Today was a beautiful day. The sun was shining, the flickies were singing, and Amy, Cream, and Cheese were having a picnic.
“Thank You again, Ms. Amy, for taking Cheese and I here.” Cream Chirped
“No problem, Cream, I love taking you places. Especially when I get to put my baking to use.” Amy replied
Amy grabbed three ham sandwiches and handed two to Cream.
“Here you go Cream.” Offered Amy as Cream and cheese gleefully took theirs.
As the two were about to take a bite of their sandwiches, they heard a noise. It was a small noise, like a cry of some sort. The sound had come from a few bramble bushes that weren't so far from Amy and Cream’s picnic blanket.
“Hey, what was that?” Questioned Amy
“It sounded like a Chao!” Exclaimed Cream
Cream sprang to her feet, dropping all her food in the process, and ran to the bramble bushes. Amy quickly followed after, to make sure Cream and Cheese didn’t get injured. Amy didn’t want an angry Vanilla on her hands.
“Cream, Cheese!! Wait up, I don’t want you guys to get hurt!” Amy yelped
Amy grabbed onto Cream’s arm, before Cream could jump into the bush
“But a Chao might be in trouble. Ms. Amy!” Cream cried
Eventually Cream wriggled out of Amy’s grasp and looked through all the brambles of the bushes. There she saw something that looked like a rabbit hole. Cream could hear the crying sounds of a Chao clearly echoing through it. That’s when Cream decided to dive into the rabbit hole, it was big enough for her and Cheese to comfortably squeeze through.
“CREAM, CHEESE!!!” Amy shrieked, as she saw Cream leap into the hole
Amy rushed to the bramble and squeezed through the hole. It was just big enough for her to fit through, though it still wasn’t comfortable. Amy crawled through the rabbit hole after Cream and Cheese.
“Cream, get back here!!” Amy yelped
When Amy finally reached the end of the rabbit hole, which felt like forever. After Amy squeezed out of the rabbit hole she ran to Cream and hugged her.
“Cream don’t scare me like that!”
“Im sorry Ms. Amy, bu-”
“You and Cheese could’ve gotten seriously hurt, and I would’ve gotten in serious trouble with your mother…” Amy sighed
“Ms. Amy! Look around!” Cream shouted at Amy
Amy let go of Cream and looked around. The place was beautiful, the grass was an emerald green color, and it had a shining crystal blue lake. Then Amy saw chao, lots of chao! Amy and Cream must’ve ended up in a Chao garden.
“Who knew a rabbit hole would lead to a Chao garden?” Amy questioned
“But look, this one is injured. That’s why we heard the crying noises!” Cream stated
Cream went over to the Chao that had a bruise on its head, and comforted it. Meanwhile Cheese went over to the waters, and Amy looked around at all the Chao in the oasis. It really was a nice Chao garden, and by the looks of it, nobody had discovered it yet. Amy started to reminisce on how she used to have a Chao. Back when Amy was much younger, she was found by the rabbit family.
When Amy was found by Mrs. Vanilla, Amy was just a child. Vanilla did the logical thing and took Amy in. While Amy was staying at Vanilla's house, she felt very… out of place. Vanilla noticed how Amy felt and found two Chao eggs and handed the brown to Amy. What followed was a small brown baby Chao, Amy was so happy and named the Chao, Chocola.
When Amy thought it was her time to leave, she felt she couldn’t take care of a Chao on her own. Amy felt guilty so she gave her Chao to Vanilla. Amy was snapped out of her thoughts when she felt a small tug on her dress. When Amy looked down and saw a small Chao that was the color pink, it also had red at the end of its hands and feet. Chao's emote ball was a heart.
“Awh! You’re so cute!” Amy cooed, as she patted the Chao’s head
The Chao giggled in delight and nuzzled Amy’s glove. Amy looked at Cheese and saw them playing in the water with another Chao. Amy felt a longing feeling, she hadn’t owned a Chao in years, she missed the feeling of it.
“There! Now this one is all better.” Cream grinned as the used to be injured Chao, now happy, flew off.
“Well Cream, I think we should go ahead and get back to our picnic!” Amy reminded Cream.
“Awh, but Ms. Amy, this place is filled with Chao!” Cream mentioned.
“Maybe we could come here another time, Cream, but for now we should get going. Go ahead and get cheese so we can go.” instructed Amy
Cream sighed, but she obeyed. Cream walked around looking for Cheese and calling their name. Eventually Cream saw Cheese in the water with another Chao.
“Cheese, come here, it’s time for us to go back to the picnic.” Cream called out to Cheese.
Cheese flew over to Cream, and Cream hugged them. Then, Cream walked near the rabbit hole. Cream turned back to look at Amy.
“Ms. Amy, are you coming?” Cream asked Amy
Amy was just standing there, looking at the water of the Chao garden. Amy was remembering all her adventures when she had Chocola. Some of Amy’s favorite memories were with Chocola. Then Amy looked down at the pink Chao who was currently cuddling Amy. Amy sighed and smiled, she then patted the Chao on the head.
“I'm coming, Cream!” Amy responded as she hurried to Cream.
After Amy and Cream crawled through the rabbit hole once again, they cleaned up the picnic and got ready to leave.
“Ms. Amy, this was the best picnic!” Cream beamed
“Because of the Chao garden?” Amy chuckled
Amy and Cream started walking off
“Ms. Amy, would you like to have dinner with me and mother?” Cream asked
Amy thought for a bit, she didn’t really need to think about it, because she always enjoyed a meal with Vanilla. The real reason Amy was stalling was because she wanted to do something once she got home. Eventually Amy decided to agree, since it wouldn't take too long to just eat dinner.
“Sure, Cream, I always love a good dinner at your house!” Amy replied
Once Amy and Cream got to Vanilla’s house they were greeted with a smile.
“Cream, Cheese, Amy! How was your picnic?” Vanilla asked sweetly
“It was great, mother! Amy, Cheese, and I found a Chao garden!” Cream beamed
“Oh, really? Well girls come right inside.” Vanilla Smiled
“Thank you again, Ms. Vanilla, for having me.” Amy thanked
“It’s no problem, dear, I love having you here.” Vanilla informed
The meal was simple spaghetti and meatballs but it was delicious. After the dinner, Amy excused herself and left. Amy did feel a little guilty for leaving, but she really wanted to do something. Once Amy got to the place she wanted, she went through the rabbit hole. Amy was revisiting the Chao garden.
When Amy went in, she saw all the Chao peacefully resting. Amy’s gaze shifted to the pink Chao. She was definitely coming back in the morning.
