McGrady Shady Trail Head and Hiking Path Cleared for Access
It’s been many a moon since the wanderer induced erosion that led to a mudslide that cut off access to one of the most untouched parts of Linkon’s beautiful mountain ranges. Extensive sky surveys and land surveys have concluded the area is safe to traverse through again.
A debt of gratitude goes out to all of the volunteers on the ground who assisted. If you were a part of the Hunter’s Association Youth Nature Restoration Program, please stop by their headquarters before the end of the week to pick up the commemorative Kitty Badge as thanks for your time and commitment to helping your community recover and continue to grow.
If you’d like to continue keeping McGrady Shady Trailhead a safe and welcoming place for current and future generations, visit the Amelie Wegar Center this weekend for opportunities and a training hike with Ranger Talbot Fitzgerald.
Please note that due to metaflux anomalies, the trailhead will remain closed during full moons and polar lunar events.
Boardwalk Psychic Foresees Lemurian Renaissance
Long time resident of Linkon Boardwalk, Lusine the Seer has divined another economic blossom. She takes no credit for her visions, as has been her modus operandi for three decades, but thanks her blessed pearl.
Those who aren’t familiar with Lusine’s gift might not know that she is allegedly in possession of a pearl shed by a Lemurian sea god. No one has been able to prove nor disprove this claim, but it is believed to be the reason all of her prophecies revolve around the sea.
Current prophecy has been recorded below for posterity:
When red fish sees blue
When brush meets bloom
The sea will rise
A god untombed
A generous and anonymous donor continues to pay her mortgage and utilities despite her numerous false prophecies.
Eco-Terrorists Arrested After Chemical Attack Curtailed
Residents and campers of South East Linkon can thank the stars and a mysterious band of saviors for intervening in a premeditated chemical spill by the eco-terrorist trio, Three Brothers. A letter was left with the men who were found adhered to their own chemical tankards. It gave credit to the clear and bright night sky for illuminating the trio’s misdeeds. It took an angle grinder, plasma cutters, and the steady hands of an Akso Hospital surgeon to remove the metal without causing permanent damage to the terrorists.
When questioned as to their motives the men refused to share their agenda or intentions, only swearing to never hurt a tree, bear, or river ever again.
Security Camera Malfunctions Continue Across Linkon
If you’ve been keeping an eye on the ongoing security camera crisis, you’ll already know that it’s month three of unreliable recordings and feeds.
Many in the community blame the N109 Zone, but as there has been no tangible crime yet tied to the missing feeds and unreliable data retention, no charges have been brought against anyone specific.
One of our junior journalists is working on a theory and gathering evidence. All she’s willing to put on the record is that it looks more like someone trying to do good and not get caught than someone trying to hide crimes.
Utility Vehicle Convention Moves Location to South East Linkon
Local fans of sport utility vehicles and utility terrain vehicles will be delighted to find out that the convention has changed locations last minute from West Linkon to our very own backyard. The convention will be hosted at the brand new Bisclavret Pavillion which broke ground ahead of schedule thanks to backing from EonCore earlier this year.
The convention's theme this year revolves around SUVs and UTVs keeping their classic looks while improving the quality of their internal mechanisms and integrating technology that will keep them sustainable vehicles for eons to come!
Confused Youth Wins 5k, Cedes Reward to Fund Rabbit Habitat
A young man who claims he was only out for his weekly run happened to run the same exact path as the Autumnal 5k earlier this week.
Even though he wasn’t officially registered, running the entire course and beating all registered participants still makes him eligible for the prize. When asked what he was going to do with the money, he looked around and pointed at the Sichuan White Rabbit Rescue and Rehabilitation Habitat currently under construction.
“Why would you like to give the prize money to the habitat?”
“They’re kind animals. And soft. And they seem nice.”
He politely excused himself and headed toward the boardwalk hot pot shop without answering any further questions or providing his name.
Our publication can confirm he made the proper arrangements and that next year’s 5k will feature amended rules.
