I started this in early 2025, so before Yarrick was declared to be alive. I'm very much aware that Angron and Yarrick probably never fought, but uh... I don't really care. I hope you enjoy my first fic!

The Boyz receive the call

Chapter Text

The Ork fleet had been sitting near the asteroid for a few days at this point. They had been using it to get more materials for another invasion of Armageddon, so that Ghazghkull could face off against Yarrick once more. Suddenly, an Ork ship came barreling out of the Warp. Only hastily transmitted words had prevented it from being destroyed. The ship belonged to Blood Axes that worked for the Great WAAAGH!. The band of Orks rarely met with the main fleet, only showing up when they had important news for Ghazghkull and its council. When the ship docked with the Killwrecka, only a single lowly Grot was sent out. Perhaps this should have been a warning for the Orks. The Grot went to Ghazghkull’s throne room, and all across the fleet, Orks heard a cry of anger, and an unfamiliar feeling, which could have been explained as grief if a human had been there to explain such a thing. The Grot never came out.

One of the Blood Axe boyz went to the Counsill, Ghazghkull’s lieutenants, and delivered them the news. Lord Commissar Sebastian Yarrick, the greatest enemy of the Orks, had been killed on Armageddon. Bullets laughed, “ya tell'n me ‘dat 'da bosses grod iz dead?” “Yes boss,” said the Blood Axe, “Weze just learned dis recently and came here as fast as we cud.” “And why cudn’t you stop ‘im from getting krumped?” Demanded Snazdakka, who didn’t trust the Blood Axes anyways. “We wernt nearby boss,” said the Blood Axe, shrinking away from the angry Bad Moon boss. Snazdakka was about to beat the teef out of the boy when Taktikus intervened. “Now dere you git,” he snarled, seeming quite orky for a Blood Axe, “I iz sure that there was no way dat dey cud help, cud you?” It asked the quite nervous Blood Axe. “Y-yez boss, dere was nuffing we cud do, we wernt even close by, we ‘eard it from a humie ship we raided.” Bullets, the Deathskulls warboss, decided to interfere as well, seeing that Snazdakka was not convinced, and wanting to learn the identity of Yarricks killer. In a relatively calm voice, it asked the Ork “did ya learn da name uv 'oo kilt ‘em?” “All we know iz 'dat it was some red warpy git,” said the Ork. “So you gitz are useless then!” roared Snazdakka. “Now now, lets not get too ‘asty,” said Shazfrag, the Evil Sunz warboss, before realizing what it said, laughing uproariously. Grudbolg cuffed Shazfrag over the head, the ancient Snakebite tired of this nonsense. Ugrak then spoke up. “Maybe we consult da weirdboyz,” it suggested, “and find out ‘oo killed Yarrick.” The rest of the bosses nodded and gave grunts of agreement, the Blood Axe messenger taking the chance to beat a quick retreat out of the Counsill chambers.

The bosses, along with their escorts, traveled to the large structure housing the weirdboyz. They entered to an unusual scene of calm, at least, as calm as psychically active orks can be. The weirdboyz seemed to be… content in a sort of way, and their grot handlers seemed confused as to why their charges were not mumbling incoherently and trying to bash their own brains out, or do that to each other. Ugrak was the first to say something. “Why aren’t dey doing anyfing,” it asked, confused, “Oi GITZ,” it shouted at the grots, “WOT IS GOING ON!” “We… we dunt know boss,” begged one of the grots, “Dey suddenly just stopped.” One of the weirdboyz started chanting, the rest following in suit. “Dey woke up, dey woke up, dey woke up.” The Ork psykers kept repeating the phrase over and over again, and all the Orks in the room heard a loud thumping coming from outside. Ghazghkull Mag Uruk Thraka, the Prophet of Gork and Mork, Warboss of the Greatest WAAAGH! seen in quite some time, thudded through the entrance to the structure. Its eyes were burning in a green flame, and it stomped toward the weirdboyz, who fell silent. The weirdboyz bowed before the massive Ork, chanting as one “'da prophet sees its purpose.” Ghazghkull laughed, a brutal, kunnin laugh, and reached out with the Klaw of Gork, and crushed the head of the lead weirdboy, its head unexpectedly blowing up in a green cloud. Ghazghkull turned to its bosses. “We’ze going to da Ghoul Starz,” growled the massive Ork in a commanding tone, “To unlock our true power, once and for all.” The warbosses of the great WAAAGH! felt power coursing through their veins, and they knew that something was coming, something that could reshape the galaxy. The greatest, greenest, meanest tide was about to form, and none but the most powerful of its members could direct its path.
