Benthomaar was apparently busy with his royal work while he talked to other guards of how to make the defense getting stronger. At this point he was getting bored to death because of how mundane his work sometimes was. He really did try at least to make it enjoyable for him and his work as the next heir and king for his people— merpeople or Octopus?? Eel??. But of course, he failed to do so as his mind wandered somewhere else, thinking about someone familiar in his mind.
A surface dweller that is often sarcastic, but also secretly has a soft spot. With his blue hair and his sunset eyes color that Benthomaar could get lost in. He loves everything about Scott, from his hair to his prime empire skin and cute tail. Bentho could only sigh, he really missed Scott, even though he and his boyfriend just met a few days ago, and now it’s almost evening.
‘I really want to go meet Scott right now….’ he thought to himself and sighs sorrowfully, like a widow man that missed his boyfriend clearly (which actually he and Scott weren't dating in a way. But, he did have thinking to be more as boyfriends that is)
“Your highness? We really need your opinion on this one tactics” said the guards who made Benthomaar suddenly went back to the reality of the world. Now he must go back to work again. Guess he could go back to his daydream after work, he hopes.
Meanwhile somewhere else, on the surface far from the water and near Ninjago city. There's the human/surface dwellers that Benthomaar always likes, Scott. He was now busy repairing one of Cyrus machines as he looked at his conch shell earring that Benthomaar gave him a month ago. A small present as he said to remind him also. He couldn’t help but to smile at him, even though his boyfriend seems to be in distress right now.
“I wonder if he’s doing alright on his duty or not…” Scott said to himself as he could imagine the young king’s face if he’s usually getting annoyed with his work. That did make Scott let out a fit of laughter in the empty room. Oh how he really adores Benthomaar and many of his expression that looks like—
“A big puppy— pfft… he looks just like one especially when the dog looks sad. Maybe we could meet again after I'm done with my job. Maybe” he said and wondered if Benthomaar would be alright by himself now.
The answer? No, instead Bentho acted like he was going to disassociate from his work instead. Or even him going to passed away in his place right there.
“I wanna go back to meet Scott… I hate Kalmaar for burdening his work” he grumbled onto his pile of work.

A few hours later, Benthomaar was finally free from his duty and he could finally go to the surface, to the city to meet Scott after he escapes from his meeting with the councillors. “They can’t catch me now!” he said to himself as he swam up to the land with giddy as he swam with much more stamina. Already thinking that he would surprise Scott already while he didn’t know what’s to come. Thinking about it only made Benthomaar even more giddy than usual.
When he arrived at the surface, he immediately sprinted to where Scott could be right now. He wasn’t there when he arrived there, and that made the young king panic. “SCOTT?!” He screamed and tried to find any sign of Scott anywhere in the place. But of course, he wasn’t there at all. Just as he was about to tell Blazey or scream for help, Scott just arrived right on time. Tired and definitely happy with him getting paid by Cyrus after a grueling day of work. He was surprised to see Benthomaar there and looked like a sad puppy.
“Scott? Where have you been?!” Benthomaar went to his boyfriend with concern, as the immediately went to hug Scott like he was waiting for his long lost lover. Scott was stunned as he didn’t know how to reply as he just went to pat his head instead, “Sorry… I was out working at Borg tower…. Why are you here anyway? We just saw each other the other day". He asked back and was confused how Benthomaar arrived so fast.
He let out an awkward laugh and instead Benthomaar leaned closer, as their faces almost touched. “let’s just say, i kinda run away when there’s going to have another meeting with the councillor??". He sheepishly said as Scott gave him a small glare because of that, but he couldn’t help to sigh because Benthomaar gave him puppy eyes. Scott sure has a weakness with him in a way.
“Fine. You could stay for tonight, but we need to be quiet. I don’t want either Blazey or Okino to find out about it yet” he said, face were now flushing as Benthomaar nodded with much energy.
“Thank you. Come on now!” With that the Merlopia king takes Scott into the room as he takes his hands, Both are now walking to Scott’s own bedroom. “Can we have the usual? Making out and cuddling while we’re watching the documents you talk about?” Bentho asked with his biggest puppy eyes, like a child. Scott thought it was adorable. He couldn’t say no to that anyway
“You really have your own way to ask about it, huh?” the human said as he and Benthomaar went to his room quietly and the big oaf of shark hybrid then went to kiss Scott all over his face and features. As if he was gonna disappear from his sight, he does really adore Scott for him and all about him. That reminds him how sickly in love with one another, both of them are.
“I love this about you” Benthomaar simply said, as his shark tail wagged happily while gave a small peck on his lips. Clearly and oh so obviously in love he was. As for Scott? He let out a small laugh and kissed him back, “and so was I. You big shark”
