Centuries long rivalship

Summary:

It’s time for the housewardens and few selected students by the housewardens to go to RSA.
This happens every year to try and salvage the relationship between the two schools, but it never works, there’s only ever chaos.
At best the NRC will leave with the same opinion as when they entered. At worst, the students will leave hating RSA even more.
Will this year be different? NRC students doubt it.

Notes:

I’m only doing this cuz I’m starving of Riddle x Silver content to be honest and I found the idea interesting.
Also set before Malleus’ overblot but after book 6

Chapter 1: Meeting-they knew already…

Chapter Text

During a housewarden meeting

Crowley was late. As per usual.

He’s never on time, it really makes Riddle mad. Admittedly he always wanted to collar Crowley for his antics, especially so now that he was so late to a meeting so important.

Every housewarden knew what this meeting was about. The same thing happens every year. It was an important event for both schools that could improve the hostility between the two schools. However it has never worked.

“This is stupid. If that crow can’t even show up, the. We should just ditch this school tradition or whatever this is.” The displeasure of going to the rival school yet again puts a deep scowl on Leona’s face. Normally it would just be a face of boredom and tiredness.

“Now, now kitty theres no need to bear your fangs. Non of us are exactly pleased to to go to RSA but we’re not being aggressive. Frowning will give you more wrinkles.” Vil had finished his touch up for his make-up by the time he was done talking.

Leona did not answer Vil, closing his eyes once more. Most likely ignoring Vil.

By now even Kalim Al-Asim himself has run out of things to say. The whole of NRC had agreed that was not possible but somehow it happened.

“To be able to make the extravert of all extraverts be able to run out of things to keep the silence away is… I don’t even know how to say what I’m thinking. I thought making Kalim run out of things to say was impossible like games with an impossible stage that only 0.000001% of players can clearly.” Idia was sitting in the corner of the room mumbling to himself. He was earned a few stares his way. (No one knew what he was saying)

“Ekkk.” He proceeds to hide away in his hood after being stared at.

A few moments later Crowley enters the meeting room with a loud bang.

“Headmage. You’re late.”

“Ah you see, Rosehearts, I was caught up in some urgent unexpected work this morning making me be late for this meeting! It is regrettable, BUT necessary! Indeed I was doing something super important.”

That was just a flat out unbelievable lie. To both the students and faculty at NRC, there is nothing more important than their rival arcane academy. Their hostility towards the other school could not be quelled no matter what.

“Ugh, we both know that no one actually wants to go to RSA so just call this whole thing off.”

“I have to agree with Kingscholar. I see no reason to go to RSA yet again this academic year.” Malleus was delighted to get invited to something. However this invite did not excite him nearly as much as it would have if it was not about NRC’s rival school

“I too must agree with them both. There’s been no progress in relationships between the two schools.” You would expect Azul to be excited to go to get information on the enemy and use as blackmail but even he hated that place enough to stay away.

“Yeh, I’d rather not go to a school filled with people with more normie energy than the students here. Extroverts too.” This earned Idia another round of stares. “Ekkk”

“I for one would also not like to go.” Vil had reasons obvious to the whole room. Even Kalim knew due to the SDC incident.

“Well now, even if it has not worked out in the past, we should graciously take the opportunity to better ourselves and our schools. This will be a great opportunity to take a look at other magic academies! As an educator I must take all learning opportunities, yes! Aren’t I so kindhearted?”

“What exactly would we be learning, Headmage? How to hate? If that’s so, there’s no need NRC has old r of hate in them already.”

“A lesson on how to put our past hatred behind us of course Rosehearts!” Not convincing, especially with that grin on his face.

“Just tell us the real reason for going crow. You hate RSA as much as us so there’s got to be a reason you’re making us go.” Leona’s patience had already snapped before the Headmage came in the room so if this circus continues he just might jump Crowley.

“I have no idea what you all are on about!” Everyone minus Kalim shot glares at Crowley, though you couldn’t see Kalim’s face if you tried since it’s been buried in his arms since Crowley entered.

Riddle will have to talk to him about it later.

“All right! All right! RSA has offered to cover the expenses of NRC facilities for the next 6 months if we agreed to go and made even the slightest progress in fixing our hostility towards each other. I couldn’t ignore such an offer! As an educator, the facilities we use are very important for teaching the students properly. Yes indeed!”

No housewarden in the meeting was surprised. This was a typical Crowley thing to do.

The meeting room was dead silent. They all knew that they would be forced to go either way. Fighting the decision wasn’t going to work but that didn’t mean that they didn’t want to knock the living daylights out of the Headmage right now.

“You may also bring along any students in your dorm if you so wish! Aren’t I so benevolent to let you bring along companions? Yes, indeed! Also the prefect will be there as-well!” With that the poor excuse of the Headmage left the room much faster than he arrived.

After moments Crowley left, the housewardens had the process everything, mostly their anger, before Leona left first followed by the rest.

At least if they had to suffer in RSA then they could make others suffer alongside them by forcefully bringing them along.
