wegg
“spoke.”
wemmbu glanced at eggchan beside him, then to spokeishere standing a yard before them.
spoke wasn’t listening, he never did.
“spoke, we can talk this out bro.”
the air was humid and sticky, sweat rolled down necks as their grips on their weapons slipped momentarily.
“what is there to even talk about? we’ve already discussed everything, egg. there’s literally no “out” for you.”
he spoke with amusement in his tone. wemmbu found it humiliating, but eggchan had insisted on figuring things out diplomatically. and as always, he had to comply.
“you can’t keep us here forever.” wemmbu stated dryly.
spoke laughed bitterly, his gaze was fixated on eggchan.
wemmbu didn’t feel too good about the look spoke was giving, he prepared to have his mace at the ready.
“maybe not you, but egg surely can.”
at an instance, wemmbu lunged towards his best friend to protect him, only to be met with failure.
in a moment of blood, a snap of a finger, eggchan fell to the floor. blood was seeping slowly out of the corner of his mouth and nostrils.
eggchan was slain by spokeishere.
nothing else, just eggchan’s lifeless body against the frigid and soggy floor.
wemmbu stood there, in front of eggchan. staring at his only light in this dark world, now diminished to nothing but the same.
he had failed him.
wemmbu felt vengeance boil up inside of him. he was able to avoid violence because of eggchan, but now that he was gone, who was here to suppress true thoughts?
wemmbu clenched his hand around his mace, and without a word equipped his elytra, launching himself upwards with fireworks. under him, spoke laughed relentlessly, even after wemmbu had landed a hit on him.
“is this really how you wanna respond, wemmbu?”
he grinned with malice.
“you failed your little goon. he’s never gonna come back now!”
wemmbu grit his teeth, flying back down to land another hit.
anger fueled him round after round, he didn’t even care if he landed hits on spoke anymore. just letting this pent up frustration on the person he hated most was enough. wemmbu knew, he had to go out with a victory.
but spoke proceeded with his unbearable laughter as he fought back with surprisingly skilled parries.
“you know, wemmbu. i know your one weakness in this server, do you wanna know what it is?”
silence returned his question. spoke’s grin only grew.
“eggchan.”
wemmbu hated that condescending tone. the thought of seeing that satisfying death message increasingly made his fighting more powerful.
and soon enough, spoke’s inexperience started showing. wemmbu wasn’t dumb, he knew that spoke was just masking that arrogant shame of his.
wemmbu landed his mace just an inch away from spoke’s hand as he landed, effectively pinning him to the ground.
finally, wemmbu could see spoke’s weakness. it was crystal clear under his now raggedy netherite armor pieces and weathered down shield.
“i know your weakness too, do you wanna know?”
spokeishere was smashed by wemmbu with [gambit]
“it’s love.”
the fresh air soothed wemmbu’s soul as he flew out from underground. it was already nighttime.
climbing atop a hill, wemmbu dropped his mace, looked past the endless plains of grass before him. the night sky felt so nice under the mellow glow of the stars…
but someone was missing.
“egg, i did it.”
wemmbu watched the world pass by with unsettling tranquility.
he tried to hold back the tears that threatened to break his through his tough armor.
was he always this weak?
wemmbu sniffled as he swiped a few oak logs from a nearby tree, constructing a cross shape with the blocks. he stuck an oak sign in the center of it, writing, here lies eggchan.
wemmbu took a stumble backward, he could feel his knees weaken, now that the adrenaline had weared off.
“oh egg…”
he wiped his eyes aggresively, exhaling shaky breaths.
wemmbu fell to his knees, attempting to complete the grave as he plucked a red tulip from beside him.
he sat there for a while,
feeling the cool wind push the bangs of his violet hair in front of his face, obscuring his vision slightly.
hearing the soft rustle of the trees in the breeze.
watching the stars above and the landscape ahead until the tears came flooding back.
why did the world seem more serene now than ever now that eggchan was gone?
wemmbu reached up to his head to remove his crown, placing it beside the mace.
he looked down at the tulip encased within his palms.
the beautiful crimson of the flower soon blurred across his vision as tears dripped from the edges of his eyes.
barely planting the flower before the headstone, wemmbu whispered;
“are you proud of me?”
and a distant voice responded.
“of course, wemmy.”
