"Honk!"(Regect, that tray wasn't filled with air before, there were baked sweet potatoes on that!)
["Whoops! Guilty as charged!"]
Ze wasn't home right now, meanwhile Wakafante and Dice were out at a bar Moe had suggested when they ran short on ideas on where to go for their weekly date. Which basically left Moe and Regect alone to entertain themselves. Moe had planned on making a caramel drizzle to go with the sweet potatoes she'd baked earlier, although she couldn't really do that anymore since Regect ate ALL OF IT.
"Honk! Honk!"(See, this is exactly why your fatass is getting fatter by the day-you don't even like sweet potato!)
The ironic thing was, she wasn't lying. Regect wasn't a fan on sweet potato-on the contrary, it was Ze who was the one who'd die for sweet potatoes. Which was something Moe had noticed for a while now, Regect would pretty much always ask for something that had sweet potato in it. Initially, she thought she was in for a joke until these requests ended up dragging on for a month. And she had also noticed that Regect was starting to gain weight(at least that's what she thought was going on)-she found that a little more weird since the entity had a fast metabolism rate, so naturally he should have little to no fat build-up. And yet, Moe took notice of the slight swell in Regect's lower stomach and didn't let it go since. She did believe him initially when he said he was just eating more but she eventually didn't buy it.
"Honk honk! Honk-...honk?"(Seriously, you've been acting weird for the past two months or something! You eat the same things you never liked, you're acting less of a dick than you normally would and-...Regect?)
Oh, yeah. And she noticed how Regect tended to zone out and sway in place a little instead of smiling sardonically or making a witty remark while she or Ze was talking-at this point, she knew that meant he was nauseous. And while he normally pretended that didn't happen and just pulled through it, this time he couldn't and made a beeline for the nearest bathroom and hurled up into the seat. Moe had gotten concerned over the weeks and this was the breaking point for her. Out of all these of them, Regect was the one who was less likely to get sick and even if he did come down with something like a cold or a stomach bug, he'd get better the very next day. But that has been going on for too long, and Moe wasn't going to let it slide any longer.
Pushing the door open, she saw Regect on his knees in front of the toilet seat, his invisible head resting on the rim while his hands were gripping the sides so tightly the porcelain would probably crack under the pressure. His breathing was uneven and when Moe kneeled down on her knees, she could see that that was because he was trying his damn hardest not to cry. Which he ended up failing altogether when Moe pulled him into her arms for a hug. Regect needed this, as much as he didn't want to admit he really needed this, and Moe knew that since Regect didn't cry very often. Well, none of them did, but Regect would if he could hide it and he did that pretty well.
When he finally got it all out, he leaned against Moe's body, both of his hands coming up to his stomach and resting them there. It didn't take a genius to know what he wanted to say.
[Moe. Please. Don't tell him about this.]
She responded with a hand reaching up Regect's back and softly stroking slow circles there. That's how he knew she wouldn't. That was also how he knew she'd only do so if he did something for her, and if not for her, well...for the baby then.
