Murder Drones: Other Story

Summary:

A parallel story in another sector of Copper-9, where the disassembly drones, instead of massacring the worker drones, decided to subjugate them quietly and without telling the Company. This concentration camp for worker drones is not typical and does not quite resemble what humans have done. But will the worker drones be able to overthrow the deconstruction drones, and if they do, what should they do next? This story takes place in parallel with the original series' plot.

Notes:

Sorry if there are any mistakes, English is not my native language. But I will try to improve my content. Also, in the first chapter, there won't be a sense of it being a concentration camp, for plot reasons. In the next one, there will be a sense of it, at least according to my idea.

(See the end of the work for more notes.)

Chapter 1: Exposition

Chapter Text

Planet Copper-9, an unknown sector far from the epicenter of the explosion.

The worker drone is in some kind of homemade secret hideout - the entrance is simply cut out of the floor where the burrow is located. Once inside, you will find a room filled with soundproof panels taken from a recording studio. Inside this room, there was only a bed, a tape recorder, flash drives, and a diary, but they were actually fake, containing only romantic fanfiction, so that if a detective saw them, they would be disappointed and leave. The real diary entries and flash drives were hidden under the bed. Although it was a risky move, she had at least attempted it. The drone worker was a woman (although all drone workers had similar body structures), wearing a red wig, a black hoodie, and black shoes. She picked up the tape recorder, turned it on, and began speaking.

"Okay, I've got everything prepared, and the shelter is set up. Now, no one will be able to reach me or find out about my plan to free the drones! But just in case, if I die, I'll leave a recording for future generations to tell their story. It's like in those cool human movies. Ahem, let's get started with the presentation."

"Long ago, the JCJenson Space Company created worker drones, which eventually evolved into a groundbreaking company for intelligent robots. Some of my fellow tribesmen would call it oppression and slavery, like in those movies with black people, but my real father said that the workers were quite humane and treated us with friendship, if not respect. Like, they even went out of their way to give us unique names. For example, my father's name is Hit, which is a shortened version of the name of a ruler, but I forget who it is. My father later called me Bis, which is a shortened version of the name Bismarck. As you may have noticed, our names are related to human history. So, we're located near a library where the employees were all history geeks. They clearly put a lot of effort into choosing our names from human history. Oh, I'm getting off track. Hmm, well, everything was going well until the planet exploded. No one in my circle knows exactly what happened, but there was an explosion. And the drones decided to create a society without relying on humans, but spoiler alert, we stole a lot from them. And then... the disassembly drones or the murder drones arrived, sent by the aforementioned company. They came, they made a small massacre, mostly of adults, and then they drove us all into a bunker that belonged to local human self-defense groups. At first, they wanted to torture us all, but one of our own told the demolition drones that he could offer them something in exchange for the survival of many drones. One of them listened and told him to give them something great to survive. This turned out to be our library and the fact that some of the drones could retell the stories of books well, and they could also find intact discs, flash drives, and even cassettes with people's movies. This made the dismantling drones happy like little children, and they said that they would spare them all for a good retelling. However, we were forbidden to leave the bunker without permission. I will reveal the names of these murderers: W, P, and L. W is the most important of the three, a man and a cruel tyrant. They say that he compensates for his insecurities in this way. P is a woman and the main fan of humanity. She is the one who accepted the librarian's offer and asked W for it. One day, she saw pictures in a book about the history of the Third Reich. She was so inspired that she asked W to reconstruct a bunker based on what she saw in the book. Well, I saw these bars, nets, and... a yellow cloth, like a flag. They call our bunker a "concentration camp", where the life of the drone workers will be terrible. And there's also... L, the man and the child supervisor. He's the one who suggested separating the children and the adults. The children belonged to L, while the adults were under the control of W and P. L has a different vision for our "Concentration Camp," trying to create a children's camp for the children. That's how we ended up here."

Bis heard the sounds of approaching, and she hid the real flash drive containing her backstory and pretended to be writing about romantic relationships between stone and iron. A disassembly drone entered the room. It was L. He had a cross on his visor and claws on his hands. However, when he saw me, he immediately hid his claws and changed his expression to a normal one. "Bis, you mischievous girl, you promised to return five minutes ago. What are you writing about?" L said. Bis tried to pretend that she hadn't done anything, but L noticed the tape recorder and decided to listen to it. He heard Bis telling the story of her porn fanfiction. Frustrated, L put the tape recorder on the floor and looked at Bis, saying, "Is this why you made a secret lair?". Bis lowered her head in embarrassment. L sighed and took her out of the library, returning to the bunker called "The Concentration Camp." Bis watched as adult worker drones worked tirelessly, expanding the bunker, checking the integrity of the equipment, and cleaning up the debris. Bis watched with sadness, as her real father, whom she occasionally saw, was among them. She also witnessed a scene where W killed a worker drone for poor performance, drinking all its oil. L brought her to a classroom filled with teenagers and her acquaintances. It's not to say that they lived well, but they didn't have enough oil and batteries, but they were allowed to watch movies, read books, and were taught to be better storytellers to tell interesting stories. They were also taught to search for discs, flash drives, and tapes all over the planet, trying not to attract attention.

A day has passed

Bis successfully completed her homework by retelling Romeo and Juliet in an interesting way in front of the deconstruction drones. L even wiped his visor, imitating wiping tears from his eyes, tears of pride, you might say. P clearly enjoyed the romantic story of two lovers with a bitter ending. W clearly wasn't interested until the bitter ending came, and he didn't even yawn. Bis is also happy because she didn't have to receive punishment. Because of L, W and P, they couldn't kill the young drones, but they could punish them in some way. Usually, they would bite their hand or scratch their visor, but they could also shoot them in the leg. At least it wasn't death. After that, Bis went to her apartment. She looked at her classmates, who were re-reading or revising the assignment. They couldn't check all of them in a day, but they usually managed to check five drones per day. Because the disassembly drones needed time to rest from the last retelling and listen to the new one. Plus, they need to check on the worker drones to make sure they're not slacking off or, even worse, starting a riot. There are three disassembly drones for every... I think there are a thousand worker drones. It's amazing that this bunker is so spacious... or maybe it's because the murder drones are forcing the workers to expand the bunker. My father said that at first, the workers were sleeping on top of each other. The workers are also forced to build solar and wind energy systems to supply the bunker, and when acid rains come, they are also forced to shelter these farms so that they do not collapse from acid.

Bis approaches his apartment and sees the worker drones. But the unusual ones are collaborators. They are divided into overseers and guards. Supervisors monitor the work of workers, and guards beat if order and discipline are violated. The guards are kicking the poor worker for falling asleep. Bis decided not to watch and went into her apartment. It was empty, as usual. Her father was forced to work all day, and he only came to the apartment to work. After 10 minutes of doing nothing, the teenage drone decided to visit her father. Previously, children were not allowed to contact their parents while they were at work, but after L was annoyed by the children, he allowed them to have short meetings of no more than 15 minutes. Bis came to her father, named Hit, who was tired of painting the walls for 5 hours straight.

"Oh, Bis, hi, how are you, daughter?" said Heath, painting the walls white. "I successfully completed my homework, dad!" "That's great, did you remember to eat the batteries?" - "Well, Dad, I don't like these big sticky batteries, it's inconvenient to eat them"- "This is the only thing the supervisor who is watching us now gave us"- "I understand, but I still want something tastier"- "We're unlikely to get diesel"- "You're the only one who loves diesel" -"No, my friend likes it too" - "It's bitter and tasteless" - "Bitter yes, but it's delicious" - "I'd rather eat gold" - "It doesn't give energy at all and just gets stuck in the stomach"- "We don't have a stomach and I can It's easy to throw the gold out of yourself, but it feels cool in your mouth."-"You know what I mean by stomach, but come on, it's junk food anyway."-"Well, think what you want, Dad."

The father-daughter dialogue was interrupted by the overseer's whistle, indicating that time had run out. Bis had to return home to her apartment. The apartment was cozy, with Bis's room, Hit's room, and a kitchen. In the kitchen, Bis's mother's corpse was sitting on a chair. Her name was Madonna, and that was basically all Bis knew about her, except that L had killed her during their arrival on Copper-9. It's ironic, if you think about it, because Bis is quite close to L, as are all the drone children. Bis is eating those sticky, large batteries and looking at her phone. Yes, as strange as it may sound, the internet is working here. It's all thanks to the functioning satellites and the fact that an unknown drone from another sector has repaired the internet networks and hidden them underground, protecting them from acid rain. No one knows who this hero is, but because of him, you can contact other worker drones on the internet. However, L has forbidden us to tell others on the internet that the W-P-L disassemblers have decided to enslave the workers instead of eliminating them, as he suspects that not only the workers, but also the worker drones who are cooperating with the disassemblers or the disassemblers themselves, are using the internet. As a result, the child drones are telling everyone anything but this fact. But right now, Bis is not interested in posts about how Lizzy made friends with V. She sent messages to her three best friends, asking them to meet her at the library. These three friends are Rom, Cez, and Pers. Rom is a sporty guy who likes weird science fiction movies where drones are described in strange and unusual ways. Cez is a quiet girl who enjoys abstract or silly humor. This is probably why she doesn't have many friends and watches very strange movies with strange acting. The guy Pers tries to pass himself off as a tough guy, imitating the actors-junkies, but Bis remembers how scared he was when L pointed a gun at him for a joke. Mah, not the best campaign for a conspiracy against the disassemblers. But she has no alternatives, except for the other classmates, but she trusts them less... Maybe L- no, he is unlikely to join them. Had to wait a minute before the friends respond positively. Bis took a bag, put her phone, some drafts of some project, cartridge cases, an old map of the area and a pen in it. And just in case, she put her mother's corpse on her bed. So the overseers won't understand at first that I'm not there yet, and I think

Uh... Bis didn't come up with a cool line at the end, but pretend she said something cool... please.
