There was a war happening at Liyue, where the Fatui had planned to target them to attack and destroy but the Fontainians joined their side to help them out. However as all of them are fighting, a thousand Millelith and Fontainians have lost their lives. Until the pink-haired woman heard one of her companions screaming her lover’s name, as she finished murdering Fatui. She saw what happened, it was too far but she could still see it across until she saw a glimpse of the brown-haired person getting shot in the chest where it could possibly stop her life. Her eyes were widened like she saw something tragic which made her lose her emotions and started killing Fatui.
One of her companions was trying to help and stopped the bleeding while the pink-haired woman kept fighting as the Fatui declared a retreat due to how many soldiers of theirs lost their lives as Liyue recruited a lot of army and companions while joining a side Monstandt, Inazuma, and Natlan, and Sumeru. As they retreated, Some of them started celebrating and successfully defended the liyue however… the people’s lives were gone and thousands of them lost even though the pink-haired woman still wanted to fight back as she was trying to chase them down but a purple haired woman name Keqing insist on stopping her, wrapping her arms around the pink-haired girl’s torso, giving it a force to not let go while Yanfei was the in verge to breakdown and cry taunting and calling out Fatui, yelling “COWARDS! YOU COME BACK HERE!” as she started kneeling down and started sobbing in pain. Keqing had felt her emotions and hold her, comforting her.
“Yanfei… It’s over, calm down” Keqing wept softly as she tried to comfort her however Yanfei still couldn’t accept it as Yanfei screamed as she sobs, the screams sounded like a heart breaking in pieces.
“Lyn…” Yanfei sniffled as she looked at Keqing “Are they…” Yanfei asked worriedly and gave their expression to them; however, Keqing didn’t want to know the truth as she stayed silent and looked down for a minute. Giving Yanfei’s words are lost and trying to guess exactly what happened to them.
“Don’t…Don’t tell me” She tried to control her emotions as Keqing gave a final thought that she looks at Yanfei once again and she’ll know her answer will be correct.
“I think… it’s best you find them to know the truth…I’m sorry…” Consoling Keqing as she doesn’t want to see her best friend lose her partner as her partner stands up immediately and tries to find them.
Yanfei was covered in bruises and the blood was mixed of fatui’s and her lost comrades. Slowly observing around her surroundings, seeing some of fatui’s and other nation’s decreased body was making her panic and thinking worriedly about her partner as she started calling out their name. But then, as she slowly looked around, she saw a familiar outfit which their partner was wearing and recognized their face but it was lying down, holding the fatal part where the fatui shot them. She immediately shocked and started running towards them and kneeling down. She was hopeless, there was nobody at this point, it was only them so she tried to carefully grab her torso and rest their head on Yanfei’s arms. She was trying her best to hold her emotions, she didn't want to show her true emotions to them but they were still breathing but it was slow and steady, they only had a minute to live, they were covered in a lot of bruises and blood coming out from her fatal part. Yanfei was trying to speak up.
“L-Lyn.. I’m…I’m so sorry for not saving you” Yanfei said with how devastated she was seeing her partner in this state. Lyn was trying to slowly breathe and speak up but they slowly carelessly held Yanfei’s cheeks with their right arm, slowly rubbing using her thumb and even gave a smiled.
“You’re…You’re so cute when you’re worried…” Lyn mumbled as they let their tears slowly run down. Even Yanfei started gave a quick chuckled.
“This is..not the time for jokes…” Yanfei said as she couldn’t hold her emotion at this point.
“I’m not joking” Lyn said as they were being serious.
“Yanfei, my love…” Lyn sniffled as they couldn’t handle how worried and painful to see their lover crying.
“I’m so sorry…” Lyn apologized “ For leaving you” Sobbing as Lyn started laughing as Yanfei smiled but couldn’t handle how much she love Lyn so much.
“Stop… You’re going to live please…” Yanfei tried to look around and yell for help but no one came while they were busy and knowing that they couldn't help Lyn due to how fatal her injury was. Lyn was trying to call out to her and convince her that there’s no other way of Lyn surviving. Yanfei started crying desperately but Lyn once again speak up, calling her name as Yanfei gazed at Lyn’s last minute of her life.
“Promise me… Promise me you won’t forget me…” Lyn promise her even though it hurts but there is no choice.
“I would never forget you Lyn…I promise you everything…” Yanfei said, sobbing as she holds and grabs Lyn’s hand still placing on her cheeks.
“I will always love you” Yanfei expressed how much she promised and love her lover no matter what.
“Then…” Lyn suddenly gave a quick smile to her and slowly got up to kiss her as Yanfei knew what they were doing. Tears were running down slowly as they pressed their lips together, Yanfei wanted to stay like this forever however it will never happen because her dear partner was slowly ending their life.
The kiss stopped as Lyn was about to feel heavily sleepy and dizzy during their passionate kiss.
“I’m sorry… but we were meant to be…” Lyn said sobbing as she quickly smiled at Yanfei but slowly fading as her sparkle eyes started disappearing and slowly closing their eyes, while Yanfei immediately suddenly started calling out Lyn’s name, panicking, desperate and even devastated. Her emotions were mixed with pain and guilt, started screaming louder than an air horn.
Tears were running down faster after Lyn’s life was gone as Yanfei started hugging Lyn’s decreased body tightly. It was cold and warm to the point Yanfei sobs harder than before but as she was grieving, a lot of malith and even her companions heard her voices as they helped her out and approached her. But all they could do was watch her since Lyn's life was gone.
Keqing approaches Yanfei by tapping on her shoulders as Yanfei slowly looks at her and immediately hugs her tightly and Keqing responds to them. The lawyer buried her face on Keqing’s shoulders to wipe her tears and screams.
However one thing Yanfei promised to her was to never forget them as time flies by, she still lives her life normally but her heart remains with her partner. Which made her realize that Lyn’s last words were true.
They really were meant to be together.
