Chapter Text

The first time it happened, they were doing a live to help one door fall asleep with them. Everyone was tired from their schedules and just wanted to go home.
But then they were told they had to sit for a live. At first, everyone protested; their day had been packed, and they were dead on their feet. Besides, the live was going to be at night.
So, their company threw them a sweetener, acknowledging their hard work.
“How about you fall asleep in the live? We can make it a content where you help Onedoors sleep on time with you?”
The members were suspicious- falling asleep in a live? Without opening it with Greetings and without talking for the whole of it? They had a suspicion the staff would prank them.
So, the members had all reluctantly agreed. They had all been given comfortable clothes to sleep in, and while they were adjusting their mics, everyone was still feeling suspicious of the treatment.
Sungho kept asking questions, “Is it really okay to just go and sleep? Is there a hidden mission? Is it right to just fall asleep while the cameras are rolling?”
All of the members were thinking the same thing and were curious for the answer. However, the staff kept reassuring them that they just had to fall asleep and it was fine.
Finally, they turned on the live, and three of the members were too tired to even question their decision. All of them simply moved towards the pre-made beds and chose a spot to sleep.
Jaehyun was so tired his eyes slipped closed on their own accord as soon as his head hit the pillow.
It wasn't as comfortable as his bed. But Jaehyun didn't care. He vaguely had an impression of where every member was. He also heard Woonhak changing places.
Jaehyun was hanging between the cusps of consciousness when Sungho once again started asking questions. Jaehyun wanted to sigh; his yeppi sure was the most suspicious of them all. An overthinker who had to be reassured absolutely in order to feel calm and confident in what he did. Jaehyun adored him to death, but he asked a lot of questions.
When the questions come for the fourth time, Jaehyun has had enough of it. He forces his eyes open and looks at Sungho upside down.
“Go to sleep,” Jaehyun whispers to him so as not to wake up others who might be asleep. “They told you to sleep.”
“No, but,” Sungho’s voice sounds again, “Is it okay to sleep without saying anything?”
“Yes, they told you to sleep. So, go to sleep.” Jaehyun answers.
Sungho still looks skeptical, but all Jaehyun can really focus on is how beautiful his boyfriend looked even in the dim lighting and in an upside-down view. Jaehyun slightly envied his ability to look good in anything, anywhere, and anytime.
“I feel like that's a trap though,” Sungho eyes the production team behind the cameras warily.
Jaehyun feels a helpless laugh bubble up. “Ah, please. Go to sleep. There is no hidden mission.”
One of the staff also confirms this statement and reassures him that it's okay to sleep. Only then does Sungho relent and lie back down on the sofa to sleep.
Probably due to the disturbance, Riwoo, who had lost all energy during practice and back-to-back shoots, woke up. He had been very tired and down after the schedule, and Jaehyun knew he just wanted to go home.
So he welcomes him wholeheartedly when Riwoo shuffles closer to him seeking comfort and safety. Jaehyun never denies his members affection when they seek it from him. They trust him to hold them through whatever inner turmoil they are going through, and Jaehyun never wanted to break it.
So, Jaehyun wraps his arm around Riwoo and lightly pats him to sleep. But then he hears a scoff and a huff of a sarcastic laugh above his head.
“Are they serious? What are they doing?” Then he hears laughter follow. Jaehyun is curious as to why Sungho is laughing so hard and opens his eyes to look at him.
Sungho looks down with a grin and says, “You two look like a newlywed couple.”
Though it sounds jolly, Jaehyun's heart jolts at the sourness that seems to accompany it.
“What? You jealous?” Jaehyun boldly chimes in. Laughing along, Riwoo seems to have noticed the tension and looks up at Sungho too.
“If you want to join, just say so,” he teases and moves away.
Sungho gives out empty protests, but his greed wins, and he steps down from the sofa. Riwoo is ready to roll to the corner and let Sungho sleep in between, but Sungho remains stubborn and instead takes the corner.
Riwoo laughs at that and extends an arm for Sungho. But Sungho expertly lets Riwoo's arm slide below his neck while his cheek fits perfectly into Jaehyun’s warm palm that isn't pillowing Riwoo's head.
Jaehyun scoffs and laughs, “So you did want to join after all.”
Sungho doesn't say anything and leans into the warmth that spreads at the contact from his cheek.
Truthfully, Sungho has been starving for Jaehyun’s attention these past few days. Even if they are dating, they haven't been able to see each other much at home, and the packed schedules have them so exhausted that neither has the strength to overcome the stairs and enter the other's room for a night together.
And Sungho has been missing Jaehyun desperately. So this little contact with him feels like everything is slotting into its place rightfully, and Sungho can finally breathe after drowning in longing for his boyfriend.
The fingers curl into Sungho's cheek lightly, and he opens his eyes to find Jaehyun staring at him. His eyes are dark, full of smug confidence and affection.
Sungho rolls his eyes.
But sleep still eludes him. He lifts his head away from the pillow and looks across to where Woonhak seems to be dead to the world.
Jaehyun also lifts himself to look where he is looking, and the same mischief shines in their eyes. Jaehyun takes the plushie that Sungho hands him and carefully aims for the sofa. Then, when Sungho counts to three, he throws it at the youngest, and they both immediately pretend to sleep.
Woonhak complains and throws the plushies back, but Jaehyun and Sungho continue. Then Jaehyun gets up to directly go and tease Woonhak, and Sungho follows him without thought.
Soon enough, chaos rises everywhere with Taesan and Leehan joining in the fun, and Sungho feels warm and happy.
This, this is his family. The newfound family that he loves to death and wants to stay by his side forever.
