Waiting for your call, I’m sick

Summary:

Usually, Reo would be the one looking out for him. Making sure he ate properly, slept well, finished all his training drills.

And usually, Reo would be the one chasing after him. Clinging to him like a dog, following him around everywhere, constantly striving to be close to him.

Now, the roles have completely reversed. Except, this isn’t a temporary shift, no. It’s going to be like this forever.

or

a very short one shot about nagi’s feelings after reo blocked him and all

Work Text:

A few days.

It had only been a few days since Reo had blocked Nagi.

The sunlight coming down through his curtains every morning didn’t seem so bright anymore. The once peaceful walk to school now made his eyes water and throat tighten. The pleasant laughter and chatter in the halls suddenly felt so loud. So, so loud, now that Reo is gone.

He wasn’t taking it well, to say the least.

Nothing felt exciting anymore. Nothing made him happy. No one could make him happy. Atleast not like Reo used to.

Reo. Reo. Reo

Reo, Reo, Reo, Reo, Reo, Reo, Reo…

On loop, the same name in his head. The same person in his head.

His bright, white smile, and those stupidly perfect teeth. His far-too-cheerful facial expressions, no matter the occasion. His eyes, the eyes that would look right into Nagi’s own. Those deep, purple ores, that he most definitely took for granted. His matching hair-colour, the same hair he’d let Nagi play with, all the time. His… His…

A tear escaped Nagi’s rich maroon eyes, carrying the weight of each fragmented memory. Every single memory engraved into his head. All the memories of Reo he’s repeating in his head over and over again, so he doesn’t ever forget him. Ever.

It’s already 9PM.

In an ideal world, he’d be laying in his bed, playing his favourite game, talking to his favourite person.

After all, life isn’t fair.

It’s already 9PM.

The only light is his room was the soft gleam of the television. He’d tried to watch a youtuber he used to watch when we was younger. A pathetic, and incredibly desperate attempt at cheering himself up.

But, that’s not possible anymore, and deep down he knows it, because the only person who ever cheered him up is Reo.

He lay huddled up in his sheets, snuggled under the duvet, as if hiding from the rest of the world. For the third time today, his throat tightens, and more raindrops fall from his eyes.

Nagi was (clearly) never relatively exceptional at expressing his feelings. But right now, every single emotion felt amplified by millions and millions.

He was never one to be kept waiting, by anyone, at all.

But right now, he’s sick, he’s angry, he’s desperate, so fucking desperate.

And just in case Reo ever changes his mind, Nagi will always be waiting, waiting for his call.
