Chapter Text

The mountains were cold and relentless, powerful winds whipping to and fro, throwing snow into the air so thickly that all one could see was white.

Keziah could see nothing beyond her frosted blonde hair thrashing wildly around her face, her feet buried beneath a deep layering of snow. She held her thin coat tightly against her, a little Pidgey shivering beneath her pale fingers. The snow was piled up nearly to her knees, every step requiring much more effort than she could spare.

   It was so cold.

Keziah could not move properly, her face frozen in place by the winds. Against her chest, the little bird did not fare much better, for she could feel very little heat coming off of him if any.

Still she pressed on. There was no other option. She could not go back, and even if she wanted to, she couldn’t see where she’d come from.

It was just supposed to be a camping trip.

Her family had set up a campsite for a fun outing, when earlier she was alone on a walk and an Ursaring appeared out of the bushes, angered, and attacked.

Her hold on the Pidgey tightened as she recalled how it had jumped in with a Peck attack to protect her.

They both ran, too afraid to look back. She quickly got lost as it began to snow.

The trees eventually disappeared as she kept walking. She had no idea where she was.

All she knew was that she would freeze.

Her and the little bird pokemon that had so valiantly saved her.

Keziah’s steps faltered as the feeling in her legs dwindled. Her breaths were ragged, but every inhale was sharp and freezing.

A strong gust of wind suddenly rammed into her from behind, and she forcefully dropped to her knees, clutching the motionless Pidgey as she shivered violently.

She would’ve cried if any tears managed to leave her eyes.

The snow was so cold, seeping through her clothing, through her skin, freezing the very marrow of her bones. She could not move any further.

Would it be so bad to give up now?

She allowed herself to fall to her side, curling around the little pokemon that had since stopped shivering. She could do nothing. She had tried, but there was nowhere to go. Nothing to see. Nothing but ice.

Keziah closed her eyes just as a large shadow passed over her face, strong rhythmic gusts beating from above.

I have so much planned for this, hopefully I stick with it this time c:
