Work Text:
Most people would expect the strongest sorcerer of today to be a strong willed and unshakable force that no person could stop, a person so strong and someone who is physically and emotionally stronger than 10,000 people combined.
Now, if you told Megumi that people really did think that of Gojo Satoru, he’d scoff in your face and walk away. Of course, he knows that Gojo is the strongest sorcerer of today, it’s just hard to believe when he’s made Satoru cry over a few words.

It all started on a rainy afternoon, Tsumiki was at a friends house for a sleepover, the girl had always been much more sociable than her younger brother, and Gojo had also decided today was the perfect day to stay the afternoon, which he did most of time anyways. For the richest guy alive, he sure does like spending time in Megumi and Tsumiki’s crumbling apartment.
The two of them sat in the living room, Gojo half paying attention to the show playing on the TV and half zoning out while Megumi was sat on the floor scribbling away on a piece of paper.
Gojo, finally, decided to speak up.
“Megumiiiiiiiiiiii…” he dragged the boys name like one of Shoko’s cigarettes, but there was no response.
“Hey, Gumiiii beaaaarr” He said again, his dumbass smile still plastered on his face, but there was still no response.
“Gumi-chaaaann don’t ignore me” Gojo whined, you’d think he’s Megumi’s age but no, grown ass man. A grown ass man who’s complaining about a child not giving him attention.
“don’t call me that” Megumi grumbled, for a 7 year old, he sure does sound like an 80 year old man most days.
“Gumi Beaaaar, you love me riiighhht?” Satoru asked it like it was the most important question in the entire world, like the fate of every human depends on Megumi’s answer.
“no.”
…
huh?
Megumi had said it so flatly as well, like he genuinely didn’t care about— and these are Satoru’s actual words— his “genuine 100% real father and birth giver”.
“Megumi don’t say such mean things and be honest with me!!!” Gojo whined out, quick reminder, grown ass man speaking.
“I am being honest, and i don’t love you. Matter of fact, i hate you.” Megumi said it as if he was talking about the weather.
“…what?” Satoru sounded exactly like a kicked puppy.
At that moment, the flood gates opened.
Waterfalls of tears fell down Satoru’s face as he loudly complained about Megumi hating him.
“MEGUMIIIII HOW COULD YOU SAY THAT TO YOUR VERY REAL BIOLOGICAL FATHER!!! DON’T YOU KNOW THAT IT WAS ME WHO CARRIED YOU FOR 9 MONTHS!!!!”
Megumi, an emotionally stunted 7 year old, had no idea how to make him stop crying.
So, very reluctantly, Megumi got up and patted Satoru’s back.
“There there…uh…stop crying? And also you’re not biologically related to me.”
Absolutely comforting words.
“You’re comforting me…that means you love me right?! And change your tone young man i DID birth you.” Satoru’s expression and emotions changed with the flip of a switch.
“Wait hold on— I never!— You never gave birth—“ Megumi was very abruptly interrupted by Satoru hugging him so tightly he might’ve turned blue.
“Oh of course you don’t hate me!! You’re just going through that rebellious phase!!” He said it with so much confidence and joy that Megumi couldn’t bring himself to object.
Now, Megumi would’ve loved to get out of this tight bear hug, go back to his room and sleep for the next 1000 years, but Gojo had other plans.
Which is how they ended up laying on the sofa together watching whatever was on Tv while Satoru held Megumi like a plushie.

“…and that’s how i made Gojo-sensei cry when i was 7” Megumi ended his story to Itadori and Nobara.
“Really??? No way that’s too funny!!” Yuji laughed out.
“Of course that guy would cry over what a 7 year old had to say.” Nobara commented.
“Yeah, but it’s true” Megumi added.
Megumi held onto the bouquet of forget me nots tighter as the bus got more packed with people.
A comfortable silence washed over the trio as the ride continued, until they got to their stop.
The cold January air washed over their faces as they continued their journey.
Their steps grew louder as the area around them got quieter, before they eventually stopped and reached their destination.
‘here lies Satoru Gojo,
Beloved to all
The world was better
with you with us’
Megumi rested the flowers on his grave.
And he had one thought he kept to himself.
“Thanks dad, I love you”
