Work Text:

The morning after a party was always the worst.

There were red solo cups filled with various types of alcohol strung about almost every free surface in the house. It was inevitable, having that many people in one place. Trying to walk past the countless people passed out was worse than a hangover. Which was saying a lot. With the amount of people and all the cups, it was a disaster waiting to happen. One wrong move, and it was a horrible rendition of playing with dominos.

Or maybe Anthony was just dreading having to socialize with his head splitting open from the light coming in from the house. That often made him pessimistic about trivial things. And rightfully so.

Another thing Anthony hated was thinking back to all the stuff he'd said that night. He didn't want to look back at what he said and what he'd regret in, say, a couple hours. It just gave him unnecessary stress.

Yet, with all these complaints he had, he still threw parties and drank a shit ton. If he was gonna complain, at least make it worth it. He did like being drunk with his friends, even if they lost each other the first 30 seconds it got interesting.

Being with Coy was fun. It was easy to talk to him and they could say so much with minimal and simple words. Maybe that's why they'd gotten so close. And maybe, just maybe, that's why Coy was in Anthony's bed. Don't get the wrong idea, Anthony wasn't sleeping in the same bed as Coy. God no, he wasn't gay. Not that it was wrong to be gay, he literally had Coy in his bed.

Ugh. The light was unbearable now.

Anthony stood up and closed the curtains fully. He knew he'd have to get up eventually. But he just really wanted to stay relaxing and not do anything. Coy made a noise of… something, and Anthony looked up at him from the seat he'd sat in.

"Coy?"

No reply. Yeah, no fucking shit, genius, he was asleep! Anthony did kind of want to talk to Coy. Christ, what time was it? Anthony checked his phone. And successfully blinded himself. Fun.

It was almost 12PM already. He needed to wake up Coy and get him to help pick up the house. Anthony stood up again and sat on the bed next to Coy. Maybe… he could just lay down for a little while. In an actual bed, not on the floor. Amthony laid down and closed his eyes.

Just for a little while, he told himself.

A 'little while' didn't fucking work. It had been almost, what, two hours? And Anthony was huddled up with Coy. He didn't fully mind, but that's because they were good friends. Literally no other reason. Anthony just stayed there, holding onto Coy, who was now squirming.

"Anthony?"

"Hm?"

"What possibly could've happened last night?"

"A lot, probably."

"What do you…"

"Hey, be quiet, I'm tired."

"How do you not know what happened?"

"I don't know and I don't want to know. Stop asking me fucking questions!"

Coy flinched and moved away. Oh fuck. No, no, no. He didn't want to be rude.

"Hey, Coy. I'm sorry, I-I didn't mean to yell. Forgive me?"

"Okay."

Anthony pulled Coy closer. Not in a weird way. Like, why would that even be a thought, ever?

"If we get up, we'll have to clean up. Just let our roomates do it."

Coy drowsily nodded, holding onto Anthony's shirt."Mhm… So, you're saying we sleep together all day?"

"I never fucking said that."

"Implied."

"Shut up."

"And if I don't want to?"

Anthony put his hand over Coy's mouth. "I'll make you."

"What…" Coy's face flushed and he buried it in Anthony's chest. "You suck."

At that, Anthony just chuckled and watched Coy. Jeez, he looked really cute like this.

No, what the fuck? Not in a gay way, just… being observant! Yeah, observant. They stayed there in silence for a couple minutes before Coy yawned obnoxiously. Coy sat up and Anthony made a noise of genuine frustration. He was comfortable!

"What are you doing? We're comfortable."

"Yeah, but I wanna get up and--"

"No… Please stay."

Anthony held onto Coy. Their faces were getting dangerously close. Like, almost kissing. Not that he was thinking of it constantly just… no. Ew. He wasn't gay and even if he was gay, he wouldn't ruin their friendship. No, never.

Coy stared at him, glancing down to Anthony's lips. He was so tempted, just to see how it would feel! Not for long term or anything. They got even closer, Coy holding onto the sides of Anthony's face.

He needed to stop this. Set boundaries. But he was too curious, he wanted this for an experience! It was normal to want to experiment.

"I wanna kiss you." Coy managed to breathe out.

"I'm not gay."

"Mhm. So you don't want to kiss me?"

"I…"

"Hm?"

Anthony decided just to fuck it. He wanted to kiss Coy really bad. So badly. Oh god. Anthony pressed his lips to Coy's tentatively. Take it slow and… Holy fuck. This was the best kiss he'd ever had. Anthony pushed Coy closer, if that was even possible, and kissed Coy harder. Jesus.

"Anthony--" Coy moved one hand from Anthony's shirt to his hair.

"Christ, Coy…"

They both decided to pull away at the same time. For air. His one free kiss wasn't done yet. Y'know, the one kiss you got before it was gay? He didn't get his to the fullest. It didn't count. Redemption or something.

There was a brief moment of silence where they just stared at each other, with messed up hair and flushed faces. There was a small knock at the door before someone entered. Oh. It was just Will.

Coy was the first to say anything. "Oh. Hi, Will."

"Uhm. Hey. I thought you were…"

Anthony stared down Will. "Where did you think he was?"

"Uh, nothing. Nothing at all!" Will chuckled nervously before looking back.

"What'd you need?" Coy asked, shifting his place on the bed, which, actually, probably made it really obvious they were about to start making out.

"I just came to ask if you guys needed any pills for a headache. But, uh, seems like you're a little busy."

Anthony waved him off. "We're not busy, and yeah, could you get me some of those pills?"

"Same here. I have a headache."

Will backed out of the room, nodding. "I'll… get those to you."

As soon as Will left the room, Anthony pulled Coy close again and kissed him, desperately now.

"Coy… I'm not gay, but if I was, I'd kiss you again."

He just laughed at that and kissed Anthony. "You realize kissing a boy doesn't mean you're gay, right? You can like boys and not be gay."

"Hmm…"

"I do really like you." Coy held the sides of Anthony's face. "I don't want this to be a one time thing. You're a really good kisser."

"Thanks." Anthony smiled at Coy, very brightly too.

"If you wanna… would you ever want to date?" Coy buried his face into Anthony's chest.

Calm down calm down calm down. Okay, fuck yeah. He did really like Coy.

"That's cool. I wanna date you."

"Cool."

Maybe mornings after a party wasn't the worst thing in the world.

Now he'd always remember the morning after a party as when realized he was in love with Coy. So unbearably in love. Hangovers and the mess didn't come close to beating the feeling of waking up with him. How fun.
