The water was usually as blue as his eyes
The waves as loud as the thunder he'd hear at night
His rod drifted in the murky water
It bobbed like the vegetables in boiling water
When he'd cook for him and Wemmbu
When the pair had time for that stuff
He let the memories rinse the filthy mind clean
From all the new pains from being stuck in a cell most days
From the distress whenever he'd suddenly end up in a pool of water as he just tried to bide his time with his friend
He loved his and Wemmbu's time before all this
When they'd spend their nights together
Playing a game
Fishing
Reading aloud to each other, taking turns that Wemmbu complained about
He'd read anyways while his arms crossed across his chest and he huffed
Egg would laugh
Like always.
He'd treat it as joke
Because it was
Wemmbu was never truly upset; obviously
He'd just complain to make Egg laugh
To make him smile while he'd berade Wemmbu
"It's just some reading!"
"You're going to be alright!"
Egg would read expressively and perfectly
He seemed to be able to encapsulate any text perfectly
And Wemmbu loved that
The way he'd motion while reading a dramatic scene
The way his eyes would well up with tears at the emotional ones
They'd gloss over and shine as he looked up to stop them from falling
Whenever he read an angry scene he'd get louder and his wings would puff up
He'd act like he was swooning during romantic ones
That would make Wemmbu laugh
"She was swooped!" He threw an arm over his forehead and leaned back "into his arms at a speed so quick, it was keen to something like a plane!"
Egg and Wemmbu would have conversations after their readings
A lot of it consisted of Wemmbu joking about Eggchan's expressions he'd make while reading
Which Eggchan would giggle over and tell Wemmbu he was being rude
Eggchan was about to turn to Wemmbu to remind him of how much he adored their friendship
He turned and saw Wemmbu's rod in the water
His hair stilled pinned up and perfect
Yet a little more greasy
But it was still in it's stunning half up half down
With the eyeball clip still in it
Now with a web one alongside it
His eye bags were darker by now, making his eyes look sunken, like ships Egg would see in the great sea
How was Jaden doing?
His eyes landed on Jaden, who was huffing while talking to Yungy about something PvP related
His black hair has grown past his shoulders by now
Pulled into a low and loose ponytail
It was messy and obviously not done with care or caution
And it suited him
Yungy was huffing at Jaden
He would toss his hair expressively and Eggchan would admire it
He loved seeing people who were expressive like him
It was rare, so little people would express themselves on this server
And it devesated him
Seeing these people all over the server so devoid of loud personality
The server full of dictators and people pretending to be nonchalant
Codmaster was pulling another cod off his rod, before he released it
Codmaster only kept some of the fish he'd pull up
Mostly the large ones that'd hopefully lived a full life
As much of a life as they could in this dark pond
Eggchan stared into the dark murk
It stared back
It seemed to ripple
He was hallucinating again, that has been happening a lot since he was stuck in this dark all the time
His vision got worse, yes
But so did his hallucinations
He'd see Wemmbu in the corner of his room
He'd turn to face him
Then he'd laugh and fade
Eggchan had ignored every other hallucination
Be it a night long daydream of he and Wemmbu being free together
Be it the memories manifesting into traumatizing hallucinations
Twisted by his own past tortures
By what he thought would happen to him if he tried escaping
By what scared him most
Pain
Hunger
Anguish
Blood and gore
Torture
Wemmbu being harmed
He didn't like the idea of Wemmbu being harmed because of an attempted escape or something
It scared him
It made him feel uneasy as bile rised up his throat
Made his stomach lurch when he'd hallucinate a bloody Wemmbu
He didn't want to feel like this any longer
Feel the darkness taint his soul anytime he'd breakdown
Anytime he'd see another hallucination
Another version of Wemmbu
Whether it was a destructive version
Or a destroyed one
One that had finally fallen to the pressure of war
One that had died
That was fallen victim to the battles he was forced into because of Eggchan
Eggchan's hated being a pawn for this war
Used to determine their strongest piece
Whether he would fight
Whether he would act
Eggchan's couldn't hold that bearing anymore
It had weighed on his shoulders too long
Making him constantly feel weak and heavy
Getting worse every time he was kidnapped
Everytime he was used against Wemmbu
It probably started when he was taken captive by Flame and used for Gambit
And it just got worse
Eggchan's stood up
Looked at Wemmbu
Looked at the shining purple hair that Cascades over his friend's face
That made it look perfectly shaped and toned
That fit him perfectly
At the dark clothes with splashes of purple and red
At the spider hairclip
At the eye hairclip
Then he smiled
"I'm gonna go walk around for a bit!"
Egg said, Wemmbu nodded
"Alright, stay safe, Egg." Egg nodded. He walked into Cod master and Jaden's house. He wrote in a book
'Wemmbu, please. Do what is right. Leave. Leave and don't return to this side. I left so you could be free. Please, don't miss me.' He signed it, successfully locking it.
He dropped it and walked back outside
He looked at the group one more time
The chaos of it
He knew he'd just hurt Wemmbu if he stayed
So he made his choice
He snuck up a level
Walked around for a bit
Before walking towards the edge, behind where his friends fished
He sat on the edge
Legs hung numbly off the side
He let them rest there
He stared at the ground of the bottom feeders level
His friends were still fishing
He knew he'd dim the mood doing this
But he needed to
"Wemmbu!" Eggchan's called out
Wemmbu looked up
"Egg- what the fuck are you doing up there? You're like blind as a bat.. Come down."
Wemmbu spoke with worry and concern
Egg smiled
He could see clearer than he had in weeks
He could see Wemmbu's freckles
The creases of his frown on his face
"Check CodMaster's house after. Please. Do what I would have wanted."
He forced himself off
His hands pushed himself off
Then his body felt weightless as he fell
He couldn't process the screams
Wemmbu first, then Jaden
Jaden lunged forward with a water bucket
He was attempting to empty it before the angel would hit the ground
Wemmbu was crying and tried to fly up and catch Egg
But the fall was too fast
And too decided
As if whatever Eggchan's wanted, he'd get
And he wanted to die
Eggchan fell from a high place
Wemmbu was frozen
He was shaking like a new born kitty
Like a leaf
Like the branches swaying in an autumn wind
Eggchan's favorite season
He adored to way the colors would blend together because of his eyesight
They looked good even if he couldn't see shapes clear
He could see the colors
Could see beauty
And he adored it
Wemmbu didn't even process landing on the ground
His wings were numb at his sides
He landed right beside the body
Eggchan had very little items on him
A fishing rod
His lorebook
Some fish
And a book and quill
Wemmbu fell to his knees and cried over the body
Jaden, Codmaster and Yungy were frozen
The sight of a grieving Wemmbu
Of the body of his closest friend
Was overwhelming for them all
Wemmbu clung to the body as his body shook even more violently
He sobbed
He screamed
He kicked
And he broke
He broke into a million pieces
A billion even
He felt like his soul was tearing itself apart inside out
The grief destroying his body in ways he couldn't describe
He was suddenly plunged in cold, yet so warm at the same time
He was freezing
He was overheating
He was both
Like yinyang
That's what they two were
A fighter and a hider
A biter and a laugher
A joy filled ball
Who always smiled
Who almost made everyone's day better
Who made his day better
And a poor soul who now felt lost
Lost without his friend
With the body in front of him
He stayed like that for twenty minutes
Until Jaden pulled him off
"Don't touch me!"
Wemmbu lashed out instinctively
Jaden dropped him a book
Signed by Eggchan
"It was in the home."
Jaden stated
He turned and wiped his own tears off his face
Wemmbu pulled open the heavy book
It wasn't physically heavy, of course
But it felt like that
Because these were Eggchan's words
These were his to Wemmbu's
Wemmbu read them
He hated how they worked into his body
How they made him feel determined
To avenge Eggchan
To make Arachnid suffer
To make this kingdom suffer
To destroy it.
He stood up, brushing himself off and turned to Jaden.
".. You should get you and Codmaster out of here." He said. He placed an echest.
He pulled out his orbital shulker
Jaden recognised it, and grabbed Codmaster
"Move, move! We have to get outta here!"
He said in a panic to Codmaster
Jaden and Cod fled
Yungy stood and stared
"Wemmbu- you can't seriously be-"
"There's still TNT under the entire civilization, right? That'll make this a lot easier."
Yungy froze
He's outta here
He equipped his elytra and flew out
Wemmbu grabbed some nukes
And pulled some
Pulled the rods until he saw sunlight from the blown open cave
Then he kept pulling
Until death names scrolled across the screen
Until the TNT under the floor ignited
Until there was ashes in a crater
And that was all that was left of the kingdom of caves
