Chapter Text
“You were sick?” George asked, raising an eyebrow as he looked at Kimi stuffed under 2 blankets and a comforter on the hotel room’s bed. Kimi’s face did look kind of red. He furrowed his eyebrows as Kimi coughed dryly.
“Si.”
George crossed his arms and leaned over. “I told you not to over exert yourself, but you missed practice over a cold?” He grumbled, pressing the back of his hands to Kimi’s forehead.
“I’m sick, George.”
Kimi grumbled, turning around and groaned as he nuzzled his face into the pillow with a huff. George sighed and took a seat next to Kimi, dropping the soup he had brought on the bedside table. He pulled his phone out from his pocket as it rang. George sighed and turned it off as he saw the caller ID.

“Who is it?” Kimi asked, letting out a fake couch.
“Verstappen.” George said with a huff as he moved his fingers. “I unblocked him to text and tell him that you’re sick. But I forgot to block him back.” George fiddled with his phone. “So now he’s blowing up my phone.”
Kimi prayed for mercy from the heavens as George complained about Max once again.
Little did George know..

| 5 hours earlier, post-Canada Grand Prix
George huffed and frowned as Max approached him.
“Is this really the time, Max? Kimi is missing and that psycho scientist is at it again.” George murmured as Max grabbed his torso, shoving him up against the wall.
Max pushed his race suit down in impatience, flailing hands that somehow had precision, leaving him in just the fireproofs. “We haven’t had time all weekend.” He complained, glaring up at George before crashing his lips to his.
Kimi swung by another building, clenching his jaw in concentration as he attempted and succeeded in dodging another one of the scientist’s claws. He yelped as the claw managed to cut a curl from his hair. He knew George would notice it and pester Kimi about it until he managed to find an excuse and convince George with it.
His claws— tarantula arms? Whatever it was, it was sharp. It could impale Kimi easily, even with the suit. Kimi squeaked as one tore the ribcage of his suit. Just a scrape, luckily.
He grunted and hid behind a small roof, skin tingling as he heard screams and gasps from the ground. Kimi held a hand over his wound, trying to inspect it without even looking at it.
“Ollie?” Kimi panted into his in-ear as he shot a web, stopping a rock from falling on a baby. He let out a sigh of relief and groaned as he heard the scientist call out and taunt him.
Kimi had to fucking skip FP1 just because this guy had to go ahead and attempt to kidnap the drivers once again (keyword; attempt). It was even worse that he had to fight the first half without Ollie.
Without Ollie alerting him or helping him through his in-ears, the best Kimi could do was keep the enemy stable and try not to die. He would have to salve his bruises before Ollie saw and felt guilty.
Ollie had finally managed to slip away and lock his driver's room, opening up his computer. He pressed a finger against his own in-ear.
“Yeah— sorry dude, Esteban was congratulating me for making it top 10.”
Kimi scoffed. Ollie was ditching Kimi for his teammate— okay, Kimi was being ridiculous. George was rubbing off on him. Hard. “You got top 10? That’s amazing, amor—“
He grunted as he dodged another claw.
Ollie hummed and clicked a few databases they had kept on this one. He sighed in relief as he finally found it. “Thanks, it doesn't really matter until the next race though. Looks like you’ll just have to brute strength this guy.”
Kimi groaned in annoyance. “George is going to kill me if he finds another bruise on my arm.”
Ollie chuckled and Kimi suddenly wanted to get this over with and congratulate his boyfriend this second. “Let’s finish this up quickly.” He snapped.
He finally started throwing punches at the scientist that was too huge for Kimi to have any sort of advantage.
Kimi let out a noise of pain as the claw’s blunt side hit him straight on the jaw. “Merde—“
“Fuck, are you okay?” Ollie asked immediately. Kimi sighed in exhaustion, shooting a web at the scientist's eye and swinging down to catch his breath.
He leaned against the wall and froze, looking at..
George.
And Max.
Making out. Against the wall.
Oh.
Oh.
“Kimi?” Ollie snapped into his head again, growing more concerned.
George pushed Max off immediately as they spotted him. Max adjusted his race suit, clearing his throat. George swallowed and whistled innocently, looking down at his hands as he picked at his nails. Kimi aimed his hand, ready to get out.
“Kimi?!” Ollie snapped once again. “Kimi, I am going to come find you if you don’t answer right now!”
George hummed and pulled out his phone. Max now found the sky extremely interesting. Kimi swung the fuck out of there.
“I’m fine.” Kimi said in a drowsy voice. Oh, how he wanted to quit being Spider-Man so bad.
*
Ollie bursted out laughing.
“Shut up! George is literally in the kitchen making soup.” Kimi shushed Ollie while George was in the kitchen, heating up some soup to clear Kimi’s cold so he would make it to qualifying at the least. The delivery driver had brought it cold and George had scolded him for ten minutes.
Ollie clamped a hand over his mouth, wheezing. “This is gold!” He whispered while wheezing. “Are you serious, mate? Were they shagging?” He whispered in curiosity. Kimi sat up, the sheets pooling around his waist.
“They would have if I didn't drop in. I’m pretty sure they did after I left.” he mumbled into Ollie’s ear, a smile tugging at his face as his pale ear flushed pale pink just slightly, Ollie chuckled shakily.
It had been a month since the two started dating. Kimi understood what it meant to live under sunshines and rainbows now.
They both pulled apart immediately as George stepped in. He didn’t glance twice at them, just placing down the soup he had heated up, finally looking at Ollie. “You got here quickly. Unlike a certain someone.” George scoffed, looking up at the clock.
“Well– I assumed it must've been serious if he was missing free practice.”
Kimi sighed as he saw George’s phone ding. He read the notification preview on his phone.
“Max just texted he won't be able to make it.” Kimi said, looking away, awaiting George to crash out as he lifted the soup to his mouth. Ollie bit back a smirk, his fingers tracing small circles on Kimi’s back where George was oblivious.
George’s eyes twitched. His jaw tensed and locked up. Kimi didn't know which was worse. George about to start complaining or his car actually locking up on track.
“Of course he can’t. I don’t even know why I’m surprised. He doesn’t come for anything I tell him to do..” George went on and on and on. Kimi signed and glanced at Ollie who bit back a smirk, his fingers tracing small circles on Kimi’s back where George was oblivious.
After a few minutes, Ollie had to leave, getting a call from his personal trainer. He had walked away in dread, knowing he was so late for practice.
George insisted Kimi actually sleep instead of talking with Ollie. He was just about to go out the door when Kimi stopped him. “George!”
George turned on his heel, raising his eyebrow in question.
“What is it?”
Kimi hesitated for a moment before speaking. “Are you and Max together? Like, as in a couple?”
He swallowed.
George paused. Fuck.. had Kimi heard them last night? George mentally cringed. No. He and Max had been quiet. Or did Kimi see Max walking out of George’s hotel room? Impossible. George had sent him out at 2.37 a.m and triple checked if Kimi was there.
“No, why do you ask?” George said, trying to act calm.
“Just a thought. Thanks for the soup.” Kimi mumbled, stuffing his face into the pillow as he yawned.
“Not a problem. Get better, and I mean it.”
*
Kimi had run into the Mercedes canteen, trying to escape Bono after spraying him with water. He managed to get himself lost into the engineers’ conference room. He peaked around, poking the Knick knacks on the table that he knew Toto found immature.
“Cazzo!” He yelped as he felt something bite him. Kimi looked at his finger, finding a.. spider?
He sighed and grabbed the spider, throwing it out of the window with no remorse. Kimi turned around, ducking slightly and moving on to find another place to hide from Bono.
*
Max groaned and sighed. He hadn't gone to see how Kimi was doing due to some meeting he had been pulled in terribly last minute. He knew George wasn't going to take it well, but what could he do?
George had been radio silent ever since Silverstone despite taking the win. Max hadn't even been called to ‘celebrate’.
He placed his hands in his pockets and walked through the hotel rooms, finding George’s room. 709. Or was it 708? It didn't matter. All that did matter at the moment was making sure his whatever wasn't pissed enough to give a good blowjob.
“Princess, we need to talk—”
Max’s hand stilled on the doorknob.
Kimi. Ollie. Not the biggest surprise. No.
It was Kimi wearing– well, taking off the suit spiderman wore.
Kimi froze. Ollie stood up abruptly from the bed from where he had been watching, his laptop falling to the side and bouncing off the pillow. Kimi reached for it before it hit the carpeted floor with inhumane reaction time. Max’s eyes widened. That reaction time certainly wasn't expected of a rookie.
“Oh. Okay. Don’t tell me you’re spiderman, please Kimi.”
Max slowly walked in, processing for a moment as he took three steps in before pressing two fingers to his forehead, sighing heavily as Kimi stayed blank.
“Kimi? Bearman? Do either of you have anything to say for yourselves?”
He said before taking a seat down on the couch in the hotel room. Kimi slowly slipped the suit back on so he wouldn't be half naked in front of Max. Ollie scratched the back of his head in nervousness.
“..no?” Kimi said, his hands behind his back like he had committed a felony and felt guilty as hell. Ollie sat back down, swallowing as he spoke. “Kimi is Spider-Man. And you can’t tell anyone.”
*
Life had been smooth sailing for Kimi recently. A win here, a win there and just smiles all around. Sure Mercedes wasn’t going to get a championship this year, but Toto had good hopes for the next year, and Kimi believed in Mercedes.
But none of that was in any way shape or form comparable to what had happened to Kimi this weekend.
Ollie had reciprocated his feelings. Shocking. Genuinely.
He hadn’t told George yet, and he debated telling anyone at all. He all but skipped his way to go to Ollie’s hotel; he had invited him over earlier that day. He walked into his hotel after knocking twice.
Ollie must have been in the shower. Kimi sighed and took a seat on the nearby couch overlooking the city landscape. Kimi’s legs swung around the couch in boredom as he waited for Ollie, a jittery feeling in his body.
Ollie walked out of the shower, a towel slung around his neck. Water dripped down his neck, dampening his black tee.
Oh damn.
“Sorry to keep you waiting, dude.” Ollie said, a smile creeping up his face as he walked over to Kimi. Kimi chuckled softly and waved his hand.
“It’s nothing.”
“Thanks for coming by the way– everything was just so chaotic when we.. confessed, god this is so corny.” Ollie said, laughing slightly, Kimi smiled as Ollie sat down on his bed, opposite from where Kimi sat.
Kimi nodded. “Yeah, it is. But we didn’t really get a chance to talk. My bad for confessing just before the damn race.”
Ollie’s grin widened. “You definitely fucked up my head, I was basically giggling during the race.”
“Well, you gave me good luck. Snagged a podium.”
“And you gave the luck of the top 5, but I think you’re a better surprise to be honest.” Ollie said, and Kimi could notice his hand shaking just a tiny bit as he stood up and leaned over Kimi. Oh. Okay. Breathe.
“What do you think about going on a date, maybe?” Ollie asked, his fingers fidgeting.
“Fuck, sure.” Kimi said, cursing in excitement. God, now he could brag to George that he had seen and felt heaven?
“I’m stupidly nervous. It’s embarrassing.” Ollie said, chuckling like a weight had been lifted off his chest as he leaned back on the bed, his hands fisting before relaxing, grabbing his phone to see if there was anywhere they could go.
“You’re not the only one.” Kimi replied with a soft smile. He really needed to control himself, because holy shit.
Ollie bit back as he felt his smile widening, accidentally dropping his phone as he saw Kimi smile. Damn.
“Oh.”
“I–”
Ollie’s phone was stuck to the wall with a sticky, white substance that reassembled a cobweb shape. Ollie widened his eyes, slowly looking at Kimi who had half stood up, his elbow reached out and forearm stretched.
*
Max ran a hand through his hair and sighed with tension as he leaned back against the couch while he took in the scene. Kimi Antonelli was Spider-man. His personal favourite rookie and dare he say generational talent was spider-man.
Okay.
Okay.
Not okay.
Definitely not okay.
“Does Toto know?” Max asked, inhaling sharply and directing a glare towards the two sheepish figures. Ollie looked at Kimi and he nodded slowly.
“Toto knows. He’s okay as long as it doesn’t affect my driving.” Kimi mumbled, looking away and Max wanted to rip the little guy’s head off.
Max exhaled. “That’s ridiculous. Toto would never accept that his drivers weren’t fully committed.”
Kimi shrugged. “He was okay with me.”
“That two timer. His clause for me entering Mercedes was that I cut ties with everyone in Redbull, but you can be fucking spiderman?.” Max dropped randomly, running a hand through his hair with one hand.
“Wait, what-“
“Nevermind that. I, for once, am speechless. Do you plan on telling George?” Max said as he relaxed just a tiny bit.
“No. George got worried sick when I told him I was dating Ollie, a driver on the grid. Imagine how he’d feel if I told him I was spiderman.” Kimi sighed, leaning back and sitting on the bed, Ollie sat down beside him.
Max’s eyebrows raised. Okay. He was dating Ollie.
With all of these bombshells, Max couldn't even feel any more surprise. And frankly, he couldn’t care less. It was Kimi’s decision, and Max was sure Ollie would keep him safe. Now all he wanted to do was leave, go see George–
Wait. Shit.
‘Spider-man’ had seen them making out after the race, didn't he?
Fuck.
“Kimi-“
“You and George? Yes. I— I know. I told Ollie as well.” Kimi said, sighing like it was the most disappointing thing he had ever seen in his career. George would kill him. Ollie smiled with neither guilt or fear though.
“This is not good for my heart in the least bit.” Max groaned, getting up.
“George’s room number is 709.” Kimi sighed again, relaxing just the tiniest bit as Ollie rubbed small circles on his back discreetly.
And Max was just about to get the fuck out of there until Kimi spoke. “Max– please don’t tell George. I’m being serious.” He said in a soft tone. Max sighed. “I don’t care, kid. And don’t make George any more worried.”
*
“Why are you looking at me like that, George?” Ollie asked, eyebrows furrowing as George strided towards him in that classic walk that he had seen memes about everywhere. He looked more determined though.
Ollie stood up, swallowing as he looked at George. “You know something, don’t you? Kimi’s secret.”
Ollie froze and forced out a smile. “What are you even talking about, mate?”
“Cut the crap, Oliver. I know Kimi told you something. And I don’t believe him being sick on FP1. He showed up to a meeting with a flu and we had to make him go home, so drop it. Now.” George said, raising his eyebrows at Ollie.
Ollie raised his hands in surrender. “Blimey, George. We’ve been on two dates. You think he’d really tell me anything that is important rather than telling you first?”
George’s expression relaxed by a fraction.
Okay, maybe stroking his ego is a good option.
“True, true.” George scoffed as he sat down on the bench, gesturing to Ollie to sit down as well. Ollie sat down in front of George innocently. George put his elbows on the table, leaning forward on his hands that were folded.
“So, how are things going with Kimi?”
Ollie bit back a smirk as he remembered what Kimi had told him when they first started dating.
“If George asks you anything about us, just run away. He’s just so annoying and doesn’t trust me.”
“But wasn’t he the first person who you told about us? Not even your parents— George. And I’m sure he’s just looking out for you.”
Kimi was really like George’s little brother and it was endearing, not that neither of them would admit they cared that much– maybe Kimi when he first joined, but George had really rubbed off on him. He looked at George, Ollie’s hands fidgeting under the table. “Amazing. We’re planning our third date during the summer break.”
“Good,” George mumbled with a scrutinizing look. “Just be careful not to catch any assholes who don’t know what privacy is.” George said and raised an eyebrow. “Have you met his parents yet?”
“Do I need to? I’ve met you already.” Ollie asked, thankful George had strayed from ‘Kimi’s secret’. He was more surprised Max hadn’t spilled the beans already. But he also knew Max just wanted a peaceful season.
“Huh. You’re good at this, Oliver.”
“You can call me Ollie, you know? Max calls me Bearman and you call me Oliver.” Ollie said, shrugging. George did call him Ollie like everyone else did, that was, before him and Kimi started dating.
“One, Max calls everyone by their last names, and two, what do you think we are? Best buddies?” George scoffed, leaning back and crossing his arms.
There went the friendly atmosphere.
“No, sir.”
Ollie said, his posture straightening. George gave him an approving look but not even a hint of a smile. Ollie was far from getting his approval.
“‘Russell’ is fine.”
Ollie nodded sternly and as serious as he could be.
“So, about your little date in the summer–” George leaned forward like it was some secret. “You and Kimi do know the necessary precautions to do if the both of you decide to do it, right–”
“Russell!” Ollie cut off, his ears and the tip of his nose flushing bright pink. “I think me and Kimi can deal very well with that. We’re adults. I am 20 years old.” Ollie reminded as George sat up straight.
“I know that, Ollie. It wouldn’t hurt to remind you. You two are young and in love after all.”
George sighed and looked away before throwing the glare back at Ollie. George stood up with a disappointed sigh. “I’m believing you at the moment regarding the secret, but oh-so help me if Kimi ever and I mean ever gets hurt, you can count your days.”
Ollie visibly shivered.
