Sooga
I knocked another Hylian soldier to the ground, and counterattacked a strike from a Gerudo.
BOOM!
Another cannon fired, knocking the Yiga troops back.
Knocking me back.
I hit the ground hard.
Rise up, I thought to myself, forcing myself to my feet.
I dove into the fray again, forcing as many attackers back as I could.
CRACK! BOOM!
Lightning struck, and the Yiga Footsoldiers it was supposed to hit barely managed to teleport away. In the distance, I spotted Chief Urbosa of the Gerudo, her scimitar raised high.
I knocked a Hylian down and threw a knife at him, ending him.
Kohga
I stood on the cliffs, watching the battle, while messenger Footsoldiers asked what the strategy was.
"Just hit them until they leave!" I said, and they glanced at each other, worried, an teleported away.
We were outnumbered. Outmanned.
I needed a Right Hand, a man who could give us a command so we could rise up.
But who was fit to be my Right Hand?
Sooga
I knocked more enemies back, ignoring the wounds on my arms, ignoring the thick smell of iron and blood and death.
"They're battering us down!" Ihgo said as he took down another Hylian.
I looked in the distance at the cannons, the reason the Hylians were winning.
"The Master said to just keep hitting them until they leave." Ruan replied.
"Check the damages. We have to stop them and rob them of their advantages." I said.
"How?" Ihgo and Ruan asked.
"We'll take a stand with the stamina Ganon has granted us. I won't abandon this Clan. Let's steal their cannons." I commanded, loud enough for all the Yiga to hear. Ruan and Ihgo nodded, and we all teleported closer to the cannons.
The Hylians drew their swords as we teleported next to them, but we quickly cut them down, grabbing the cannons so we could teleport them to our side.
Kohga
I quietly listened as the Footsoldiers told me of a Blademaster who was taking charge, who was leading the men.
Leading them to victory.
"Find out who he is, tell him that I wish to met him once this battle is won." I commanded.
They teleported away, and I glanced back down at the battlefield, where the Yiga were now using the Hylian's cannons against them
I was in dire need of assistance.
Perhaps this Blademaster was Lord Ganon's answer to my prayers.
Sooga
We were winning.
We were winning.
"Fire!" I yelled, and the Footsoldiers set the cannons off again, forcing the enemies back.
"Retreat!" A Hylian commander yelled, and the Hylians started to leave. Chief Urbosa, and the Gerudo, soon followed. The Yiga chased them out, and I threw my knives, taking out as many as I could.
Ruan teleported in front of the Hylian commander, and cut him down with ease before teleporting back to my side.
"What was that for?" I asked.
"To help my chances of becoming Right Hand." He replied.
"Don't forget me if you manage to get the position." I said.
"I'll make you my... secret advisor, Sooga. Don't worry." He said.
Kohga
I stood in my office, when someone knocked.
"Come in." I said. The door opened, and a Blademaster walked in.
"Who are you?" I asked. All the Blademasters tended to blend in, so it was hard to tell who was who. I tried my best, though.
"Blademaster Ruan, sir. Permission to state my case?" he said.
"I suppose." I answered.
"I took down the Hylian commander during the battle today. And well, in summary, I think I could be of some assistance. I admire how you command us from a distance." He explained.
"Huh."
"I have some questions, a couple of suggestions, of how to attack instead of defending." He said.
"Yes?" I said, wondering when he would get to the point.
"Well-" He started to say, when another Blademaster poked his head through the door, interrupting.
"Master Kohga? You wanted to see me?" He asked. Sooga. The one who commanded the men today.
"Sooga, come in, have you met Ruan?" I asked.
"Yes, sir." he answered.
"We keep meeting." Ruan said, stiffening a little, "As I was saying, sir, I look forward to seeing your strategy play out-"
"Ruan?" I interrupted.
"Yes?"
"Close the door on your way out." I said. Ruan stood still for a moment, then quietly walked out, shutting the door.
Sooga
My panic rose as Ruan walked out. I knew only the Master was supposed to command the troops, so for Master Kohga to kick Ruan out of the room before his promotion... my crime must have been more serious than I thought.
"Have I done something wrong, Master?" I asked, though I already knew the answer. I was going to be killed, or worse, exiled.
"On the contrary," The Master said, confusing me, "I called you here because our odds are beyond scary."
"Sir?" I wasn't in trouble? Then why was I called here?
"Your reputation precedes you, but I have to laugh." He explained.
"Sir?"
"Sooga, how come no one can get you on their staff?" He asked, resting his elbows on his desk.
"Sir." I said, slightly offended, stiff as a board.
"Don't get me wrong, you're a young Blademaster, an outcast, of sorts. I know you stole Hylian cannons during the attack today. Two Senior Blademasters wanted to hire you." He said, leaning back.
"To be their guard? I don't think so." I said.
"Why are you upset?" He asked.
"I'm not." I answered, but I was lying.
"It's alright, you want to fight, you've got a hunger. The Right Hands before you were just like you when they were younger." He said.
The WHAT were just like me when they were younger?!
"Head full of fantasies of dying like a martyr?" He asked. That was true. I would happily sacrifice myself for the Clan.
"Yes." I answered.
"Dying is easy, Sooga, living is harder." He said
"Why are you telling me this?" I asked. Why had he called me here?
"I'm being honest. I'm working with a bunch of troops I don't know how to command. We need a Right Hand. I need someone like you to take the position.' He explained.
ME?!!?
"So?" He asked, pulling out a mask with a horn on each side.
This was my shot. My chance to protect my home, to prove I was worthy, to repay Mastr Kohga's generosity all those years ago.
I am not throwing away my shot. I am NOT throwing away my shot. I thought to myself.
But... Ruan. He wanted to be Right Hand so bad. He was born into the Clan.
...
He would understand, right?
I took the mask, and bowed as low as I could.
"I will not let you down, Master Kohga."
"I know you won't, General Sooga." He said.
General Sooga.
...
I needed to become the best of the best, if I was to protect Master Kohga, and lead the Yiga Clan whenever we went to battle.
I was going to rise up, repay Master Kohga for saving my life five years ago, rise up til I rose to the occasion.
