.
'Sensei, you are so reckless.'
Yuji let the darkness consume him once more, feeling his body burn with the markings appearing on his person. 'ah.. I forgot to rip my jacket, goodbye jacket.'
He ripped his jacket apart, his Sukuna' markings finally fully materializing. He set his now 2 pairs of red eyes on the white haired man.
"—Home" he finished, raising his pointer finger. "BEHIND YOU!" Megumi warned, fear taking over again.
Sukuna(?) charged after Gojo, deciding to not come from above. He willed his claws to come, using it to swipe at the sorcerer, meeting nothing he felt a weight on his back. He looked up at Fushiguro, his face was blurry and a black box covered his face. Yuji felt like crying.
Sukuna(?) snarled, bringing his head down before grabbing the sorcerer's wrist, he touched infinity and Yuji almost snapped.
'I'm letting him affect me, that's not good!' Yuji panicked in the still logical part of his mind.
Yuji(?) still decided to try to throw Gojo away. He hissed, turning around to scratch him and finding nothing. He glanced at a blurry figure of white and black, running up and using dismantle; it sliced nothing.
He opted to keep running at the disappearing and reappearing white haired sorcerer, he looked like an idiot.
Sukuna whiped his head to the now reappeared sorcerer brat, he let out a perfunctory dismantle at his figure, finding him gone once again.
He swiped behind him, finding no one. The sorcerer reappeared behind him, craning his head back to Sukuna. "Since my student is here, I'm going to show off a little." He prompted. Sukuna turned around and reached for the sorcerer, finding his wrist getting stopped by the sorcerer bastard's hand.
Gojo spun him around, catching the on-coming fists. He backhanded the pinkette, with the curse spinning around in the air before the sorcerer hit him with his infinity, throwing Yuji away a couple of feet, destroying the rooftop in the proccess.
Sukuna grinned. "Hah! No matter the era, you sorcerers are still a pain!" He spat.
'I'm not even acting anymore.' Yuji realized.
He staggered in his movements, hearing Gojo-sensei count down.
"7.. 8.. 9.."
Yuji just needed to break the wall, right? He sent out a dismantle, effectively breaking it and revealing an unscathed Gojo and a sitting Megumi who was clutching the bag from earlier.
"It's almost done!"
The pinkette growled, suppressing the growing darkness in his chest. The markings burned away, leaving a lethargic Yuji. He breathed in and out.
"Ah.. are you okay?" He perked up, eyes wide. "I can't believe it! You really can control him!" Gojo said, shocked, a smile on his face. "But, I think I can see his memories" He winces, knocking on his head.
Gojo tilted his head, pausing for just a second. "His memories?" He furrowed his eyebrows. "What'd ya see?" He quirked, a smile gracing his lips once again. "Just red, red, red.. Its fragmented, I think?" He answered, his voice pitching in the end. He placed his hand on his nape sheepishly.
The white haired sorcerer approached Yuji while the teen was still rambling about seeing red, he put up to fingers and placed it on the teen's forehead, the pinkette's eyes rolling to the back of his head before slumping forward. "What did you do?" The blacked haired teen asked, eyeing the two.
"I put him to sleep," he explains, Megumi's posture slackens ever so slightly. "If he isn't possessed by Sukuna when he wakes up, he has the potential to be a 'vessel'." He adds, holding the teen under his arms. "So, I have a question: what should we do with him?" He asks, turning to Megumi.
The aforementioned boy sighs, putting his head down. "Even if he's a vessel, according to Jujutsu law, Itadori should be dead. But.." he trails off, his jaw tightening. "..I don't want him to die." he steels his resolve, looking up at Gojo-sensei with determination.
"Is that your personal feelings?"
"Yes. Please do something about it."
Gojo smiles, bending down to put Itadori on his shoulder. "Well since my precious student is asking,"
He grins, his teeth showing. "Leave it to me!" He put a thumbs up.
