Chapter Text

Verity was standing in front of Mob, the gun pointed at him. "So that's it? I'm just stuck with you?" Mob asks with hopelessness in his voice. "You're not stuck. Let's do this together! Put the gun down instead-" A loud bang echoes through Verity's 'home'. Mob had turned the gun around and shot himself. Verity stares at Mob's lifeless body, still processing what just happened. Then he feels it.. Tears? He is an ai, he can't cry nor feel emotions, so why the hell is he crying? Verity tried to roll up to Mob's body, but suddenly finds himself back in the box. The box where Mob found him and changed everything. Well, this time it's not Mob. He hears someone outside and says his typical lines. "Hello? Hello? Anyone there?" The person outside answers in a confused voice. "Where is that sound coming from? Is it the box?" Of course it's that stupid idiot friend of Mob. That Grox guy.
The box opens and Verity falls onto the floor. "Ayo chill. What is this?" He bounces for a moment before continuing. "Hello! I'm Verity! Your personal helper friend. Ask me anything, I know everything." "You know everything??" Is he stupid? "I bet!" Verity is back to his cheerful attitude. Like the thing with Mob never happened, but no. He can't let that happen. "Alright, firstly, how can I torture villagers the best way?" Grox asks, but Verity doesn't answer. Instead, he makes a weird face. "I will not let this happen." "Let what happen?" Before Grox could say anymore he suddenly gets knocked out.

As he wakes up, he finds himself tied up in a chair and Verity sitting across from him. He looks more human, but still has his ball head. "What the hell?" Grox tries to move, but the rope is unbelievably tight. Now that he looks at himself, he has Mob's clothes on and some glasses that look like Mob's eyes on his head. "Verty or whatever. What is this?" Grox asks confused. "It's Verity. Oh, I just want you to impersonate Mob.. you know him and you know how he acts." Verity answers. "Aren't you like his little pet? Why dont you just go to him?*" Verity stands up and slams his hands on the table. "That's not important! You don't wanna know what happens if you don't do it." He pulls a knife out of the pocket of his suit (how the hell did that get there?) and stabs it into the table, clearly showing his intentions. "Okay chill!!" Grox tries to back away. "NO!" Verity yells angrily. "F-Fine ill do it." He gives in. "Good, Glad that we understand eachother." Verity smiles creepily. The next few days Verity forced Grox to recreate Mob's whole base and even the lookout. And Grox was getting hella tired of it. Mob build that, Mob do this. Mob, Mob, Mob. He isn't Mob. It's like he's loosing his identity. "Mob, come here." Verity cheerfully sang. Grox walks up to him. "What is it?" He hissed with annoyance in his voice. "Is someone grumpy?" Verity keeps the cheerfulness in his voice. Grox doesn't answer. "I guess no answer. So anyway, what do you think about going a little mining? You're almost out of diamonds and iron!" "Not really..." Grox looks away while Verity sighs. "Fine, what do you want to do then?" Groxs face suddenly turns to a hopefull expression. Verity never asked him want he wants to do. And he was always too scared to ask. "I want to turn a village into a-" "no." Verity cuts him off. There's no villages. You don't need any villages or villagers.. you have me." "Of course.." Grox turns away from Verity towards his house. "Stupid yellow ball freak." Grox mumbles to himself, without knowing Verity heard it. "He will learn to appreciate me someday." Verity tries to convince himself.

A few hours later Verity walks up to Grox who is looking through his chest, trying to find stuff because he keeps loosing track of where stuff is since Verity keeps 'organising' everything. "Hey Mob.. wanna go mining now?" He asks. "No, Verity. Can't you see I'm busy?" "But-" "No but! You still don't get it, do you?! I'm only doing this because I know what happened to Twixxel. Do you think I'm not able to watch the videos Mob uploaded?!" Grox bursts out. "But Mob! I thought.." "You can think as much as you want, guess what? I'm not fucking Mob! You can also keep being delusional and act like it's not your fault he killed himself, but I can't keep doing this!" Verity stares at Grox. "What? Cat got your tounge? Did you finally realize what you did to him?" "It wasn't my fault... I tried everything to make him see me the same way I see him.." Verity sobs. "No you didn't! You killed his best friend, you didn't let him talk with anyone, you never made him feel save. The only thing you did was capture him." "Because I couldn't trust him! He.. he would leave me just like the other ones.. it was just like I thought, right after Twixxel came I became irrelevant again so I needed to get rid of him. IS IT SO BAD I JUST WANT TO BE LOVED?" Verity suddenly pulls out the knife. "If that's what you think will make anyone love you then I think you will never be loved." Verity just stares at the knife in his shaking hand. "You're pathetic." Grox turns around to leave the house but gets pulled back by Verity. "What the-?" Grox feels a sting in his chest. As he looks down he sees the knife buried deep in it. Warm blood stains the black clothes that look like Mob's. Verity pulls the knife back out and backs away, letting Grox fall to the ground. "No... Mob.." Verity let's the bloody knife drop the floor before kneeling down beside Grox. "Not again, Mob.. wake up.." Verity shakes Grox's body and keeps on mumbling Mob's name. Not even in this moment Grox is himself.
