Chapter Text
࣪ ִֶָ☾.
If you were to ask Jisung exactly when he developed feelings for Minho, he would probably tell you he couldn’t remember, that it was insignificant seeing where the two are today. But, if you dove deeper, looked in all the tiny cracks and crevices of his heart, pull back every groove of his mind, you would see he could tell you the exact moments he fell a little more for him.
It was in between the long stares, when it felt like Minho could read him so easily- every line and white lie, he read in between the lines without even being asked to. As if it came so naturally, just as easily as breathing. It was in the middle of the night conversations they would have— the ones that followed after lat night snack runs or when thoughts were too loud for a proper rest— where they would talk about everything and nothing all at once, in these moments came the realization that they were one of the same yet entirely different. It was in between Minho treating Jisung like he was someone to be learned about, not just someone to be molded to whoever he was around.
The two met more accidentally than anything else, Jisung- 20, a ball of both confusion and excitement stored in a boys body, while Minho who was 22, on the outside seemed like he had it all together, his eyes looked feline from the smudged eyeliner that would often be fixed on his face. They were put together to be partners in a college communications class, Jisung was intimidated beyond belief, he had to constantly remind himself to breathe and blink when in a six foot radius of the man. How could he not when Minho was probably the most angelic person he’d ever seen. It’s amusing seeing how different they are now considering they barely talked in the first place.
Jisung couldn’t fight the way his hands would shake and sweat, knees clacking together whenever Minho so much as breathed the same air as him. Truthfully, the boy never thought he would get a chance to befriend him, he would take any ounce of closeness the two shared during their study sessions and hold it near to his heart. Maybe it was dumb or overzealous to call Minho his hallway crush, but the man was utterly breathtaking, how could he not? The two never spoke, not really, not beyond the projects they had to complete. Jisung had never been the type to fall for someone so easily, he had more pride than to allow himself to basically collapse to his knees in front of an attractive man, until Minho. Ever since the bunny toothed boy walked into his life Jisung felt like a damn middle school prepubescent boy who was relearning his sexuality. It tugged at the youngers heart when they parted, something gooey and needy pulling at his chest… not that he could ask for more, but was it so bad to want to be friends? When the two would sit down to work on whatever the professor cursed them with both boys were mute outside of pointing our facts or counterarguments. Jisung could never bring himself to ask about his day, or what the older did outside of class — he was thankfully graced with the information that the cat like boy was a dancer, he was quiet in general, and in fact did not have a boyfriend … thank you, Felix. — his palms would become warm with sweat itching at his skin before he could utter a word. At least that was until Minho began peeling back his own shyness like an onion.
It was during a late night study session at the library when Minho had finally spoke about something other than how media affects society. Jisung had been minorly tweaking in his own skin, having not slept a decent amount of hours in far too many days. Knees bouncing under the table as he read over the same sentence over and over again until a burning sensation started and his eyes went unfocused. He brought a hand covered by the baggy hoodie swallowing him and rubbed at his dry eyes, briefly reminding himself that he indeed should have opted for glasses over contacts tonight.
“Are you hungry?” A soft voice questions.
Jisung paused, ink bleeding into his paper he was jotting notes on, looking up the boy blinked once. Twice. After a third blink and a slight cough, “What?”
“Hungry? You know like food..?” An amused smirk played onto Minho’s lips, it was nearing eleven in the night, thankfully the library was open twenty four hours- from the dimmed florescent lights, Jisung noticed for the first time the older wasn’t occupied by his usual smudged liner, he could see Minho’s rounded eyes, how they sparkled perfectly even with the dim lights. His heart sped up as if this was the first time truly seeing the other.
“Jisung-ah?” Minho spoke out again, head slightly titled in question, causing Jisung to sputter embarrassingly at the mere fact he was not only ogling but also lost all train of thought for what was previously asked of him.
“Yes!” the younger finally managed to spit out, “Hungry, yes, food, good!” He practically face planted, wanting to ball up into embarrassment until his ears were filled with laughter. Sure in any other case being laughed at may have wanted him to pout dramatically, but Minho’s laugh was god sent. High pitched and raw, so real, so him.
“Come on then, there’s a convenience store that’s open late. My treat, Jisungie.”
From then on it was as if the two became inseparable, they did everything together with zero complaints. They would often find each other in hallways on their way to other classes, it was kind of an automatic assumption that they would sit together in their shared class. Having movie days almost weekly was a given. If there was a new cafe opening? The two would try it without an ounce of hesitancy. A new restaurant or movie? Jisung wouldn’t even need to pull out his big boba eyed and pout combo for Minho to take him. The way the younger would once clamp his mouth shut to make sure not to say too much had slowly undid itself, he began to tell the older any and all thoughts he had even if some were borderline dumb. Minho would grace the younger with permission of calling him hyung, yet sooner than not Jisung would somehow meddle his way into dropping most honorifics at all.
Eventually, their friend groups would mingle together. Jisung bringing Chan, Felix and Changbin who he had known since childhood. The three had been his vice, his reason for staying afloat in the times where everything felt like it was trying to take him out. He remembers the late nights when he would often call his hyung’s asking to stay the night over, they would happily agree instantly and overtime Jisung wasn’t surprised to see his sunshine twin when he arrived. Minho tried to tell Jisung they would be fine without his set of annoyances (ie. Hyunjin, Jeongin, and Seungmin) however the other pushed and continued to pry - borderline tear up - until a bunny like pout met the older lips, begrudgingly agreeing. It was funny really how they all clicked like missing puzzle pieces. As every hangout passed, both friend groups blurring the lines of separation.
࣪ ִֶָ☾.
The feelings that would flutter in Jisung’s chest every time he even thought of the other was still there. They never went away or subsided, but the closer the two grew the more he decided it was best to put all of his butterfly feelings in a bag and hide it in the deepest corners of his heart and mind, his heart would still stutter at the long gazes the two would share, his skin would burn when their hands would touch, but he would give up any of those feelings to keep the person who felt like they understood him more than he himself did. Plus, the older gave no direct sign to Jisung that he returned those feelings, if Jisung did confess maybe he would scare the other away, his feelings weren’t hurting anyone from the silence of his own heart. Minho was a gift, his best friend he would forever be grateful to have. What would Jisung do if he had to endure losing him?
Jisung was faced head on with that thought when the year finally came to an end, Minho was set to graduate and it would be a lie to say he was not utterly devastated. It felt as though a nail was placed in the center of his heart being constantly hammered into as each day passed, his thoughts began to spiral. What if Minho never spoke to him again after their classes ended? Would he really lose his best friend? Sure, Jisung had Chan, Changbin, and Felix who had been stuck with him for years, seeing all the depths of his phases, fears and mountains he has over come, they were his reasons for living as well as he had been - but Minho was different. They were two of the same people, just written differently - yet they still understood each other better than anyone. The thought of not seeing him anymore due to the older finding his own path in life was gut wrenching. It made him nauseous at the thought alone. Ever the wise one, Jisung did the only thing his mind could process… he distanced himself. Pulled away slowly before the band aid could be ripped off all at once out of his control. It was a dumb thought to think the other wouldn’t notice, wouldn’t care.
Felix and Jeongin had tried- brutally tried, to drag the moping body of Jisung, it had been two days since he last saw Minho, last talked or texted him. His phone now resided across his room, faced down and shut off to not hear it insufferable vibrating from where the older was blowing up his phone. Jisung had found himself in a heap of his own body, sheets holding on for dear life as he continued to roll back and forth on the sheets, clinging hard onto the hoodie that has yet to leave his body - Minho’s hoodie, his mind happily supplied him - but really who could judge him. If this was how his friendship was to go down, at least let him rot in the one thing that still smells faintly like his life line.
Felix laid his body on top of his own, “Come on Jisungie, you can’t hide away in here forever! What even happened? Did you two fight? Did Minho do something?” Felix was a ball of sunshine in itself, but more than anything he was protective of those he loved, age be damned he would rip anyone and anything apart if they hurt his friends.
“Hyung would never do something like that… right Sung?” Jeongin spoke from where he was sat on the floor, idly scrolling through socials.
“No- jesus get off of me Lix, I’m fine. Everything is fine, he didn’t do anything.” The attitude seeped in truly before Jisung could fight it.
“Then why do you look like a poor puppy who has been kicked, hmm?” Leave it to Felix to read him like an open book.
“Yeah, and why are you here in the first place? I think this is the longest I have seen you and hyung separated in… a year now?” Not Jeongin too..
“Okay, first off I live here. And second-” Jisung paused to take a tentative breath, “Look.. hyung is graduating.. soon he will have too much on his hands, a job, dance, the cats, and he won’t even have time for me. I just thought-”
“Oh my god Sung- Don’t you dare tell me that you allowed yourself to spiral into a deep hole and now you are avoiding Minho hyung- did you even talk to him?” Felix interrupted looking deeply offended.
Silence. Loud, overbearing silence.
“Sung!” Felix shouted, appalled.
“Hyung..” Jeongin left his phone on the floor, looking just as appalled as Felix sounded.
“Look, it- it wasn’t like I just- I didn’t mean to…” Worrying at his bottom lip, suddenly his rash decision of dropping off the face of the earth had come crashing down on him. “He will be living his life… and I just thought if I pulled away first maybe it would hurt less than if- when, he does it later..”
“And how did you know he will even pull away, leave you behind?” Felix looked dead on in his eyes, as if he could read into every thought and see there was no real evidence behind why Jisung acted this way.
“I- I don’t… I just thought…” His heart was thumping within its cage a repeating sound of ‘lup-dup’ raining into his ears.
“With all due respect hyung… No you didn’t.” Jeongin deadpanned, almost seeming peeved causing both of the other boys to have their mouths dropped to the floor.
It was incredulous really, this whole situation was. “What?” Jisung asked despite it feeling like he couldn’t catch the train of overwhelming thoughts whirl winding in his mind.
“You didn’t think, not really, if you thought- no think, for one minute that hyung would leave you behind, he wouldn’t do that to any of his friends.”
Friends.
There was that word, it was true, the two were the best of best friends- so why did it feel like the word purposefully stabbed him every time it was spoken in his direction?
Friends. That is what they were.
Jisung must have been quiet for a moment too long, maybe it was the dulled look in his eyes, maybe it was the biting at his lip which caused small cuts to appear, whatever the case Felix could see something more in it all. See the want- the yearning. The desire that was slowly coursing through Jisung’s veins and started to overflow.
“Holy shit-” It sounded more like gasps than actual words that left the two boys that were staring him down.
“Sung,” the youngest spoke, “Do you like-”
Jisung moved quicker before he could finish his sentence to cover his mouth.
“Don’t.” Jisung’s voice sounded raw and raged, shoulders caved in, the hoodie cradling him more now like a blanket as he continued to shrink in on himself, “Please.. don’t tell him..”
The blonde reached over to lower Jisung’s hand on Jeongin’s mouth, bringing his own hand to raise Jisung’s chin, “Sung, have you told him?”
Jisung avoided eye contact, finding the corner of his room very appealing at the moment. “I- no.. I can’t Lix..”
“And, why not?” There was something behind the fox eyes boring into his soul, as if he knew things the other didn’t but Jisung was never one to read minds.
“Because.. Ineyah, he has been your friend for years you know better than I do. How caring he is. What if I tell him.. what if I tell him and everything is ruined? He doesn’t like me like that, but what if he stays because he pities me?”
“Hyung, why would you think he doesn’t like you?”
“Because- guys I’m me.. I am weird and anxious and also somehow loud and excited all at once, I see how everyone stares when we go out together and that is just us as best friends, he- he could have anyone and everyone. He can’t have me, that would be like..” Jisung paused to catch his breath not realizing how much he had truly been holding in.
“Like..?” Felix pushed.
“Like picking up a bug on the floor and choosing to love it while everyone questions your every move..” The boy cringed as his voice cracked off at the end.
“But shouldn’t Min be the one to decide that?’
“He can’t-”
“I’m a big boy Hannie, I can make my own decisions.” Suddenly, it felt like a bucket of ice cold water had been dumped onto Jisung’s head- Minho was here. He hadn’t even heard the door open but nonetheless he was here. In his room. Hearing all of his worries.
“Minho..” Jisung breathed; Minho heard everything… “Why are you- How did you- Did you guys know?” Jisung looked at the other two boys accusingly.
Jeongin got up, grabbing Felix with him, “He was outside looking like a kicked kitten, to be fair we told him not to come in but it seems like cats don’t know how to listen.”
Minho just glared at him with no real bite behind his eyes.
Felix made his way to the door with the youngest following suit, “I’m sorry Sung, but really you two need to talk. Maybe it will put an end to your moping.”
“Hey! I was not moping!” Jisung shouted with a pout reaching his lips as he threw one of his pillows at the boys.
The older boy was standing against the wall by the bedroom door, seemingly waiting for the others to leave, as every second passed he could feel his nerves sky rocketing causing him to fidget with the hemming of his hoodie - Minho’s hoodie, the hoodie he had technically stolen and was now being caught with. The front door could be heard opening, not so subtle whispers from the boys discussing how this was going to go following, just before they could make their way out Felix shouted.
“Be safe!”
“Lix let’s go!”
“Don’t do anything I wouldn’t do!”
“Ew! Get out!”
And then the door shut, leaving Minho and Jisung sitting in a deafening silence.
Jisung started scrambling in his brain for any possible thing to say, however any time it felt like he could grasp onto a sentence it left his mind before it could form. What could he say? If the boy had heard what the younger said, how could one just brush it off? Jisung felt so astronomically dumb, he felt like the world had fucked him up in ways he didn’t even know were possible, making his brain waves cross over each other slowly turning to mush.
࣪ ִֶָ☾.
Minho had noticed the pull away from Jisung almost instantly, it was in the way his texts got vague, leaving him on read when typically his answers would come within seconds. There was no weird memes or random questions from the younger and eventually the messages stopped at all. He tried calling and texting to no avail, at some point he went to seek out Chan and Changbin trying to get some answers if he somehow managed to anger Jisung but the two were just as confused.
He tried to deem it as Jisung just having an off day, it wasn’t unusual for him to close off from the world when the weight was too much for him, however - it was unusual for Jisung to shut out Minho. In the last year that they’ve grown closed Minho could pride himself in being the exception to that fact.
After two days he accepted or well he tried to accept that the distance was clearly created for a reason, maybe the other did just need some space. After bothering his cats one too many times he went, sulking, to the convenience store to distract himself- which led him to sending photos to Jisung, just to see if there was any changes but nothing…
Which is how he ended up outside of his apartment, indeed looking like a sad kicked kitten. When Felix and Jeongin had showed up it was like having a life line, he chose to ignore the fact that the two full on cackled at him. Mind zoned in on the very fact that he would finally see his Sungie- until all his hopes came crashing down when they basically ordered him to stay outside.
He pouted, age be damned- full on pouting, brows furrowed but despite his stubbornness, had fully intended on listening.
Well… until time kept passing.
Thirty minutes, gone.
An hour, the sky was slowly filling with orange and pink hues.
Once it reached an hour and a half who could blame the sad kitten for making his way inside. Quietly of course, shuffling off his feet, setting down the bag on the entry way table before descending into the living room, shifting on his feet as he debated on staying there until he heard his name being mentioned from the bedroom down the hall.
“-are avoiding Minho hyung- did you even talk to him?” Even though it was muffled he heard it clear as day, so quietly he padded his way with socked feet towards Jisung’s room.
He listened, and maybe he shouldn’t have but the boy was avoiding him. It may have only been a short amount of time but it did deeply pained him to feel so far away from Jisung in more ways than one. Leaning against the wall by the bedroom door, he listened attentively. His ears flared with heat at hearing what the younger boy felt towards him, slowly making it’s way in a pink hue to his cheeks and down his neck. It felt his lungs were finally getting oxygen at the confession, eyes watering slightly in overwhelming happiness.
And the happiness was levitating until Jisung started talking poorly about himself that Minho realized he was radiating with frustration, jaw ticking as his brows furrowed. Jisung was beautiful, he was kind, he was real — seeing Minho as more than just a pretty boy who was closed off. The boy had squirrel like features that he adored and somehow the squirrel looking boy had meddled his way into his heart. Truthfully, Minho hadn’t ever outright told a soul - not even his cats - about his feelings, it was not anyone else’s business but his. Minho fell for the shy boy who would puff his cheeks in the library when he didn’t understand what they were studying, he never noticed how people would look at them, the only thing that grasped his attention was the sparkling look in the youngers eyes when he was talking about a new anime.
“Like..?” Felix pushed at Jisung to continue. Minho leaned in closer, fists clenching at his sides.
“Like picking up a bug on the floor and choosing to love it while everyone questions your every move..” Jisung was like a bug, his bug. A very cute, lovable bug.
“But shouldn’t Min be the one to decide that?’
“He can’t-” At that Minho pushed open the door and stepped inside, not being able to endure anymore. All anger dimming away at the sight of Jisung in his hoodie he noticed had gone missing weeks ago. It practically swallowed the younger whole but it made Minho’s hearts do flips.
“I’m a big boy Hannie, I can make my own decisions.”
Jisung looked up at him, eyes rounded, all he wanted to do was cradle him in his arms and kiss all of his worries away. He continued to stare at Jisung as the other boys left, seeing him pick at loose threads on his hoodie. Did Jisung really not see how adored he was?
As soon as the front door shut Minho let a beat pass before speaking up, “Jisung.”
The younger flinched, his thoughts flushing out his surroundings.
“Sung-ah” Minho tried again.
When he got no response he took it upon himself to make his way to the edge of the bed. Jisung finally looked up at Minho, looking lost yet his eyes were filled with stars.
“Can I sit?” Minho kept his voice soft, a tone reserved only for Jisung. He waited for the brief nod from the other before invading his space, leaving ample room just in case.
“Min listen-” “Hannie-” Both boys started at the same time, causing each of them to smile a bit at each other. Ironically, Minho felt like he could breathe a bit better just from seeing a smile grace Jisung’s mouth.
“You first.” Minho placed a soft hand on Jisung’s knee rubbing a reassuring thumb across his bone.
“Did you hear..?” Jisung asked hesitantly, Minho nodded. “Look, I’m sorry- for it all. I didn’t mean to catch feelings. And I tried, hyung trust me I tried to swallow everything down- I mean you are my best friend. I would never want to lose that, but clearly you heard that I failed at that..”
Jisung dropped his head back down, looking at his lap now, “And I’m sorry for distancing myself.. you graduate soon- in a week, and you will be starting a new life, a life you may not have time for me in.” Jisung felt pathetic as his eyes started to water, “I- I didn’t, I don’t want you to leave me behind.. I didn’t want to feel like pain of you leaving me so I pulled away first..”
“Sung-ah, you’re so silly.” Minho brought a gentle hand to Jisung’s cheek, “Why would I ever leave you behind bug?”
“Wh-what?” Jisung attempted to blink all the tears out of his eyes.
“Jisungie. You have made a you shaped hole in my heart, don’t you know?”
“Hyung, this- this isn’t funny..”
“I am being dead serious.”
“Min.. what are you-”
“I’m saying I like you dummy, I have liked you for longer than I should admit to… you somehow broke down all my walls and wiggled into my heart. You’re my best friend, yes, but Sung you are an idiot to think my heart doesn’t already belong to you.”
At that, Jisung couldn’t help but lung into Minho’s arms. He hid his face into his neck trying to scramble his way into his skin, Minho was quick to catch him. Holding him close as if he hadn’t been able to breathe without him.
They sat there breathing each other in. The older carried a warm cherry and vanilla scent seeping onto his skin and clothes, the younger smelt of chamomile and amber.
“Hyun-hyung I’m so sorry-” Jisung hiccuped, “I was such an idiot, I-”
“Shhh, Sungie, hyung’s got you. I was an idiot too. Breathe for me jagi.” Jisung’s heart fluttered at the pet name, full on grew wings and everything.
The two weren’t sure how much time had passed but Minho didn’t rush the younger, just continued to rub soft circles into his back. Minho felt complete with the other back in his arms. He remembers when the two were first paired together in their class, how nervous he was around Jisung, the boy whose knees would bang together whenever Minho would speak. He noticed how the boy would lack taking care of himself, how when he would get fidgety it was likely the other was anxious, hungry or tired. Minho took it upon himself to take care of Jisung from then on.
As time passed he got to truly know the boy, what his favorite movies were, how his eyes would brighten when he tried sweet treats, at every long gaze he could feel his heart begin to race. When their arms would rub together on walks, it felt like constellations were being left in his place. Minho noticed the small things, the way that the latter would try to self soothe himself when his anxiety spewed out of him; he would often find the younger leaving gentle scratches on his arms and legs. Sometimes drawing shapes and humming just to calm his nerves. The more the two talked, Minho wanted to climb inside Jisung’s brain and make a home inside. How could Jisung not see the heart eyes practically sparking when Jisung so much as breathed.
“Is that my hoodie, Sungie?” A teasing tone was laced in Minho’s voice.
“Well- uhm- no-” Jisung stuttered, trying to dig his way into the olders skin.
“Oh? It isn’t? Are we lying to each other now, my Sungie?”
His, his, his. “Your?” Jisung couldn’t help but ask.
“Mm, I plan on taking you out, treating you how you deserve. But, until then, I do see you as mine, I have for a while now.” Minho spoke confidently, “Well, unless someone else-”
“No! No one else, ever actually.” And maybe Jisung could have held in the last part but truthfully his mind was practically goo to hold back.
At this, Minho pulled back making the two boys hold eye contact, “Ever?”
“Ever.” Jisung confirmed with a bright pink blush meeting his cheeks. “Just you, Min.”
The smile that met Minho’s face was breathtaking, it felt like all the air had been sucked out of Jisung’s lungs. His bunny teeth peeking out as his eyes wrinkled around the edges, a bright red finding home on his ears.
The two eventually made their way to the living room, putting on a new horror movie that was just released, Jisung did make sure to send a quick message to Felix letting him know all was well, to which the blonde sent a series of questions on whether they did anything “nasty”, to which Jisung took a screen shot forwarding it to Chan for him to deal with, shutting his phone off; his full attention back on the man in front of him. They didn’t exactly talk about their feelings much more but that didn’t matter, it felt like a new chapter had started for the two of them. They both knew they were each other’s even if not officially yet.
Jisung would tease Minho about the snacks he bought, seeing as all of them were favorites of the younger. Minho would then tackle him before tickling him telling him to appreciate his hyung and all he does.
When night fell, neither of them were willing to separate, letting Jisung’s bed swallow them. Both of their bodies making shape, fitting perfectly as if that is how they were always intended to be.
Before sleep could over take him, Jisung peeked his eyes open, taking in the way the moonlight graced Minho’s face, all its curves and edges.
“Min?”
“Yeah, bug?”
“Are we dating?”
There was a brief pause - Jisung had almost regretted asking until the other turned to face him better with a blush even the moonlight couldn’t hide.
“Does my bug want to date me?” Jisung let out a sound akin to a squeak causing a giggle- loud and high pitched before continuing. “I would love to date you, if you’ll have me.”
“I’ll have you in any way you will allow me to.” The answer came as easy as blinking. And it was true, maybe it was selfish, but Jisung didn't want to imagine a life with no Minho at all.
“You have all of me, Jisung.”
Jisung’s heart squeezed with warmth, eyes closing as a deep blush growing on his cheeks. When he reopened his eyes he found the older boys eyes had closed in return, lashes splaying out onto his cheekbones.
“Min?” He tried softly, earning a soft hum before gentle eyes were staring back at him.
“Yes, Sungie?”
“I missed you.” It was a near whisper, fragile and raw.
“I missed you more, Sung.” Leave it to Minho to take his feelings and hold it with all the care in the world.
Jisung’s eyes closed, heavy and filled with sleep, heart filled with contentment. He wasn’t sure if it was a dream— but he could have sworn he felt a warm press against his forehead. Plush and soft, lips that only belonged to one person, the boy with a plush upper lip and bunny teeth.
࣪ ִֶָ☾.
Over the next few weeks times were hectic, Minho had graduated, all of the boys were there to cheer him on - Jisung sobbed like a baby into the bouquet he bought while Seungmin and Hyunjin made fun of him.
Jisung was planning out his next year classes while helping Changbin and Chan with writing music on the side. Minho had also taken on teaching dance classes for younger kids with Felix and Hyunjin. But through it all the two still had somehow found time to see or talk to each other, even if it was just late night calls that one of them would fall asleep on while telling each other about their days.
Small dates were some of the moments Jisung cherished the most, even the ones that consisted of them sitting on either of their couches watching movies or shows and eating take out.
࣪ ִֶָ☾.
Summer was officially in full swing, the group of eight had all decided to take a trip to the beach. It was a lot, eight grown men living together for a week, but somehow they all filtered in just fine. Minho and Jisung had eventually told the boys about them dating, all of them showed support- if anything they were mildly confused at the fact they hadn’t already been together.
In the house Chan had rented out there were four rooms with two beds in each, he let everyone decide their grouping deciding he didn’t want to pry in between anyone’s plans, sharing a knowing glance at the two who had decided to room together before they even left the city.
Just as Jisung finished unpacking he realized the other side of the room was unknowingly quiet- or it was before the door banged open and a ball of blonde and freckles was racing straight towards him.
“Sungie!” Felix sung as he crashed into the boy.
“Lix- what are you doing-” Jisung couldn’t hold back the fit of laughter that erupted in his lungs, “We literally drove together here?”
“Details, details Sung, come on we need to get you ready!”
A puzzled look fell onto Jisung’s face, “Ready? For what exactly?” The only answer he got was a giddy glance towards Jisung’s side table where a note card folded with his name written with a heart was placed- Jisung was sure that hadn’t been there when they’d arrived so who-
“Come on, come on read it!”
Minho, of course, being the lover boy he secretly was, would obviously do something so cheesy. As he opened the letter he couldn’t fight off the fluttering his heart did when he began to read the writing, it was so carefully done- pink ink pen, Minho’s favorite.
‘My Jisungie,
I know, I know this is cheesy- I’m puking as I write this. But this last year has been so overwhelmingly heartwarming, getting to know you in all the little ways has made my heart grow bigger than I ever thought was possible. I promised you a few weeks ago that I would take you out and treat you right before I officially made you mine, and I fully intend to keep that promise. I’ve sent Yongbok to get you all dressed and pretty (plot twist, you are already my pretty Sungie) please hurry, I miss you already. Don’t leave hyung waiting. (p.s if you bring up how cringe this letter is, I will revoke your cuddling privileges.) - Min’
As Jisung fought his soul to stay in his body, a trickle of giggles was streaming from over his shoulder, when he looked back he was met with an excited ball of sunshine trying- and failing, miserably- at keeping his fit of giggles down.
“Come on! Let’s go!” Felix pulled Jisung to his bed, sitting down on his knees before starting his new project on Jisung’s face.
As time passed Jisung was unable to control his fidgeting, even as Felix begged him to stay still not wanting to mess up. But who could blame the boy? Minho was so attentive in planning a date, a date in a new city, one where they could be free to who they were without any worries of school or work. The two hadn’t kissed yet, and to say Jisung was writhing in his skin- begging to be kissed. Hell, Minho hadn’t called Jisung the name that had been circling his mind since the moment he first said it. Minho’s voice was on loop within his mind, swirling around aimlessly with the repeat of ‘jagi, jagi, jagi,’ on loop.
Felix had a look of determination on his face, tongue poking out between his lips, “Okay… Just a little bit here- and.. done!” He pulled back to take in the sight of his master piece. Jisung started wiggling under his gaze with no words coming out of the blonde, all of his confidence was dwindling away. “Sung, oh my god Jisung.”
“What, what is it? Do I look bad?” The boys mind started spiraling quickly, all his nerves coming to the surface. Felix just stood up and pulled the other to the mirror that was hanging on the wall. Jisung’s jaw practically fell to the floor, he looked pretty.
The makeup was not anything intense or crazy, but it extenuated his features just right. A soft layer of concealer laid smoothly on his skin, a soft smudged liner making his eyes look more siren rather then the typical doe eyed look they naturally took. As he inspected closer he could see the glitter that was carefully placed on his eyes, making it look like the night sky took home on his eyelids.
“Lix..” was all he could utter.
“What is it Sungie… do you like it hate it? Come on, give me somethin-” The blonde was cut off by the bone crushing hug, Jisung couldn’t form words for a solid minute just continued to squeeze the life out of Felix.
“I look so pretty, thank you Lix.”
“You have always been pretty Sung, I just helped you shine brighter. Now,” The boy clapped his hands together, “Go get dressed! Min is waiting!”
“Okay- wait, shit, what do I wear-”
“Hyung and I already picked you out an outfit, it’s in the closet!” Felix spoke as he packed up all his makeup.
Jisung was once again rendered speechless, “Lix-”
“Shush, I already know, I’m your bestest friend who no one could ever replace- come on go get your man!” Felix ushered him into the closet, giggling as he went.
“Lix, I could kiss you right now.”
At that the boy pulled away with an exaggerated disgusted face, “Ew, save that for your boyfriend.”
“He isn’t my boyfriend-” Jisung protested.
“Details Jisung, hurry up before Minho thinks you are bailing on him!” With that he closed the door, leaving Jisung with his own giddy thoughts clouding his mind. The outfit was hung up, a white button up Jisung vaguely remembered from the depths of his closet with a pair of black slacks that fit his waist perfectly, a black belt with some docs to finish it off. With every article of clothing he put on he felt more and more like he was in middle school going out with his crush, and maybe that is who he truly was. Thinking about how much has changed in the last year was almost astonishing, he went from a nervous wreck around the pretty boy with the smudged liner to going out with him. Being his.
He filled his lungs with as much air as he could before he turned the knob, opening the door to allow Felix asses him. The blonde practically threw his phone as soon as the door opened, shooting up from his laying position to see his master piece.
He twirled his finger around signaling for the other to do a spin, Jisung obliged easily, feeling nerves through every inch of his body.
“Sung- you’re hot.” Felix deadpanned.
A blush raised on Jisung’s skin, “Don't sound so surprised," a pause, he slightly fidgeted with the belt on his waist, "You think he will like it?”
“If he doesn’t love it you better end up in my room and leave him to rot.” There was no ounce of amusement in his voice leading the other to let out a raw laugh.
“Felix!” He practically doubled over as laughter raked through his body.
“I’m serious Sung-” a knock was heard from the bedroom door, “Ugh! Hyung be patient! I’m spending time with Jisungie!”
The door cracked open showing Chan’s eyes before it was forcefully pushed open the rest of the way by an impatient Hyunjin, “You guy’s have been cooped up in here for hours!” Hyunjin exclaimed dramatically.
“Jin,” Chan giggled, “We were just supposed to check on them.”
“Yeah, well hyung is practically wearing a hole in the floor downstairs. And, I’m pretty sure if Changbin or Seungmin say one more “reassuring” joke, Minho will tie them both together and push them in the pool.” Hyunjin made home on Jisung’s bed besides Felix.
“Oh shit-” Chan spoke finally taking in the sight of Jisung.
“My god-” Hyunjin got up just as quickly as he laid down, “Sung, you look hot!”
“That’s what I said!” Felix agreed. “Hyung is going to lose his mind.”
Chan clapped a hand to Jisung’s shoulder as if he was a father approving, “Speaking of, are you all set? Jokes aside, Hyun is right.”
“Yeah, yeah, I think so. Do I really look okay?”
“Yes, you really do. And I’m sure Minho-yah will absolutely die over you.” Chan reassured him and had tried to push him out the door before Felix squeaked excitedly.
“Wait!” He quickly pulled Jisung to the dresser, spritzing his signature cologne on his collarbones and then unbuttoning the first three buttons of the top allowing his tattoo to peek through. “There. Now, you’re ready.”
Chan was back to ushering the three boys out of the room, letting Jisung go down the stairs first- as they made their way down the stairs, the frustrated sighs seemingly got louder along with Changbin’s cackles as Seungmin egged him on. Jeongin was star fished across the love seat in the living room eating some cut up strawberries until he stopped mid bite when he noticed the movement by the stairs, before the other three could.
“Oh my god.” The youngest looked out right shocked at the sight.
The two joking amongst themselves had quickly shut up as they turned to see what the other was noticing, Minho following only a second behind. Minho froze, pacing paused the moment his eyes met Jisung’s. The younger could feel as his eyes raked over every inch of his body, taking in every curve and divot. It would be a lie to say that Jisung wasn’t just as locked in on Minho, he was wearing a black button up that was folded up to show off his forearms. The top buttons undone just as Felix had done to him, and he was right if the way Jisung was feeling just by looking at the older had anything to say. His pants fit him perfectly, causing Jisung to salivate at the sight. The eyeliner that took place on his eyes did not go unnoticed, neither did the red ears which only seemed to fall into a deeper shade with every second that passed.
“Okay, lovebirds! Are you going to actually go out or just stare at each other all night?” Chan spoke up from the staircase.
Seungmin was quick to argue, “Please go, I will actually throw up if you two stay here any longer.”
“What do you say hyung, are you ready?” Jisung tried speaking as leveled as he could despite the nerves raking through him.
It seemed like Minho being pushed from his day dream caused a new level of fluster to erupt in him, “Yeah- yes, let’s go, Sungie.” He held out a hand which the younger happily took, hoping his hand wasn’t clammy. They made their way to the door, trying to ignore the hushed comments and giggles from the living room.
“You look- god- you look so fucking pretty, Sungie.” He squeezed Jisung’s hand tentatively.
“You look breathtaking, hyung. Seriously. Hey, speaking of, how long have you had this planned?” Jisung questioned, as the latter found anything but his eyes interesting, “My big softie, you really do like me huh?”
Minho stopped as he pulled the front door open, “Of course, I do. I would do anything to make you feel appreciated.”
Jisung’s heart was practically beating a million miles per second, he was sure the older could feel it in his hand. They continued their way to the car, where Minho hadn’t even let go of Jisung’s hand to open the door for him. When the door opened, Jisung was met with yet another surprise. There on the passenger seat, laid a beautiful bouquet, one that definitely could not have been bought at a simple grocery store. It looked hand picked with cosmos, daisies and tulips, a few baby’s breathes just to fill it out.
“Min..” The younger breathed out.
“Do you like it?” For the first time, anxiousness was clear in Minho’s voice and oddly enough it caused a bright gummy smile to appear on the other’s face.
The younger, slightly shorter, stepped up on his tip toes to press a kiss to the older mans cheek leaving a dark blush when he pulled back, “I absolutely love them.”
The ride to the restaurant was filled with comfortable silence, Jisung idly playing with the stems of the flowers as his head bopped to some music that was playing on the radio - a shared album, the two had made a few months back - Minho has a gentle grasp on his thighs, it made him feel utterly adored as a tender thumb left sparks as it moved in calm circles, humming lowly to the songs.
During dinner had been under dimmed lights, the two hooking their ankles around each other under the table as they talked about mindless topics. When Jisung started to get into a deep, excited ramble of his picks of classes for the following year, he tended to go on and on when topics sparked his interest, especially when talking to Minho who looked so fucking fond as stars lit up his eyes. Minho indulged in the others pleas for him to talk about his dance classes and how job hunting was going — sure it was all topics the two had talked about in the weeks prior but it was so heartwarming for the two to do so again in the light of their first official date out.
When dinner came, Minho couldn’t hold back poking at one of the youngers stuffed cheeks as he ate. They shared their meals as they always did even if Minho grumbled with no real bite, pushing his plate towards Jisung taking his in return to cut his meat for him. When the waiter came around with the dessert menu Jisung shook with excitement.
“Hyung! Look at all the options!” He exclaimed with a bright gummy smile on his face.
After a few minutes of silence, Minho peeked over the menu only to find a deep pout on Jisung’s face, lower lip jutting out in a way the made the older want to run a finger over it and kiss it away.
“What’s wrong, bug?”
“There are so many flavors..” Jisung pouted deeper.
“Of?” Truthfully, Minho didn’t really dive deep into the menu, already having decided to let the younger pick.
“Cheesecake! There is chocolate, raspberry lemon, there is a strawberry one- oh my god a peanut butter cheesecake!” His big doe eyes looked up to meet his across the table, “Hyung, help.”
Minho was so gone for the man before him.
“Pick two bug, whichever sounds best and we will share hmm?” To which the pout disappeared instantly and the heart shaped smile was back, cheeks bunching up with wrinkled eyes.
Chocolate and strawberry were the deciding factors, Jisung eyes widening so big Minho feared it must hurt as they were brought to the table.
“Try them both Sung,” Minho smiled all teeth on display, “I will have whichever you don’t like.”
The younger tried both, a thoughtful face put on display before one of reluctance was replacing it, Minho already knew how this was going to go.
“Min…”
“Yeah, jagi?”
Jisung flared red, looking down at his two options trying to soothe his palpitating heart.
“I like both…” Just as the older thought..
“Then eat both, it’s okay.” Jisung’s head shot up almost alarmingly quick, mouth agape as his face filled with awe.
“Really? Are you sure? Isn’t that greedy?”
“Then be greedy, I don’t mind.”
Within minutes, both cheesecakes were gone, cheeks stuffed. A pleased hum left Jisung’s throat as his eyes closed. Once he swallowed it all down, he opened his eyes and was met with a warm smile, eyes looking so soft.
“What are you looking at?” Jisung questioned, rubbing the back of his neck as he felt heat rush to his face.
“You. You’re so pretty, Jisungie.”
“Ah, you have Lix to thank for that- I almost thought he would never let me leave that room.”
Minho shook his head, smile never leaving. “Mm, no. Jisung, you are so utterly pretty without even trying. Makeup or not.”
Jisung hid his face in his hands, feeling so flushed at being stared at so intently. He heard some shuffling across the table still not willing to peak, before small hands wrapped around his wrists pulling his hands away. When he looked up, Minho’s face was glowing from the warm lights around the restaurant.
“Let’s go, Sung-ah. I have something else planned.”
Jisung scrambled to his feet as their fingers intertwine, sparks traveling through his veins as the other emits his warmth onto his cold fingers.
“Wait- Hyung, don’t we have to pay?” Jisung uttered as he looked back at the table.
“I put my card down before we arrived.” He spoke so casually it made the younger mans jaw drop, when he looked back to see he couldn’t stifle the laugh that lunged out. “Why do you look so shocked?”
“I- We-” Jisung stuttered before clearing his throat, “Aren’t we- Fuck, how much was it? Do you want me to send you half? Plus the cheesecakes because you didn’t even touch them.”
Minho stopped dead in his tracks, just shy of the hostess stand, “Why would you pay?”
“I- Well, because this is a really nice restaurant..?” It sounded more like a question as it left his mouth.
“I asked you on a date, bug. I would never have you pay for that.”
It was such a simple thing, but it made Jisung flush nonetheless. He couldn’t even be bothered to argue as the man pulled him to the hostess stand, he was still in a haze that he didn’t notice a young girl handing Minho a bag with a knowing look and pleased smile at the two.
When the two walked out, the streets were scattered with fairy lights on all of the trees, even from here you could feel the ocean breeze making it’s way through them causing Jisung to break out of his trance with a shiver. Minho gathered him into his arms rubbing his warm hands along his back.
“Too cold for a walk by the water?” Minho looked down at the younger as a smile tugged at the side of his mouth, as Jisung looked up at him with galaxies in his eyes, as if he held all the stars in the night sky in them.
“Warm me up if I get too cold?” Jisung breathed, sounding just as gone as Minho felt.
“Of course bug, I would do anything for you.” Jisung would really have to reevaluate if his heart was still functioning properly after tonight. As he pulled away, it seemed like the older was reminded of the bag taking over his hand. “Ah, but first we will have to put this in the car.”
It was just then that Jisung had taken notice of the bag, trying to peer inside the opaque bag, “What is it?”
“Hmm? This old thing? Nothing..” Minho trailed off in a teasing tone as an equally as teasing smirk met his lips.
“Hyunggg, I thought we didn’t lie to each other?” He pouted- maybe overly so, for effect.
“You’re so silly, don’t sulk you big baby, here.” Minho handed over the bag and as Jisung was just about to open it he paused, glaring at the older man.
“What is it, Sung?” Worry filtered through Minho’s blood almost wondering if he did something wrong.
“You’re big baby,” He spoke, pointing a finger at Minho before bringing it back to his own chest, “I’m little baby. Get it right.” His tone was so serious, even through the feigned offense, but even he couldn’t bite back the smile trying to work its way out causing a loud laugh to come out of Minho.
With a flick to Jisung's head, “Open the bag, dummy.”
Jisung quickly obliged while grumbling, “You’re so mean hyung, I have been nothing but nice and you go and call me a dumm- OH MY GOD,” he quickly lunges himself into the others arms as his eyes fixate on the clear container fit into the bag filled with chocolate cheesecake, “Thank you, thank you, thank you hyung. Oh my god, it was so good! How did you know that I wanted another slice for later? I was even going to grab one on the way out but I felt horrible asking after finding out that you paid for the whole dinner-” He clamped his mouth shut when he made eye contact with the older once again having that look in his eyes — so fucking fond.
He couldn’t help the way his body shook with excitement when he stared back down at the bag, “Thank you, Min. Tonight has been so amazing- you, you are so amazing.”
A deep flush met Minho’s ears as he sniffled- flustered. “You’re just as amazing Sung. Let’s go?” A hand was held out for the younger to grab to which he quickly took, making sure to not move the cheesecake around too much.
As the two walked to the car, Jisung filled the silence with random fact, talking about how he wanted a gecko more than he wanted to graduate. Minho couldn’t help but watch him, taking in his every feature, the glitter that graced his eyes. His heart stuttered as he realized just how deep he had fallen for Jisung but there was no ounce of regret in his body.
They put the cheesecake in the car and before they could leave Minho remembered to grab a jacket from the backseat he remembered to grab, he did intend on warming Jisung in his arms but he was fully dived into the boyfriend image he wanted to give.
Walking down towards the empty beach, moonlight lighting up the ocean beautifully. Even with their lack of swimming knowledge the two both knew how to appreciate a scenic view. After a bit of walking hand in hand, comfortable silence bubbling around them, Minho pulled them both up a rock he had previously scoped out for tonight. He stopped them, staring out into the ocean, racking his mind for confidence on what he wanted to share with the younger.
A chilled hand cupped his cheek, thumb pushing gently on his bottom lip that he hadn’t noticed he was worrying at, he released it as he glanced at Jisung looking at him with worried eyes.
“Hyung?”
“Hi, Jisungie.” he whispered.
“Hi,” the other shyly whispered back, there was no real reason for whispering seeing as it was just the two of them but it only made the moment more immersed, more precious, “Where did you go just now?”
Minho’s eyes dropped to where the younger was softly leaving shapes on his arm, heart clenching at the thought of causing too many thoughts for the other.
“Ah, hyung’s got you worried?” Minho questioned, gaining a small nod in return.
He turned fully towards Jisung, taking in how beautiful the other looked, all of his features extenuated just right- although Minho knows he would say the same thing even without the makeup. He placed the jacket he previously grabbed around the youngers shoulders before cupping both of his cheeks in his hands, “Can I tell you something?” His voice was ever so fond, and had any of the other boys heard he was sure they would poke fun at him.
Jisung stared back at him, boba eyes wide as his pupils dilated, zoning in on Minho completely, “Of course, anything.” He pushed his cheek farther into the others hands before turning slightly pressing soft pinky promise kisses to his palms.
“Jisung, my Jisungie,” Minho started, raking his thumbs along the others cheekbones, “You have completely enamored me, my sweet bug- you had said once that you didn’t think you deserved to be seen with me but really.. you have no idea just how amazing you are. You light up anyone’s life when you walk into it, including mine. I am forever grateful for meeting you and I promise to cherish you for as long as you’ll have me.”
“Forever?” Jisung whispered, heart fluttering within its caverns.
“Forever and longer,” Minho whispered back, promising. He pulled close, close enough that Jisung thought he would kiss him — which technically he did, a warm kiss was pressed into his forehead leaving fireworks in its wake.
“Min..” Jisung wasn’t even sure what he was calling out for, maybe just for a promise to stay forever.
“Jisung, will you be my boyfriend and allow me to be yours?” Minho’s heart exploded, anxiety and hope filling his chest.
“Yes, yes. I would love that- I’ve already been yours since we got put together a year ago.” Jisung held onto Minho’s wrists. Both mirrored each other with smiles so bright you would have thought the sun was out.
“Minho,” Jisung spoke out eagerly, impatience flooding his veins at the same time Minho whispered, “Jisung.”
“You first.” They both said in unison. causing giggles to break free.
“Hyung first,” Jisung pushed, deciding to rid himself of impatience.
“Can I kiss you?”
All at once, Jisung felt everything freeze. As if the world knew he would want to picture this moment forever. While simultaneously feeling like there were fireworks ricocheting inside of him, all of his wants and needs being answered before he even had to work for it. Happiness filled his bones as he looked up, eyes gleaming.
“Yes. Yes. Please.” He pleaded, pulling at Minho’s wrists. His impatience resurfaced but before he could beg for more — embarrass himself further, Minho’s soft lips met his. Lip’s locking perfectly, slotting as if they were made to fit together.
The first kiss was chaste, soft and gentle- almost as if they were testing the waters. Minho pulled back looking into the other dark pools of eyes, looking for permission to continue not wanting to pressure any actions, Jisung gave an eager, reassuring nod before pulling him back in. The kiss started just as soft but there was more behind it now, like a light had sparked a fire between the two of them. It was never overbearing, or fired by desire. It was overwhelming, yes, but beautifully so. It was overwhelming with the want that was built between them over the last few weeks. The way their lips moved was filled with desire — not to be mistaken by lust.
Minho’s hands danced down his shoulders, along his back — softly tracing his nails down his back leaving goosebumps in its wake before settling on his hips pulling him in closer. Jisung moved his hands around his neck, fingers dancing into the hair that curled along the nape of his neck, fist bumping himself inwardly when it was met with a hum of contentment. The kiss stayed innocent for a few more beats until Jisung let out a needy whine with a tug in the roots of the others hair. And maybe, under any other circumstances or had it been anyone else he was sharing his first kiss with, he may have been embarrassed for how the need was eating at his veins. But, it wasn’t just any one else. It was Minho. Sweet, kind, and ever the caring one, Minho. His boyfriend.
With every whine and plea of “hyung,” or “Min,” breathed along his lips, a spark of pride was lit with Minho’s chest. The older mans soft tongue licked across his bottom lip gently, not prying or pushing. Just ever so gently asking for entrance, to which the younger graciously accepted. Jisung was an inexperienced mess, pulling him closer as if he was scared the other would float right out of his hands, but it seemed as though Minho had no problems with leading him though the kiss. He didn’t even retreat when — much to Jisung’s embarrassment — Jisung, accidentally nipped too harshly at his tongue.
The kissed continued for a few more beats, it seemed as though Minho could read Jisung like an open book because he pulled back just as Jisung started to feel the heat writhing under his skin. Foreheads pressed together, breaths mingling together, small hands dancing under the jacket on Jisung’s shoulders, tracing small circles on his lower back.
Jisung had his eyes closed trying to regulate his breathing, his heart doing ‘pitter patter’ within his chest aggressively. He felt his pulse slowly reducing as he took deep breaths within his lungs.
“You okay?” Minho’s voice was soft despite the rasps that came out.
“Mhm,” Jisung confirmed, eyes still closed. “It was a lot.”
He almost regretted his choice of words when he felt the older tense in front of him, “Was it too much?” A shy whisper reached his ears, his eyes opened to see an anxious Minho looking into his eyes. Searching for any ounce of regret.
“No, baby. It was perfect, but I’ve never been kissed — let alone like that. But I loved it, I loved it so much.” He tightened his grip around his neck just for measure as he saw the mans pretty bunny teeth poke out, blush taking over his cheeks and ears.
“Baby?” Minho asked with a curious tilt.
Jisung flushed, hiding his face in the others neck, muttering out apologies. Minho only wrapped one arm around his body, bringing the other one to hold Jisung’s head to his neck, cherishing the boy in his arms.
“Don’t apologize sweet boy, I liked it.” Minho reassured peppering loving kisses into Jisung’s temple and crown of his head.
It was as if their two souls intertwined completely in that moment, holding each other so close. Chest’s pressing together, their hearts beating against the others. Minho waited a moment before speaking, allowing them both to bask in the afterglow of their first kiss- Jisung’s first kiss. He waited for the younger to calm, running a soothing hand up and down his back as his body stopped shaking, breathing settling to something calmer.
He waited patiently until the younger pulled back, happiness seeping through his eyes, his signature gummy smile taking it’s rightful home. Minho took the opportunity to pepper soft pink promise kisses along every inch of his face until Jisung was a wiggling mess, filtering giggles out of him.
With a final kiss pressed to the tip of his nose, the youngers body wracked with a shiver causing Minho’s hands to run along his arms instinctively.
“Ready to go home,” He paused, mainly for effect before tacking on, “boyfriend?” Just because he could, and he reveled in the flush that sprinkled along the others soft cheeks, climbing down his neck and reaching down past his chest.
“I’m ready, hyun-” Jisung stopped himself, finding every ounce of confidence in his body, “I’m ready, boyfriend.” Immediately pleased with his decision as the other turned beet red, fiddling with his ear attempting to soothe the heat.
Jisung attempted to shrug off the jacket before being met with a scold from the older who reached out, practically shoving Jisung’s arms into the sweater holes mumbling something incoherent but from what could be deciphered it sounded something along the lines of ‘my jisungie’, ‘gonna get sick’, ‘don’t be a dummy.’ Jisung barked out a laugh at his antics but allowed himself to be pulled into the jacket before a small hand was tugging at his, pulling them both back to the car. They continued to make jokes about nothing, talking about what lied in the deepest parts of the ocean, making a promise to attempt to try and swim together — neither of them were happy about that. The walk took longer due to one of them stopping every few minutes to steal quick, chaste kisses, just because they could. Minho had slung an arms around Jisung’s shoulder to which the latter did not hesitate to burrow in closer.
When they made it to the car, it wasn’t a surprise that Minho opened the door for the other, making sure to turn the car on from across the console, instantly turning the seat warmer on before allowing Jisung to get in. When he was seated, Minho pressed a soft kiss to his lips to which he tried to deepen but before he got the chance to Minho was buckling him in and pulling away with a knowing smirk.
Jisung had just gotten his first kiss and he was already utterly obsessed.
Ruined for anyone else, although there was no one else who could ever replace what Minho has made him feel.
Jisung was so fucking gone for Minho.
He brought his fingers up to his tingling lips as the other rounded the car to get inside, he felt so giddy in his own skin - body erupting with glee. He had never felt so pleased, could never begin to imagine his first kiss being so perfect. He wouldn’t ever admit it but honestly his first kiss was something he thought about frequently - he had heard his friends own horror stories about their first kisses, how people had tried to shove their tongues down the others throats. Jisung would always listen mortified, swearing to himself his first kiss would be perfect. - Eventually her had given up on the thought, deeming it impossible to have something so perfect, but then Minho walked into his life and it was as if ‘perfect’ was his middle name. Hell, it might as well be his first, last, and middle name. ‘Perfectly, perfect, perfection.’
He hadn’t even realized that the car had pulled away and started its trip back home until a now warm hand was placed on his thigh, squeezing just enough to gain attention. His head shot to his left where Minho was glancing at him periodically, keeping his main focus on the road.
“Are you okay, jagi?” Jagi, jagi, jagi, Jisung’s mind looped like a life line.
“Yeah, I’m perfect baby.” Baby, baby, baby, Minho’s mind chanted like a prayer.
“Promise?” Minho pulled the hand from his thigh, holding out a pinky.
Jisung quickly looped his pinky around the others, “Pinky promise.” The two locked their thumbs, both of their faces met with dopey looking smiles.
Jisung was so intensely gone for Minho.
Minho was so utterly enamored by Jisung.
As the engine roared on, silence filling the car other than the soft music playing the only thing Jisung felt was pure bliss, their pinkies still tangled together.
Felix was going to have a heart attack when Jisung told him.
࣪ ִֶָ☾.
The two walked hand in hand towards the front door after the older ran across the front of the car, on a mission to open Jisung’s door. Jisung was practically vibrating out of his skin, playing with Minho’s fingers just because he could. When they walked into the front hallway they slipped off their shoes, the action taking much longer due to the fact that the two would stop every five seconds slipping soft quick kisses or just simply smiling fondly at each other. Their fingers returned to each other as they walked quietly to their shared room, soft giggles following suit when one of them would stumble over each other.
“Silly Han-ah, keep your hands on me so you don’t fall with your bambi legs.” Minho spoke softly not to disturb the quiet halls, reaching to place Jisung’s hands on his torso with a soft pat before continuing the walk down.
Just before they reached their room Jisung stopped abruptly- “Sungie? Is something wrong?”
A goofy heart shaped smile played on the youngers lips, he looked at the door in front of him- Felix’s room. “I just have to do something, baby. Give me one minute, yeah? Go get comfy. I’ll be right there.” A blush reached the others ears before he gave an affirming nod, leaving a quick passing kiss on Jisung’s forehead.
At the others leave, Jisung quietly entered Felix’s and what was supposed to be Changbin’s shared room only to find Hyunjin instead. He padded his way to the ball of blonde he could find in the moonlit room.
“Lixieeee,” He whispered sing-songed, “Are you awake?” Holding back a laugh at the disturbed face the other made before he peeked an eye open.
“Sung? What are-?” He started before shooting up with a glare, “Do I have to fight him? Are you coming in here to hide away?” Felix placed both of his hands on either side of Jisung’s face squeezing slightly.
“Felix,” although it sounded more like ‘Feewix’ with his cheeks being so bunched together, “Why is Hyunjin in here?” The other instantly flushed, looking caught.
“We are talking about you Han Jisung, so spill!” The blonde diverted while dropping his hands.
“Yah! I was just asking, any ways- I wanted to tell you first, we kissed!” Jisung exclaimed dramatically, almost forgetting about the other sleeping member in the room.
The younger barrelled Jisung into a hug on the floor, squeezing almost alarmingly tight.
“Oh my god- Sungie! You’re growing up!” The other cooed.
“Ah Lix, you’re acting like I am a child!” Jisung whined.
“Because you are like my child, you’re blossoming and I am just so happy!” Felix pulled back looking at Jisung, “And I do love you, however we may wake the whole house if we are any louder- hey don’t you have a boyfriend to attend to?”
“How did you know-” Jisung flushed, he never explicitly said they were official now.
The other looked at Jisung as if he had grown three heads, “Are you telling me you came in here just to tell me you two kissed?” Felix whisper shouted.
“No! No- We- We are boyfriends… Minho is my boyfriend…” He couldn’t help the heat growing on him or the beating filling his ears.
“I’m so glad my Sungie, you are finally getting what you deserve.” He gave another quick hug before stuffing himself back in bed, “Now, with love, go to bed with your man.”
“Yeah, yeah, I’m going. We will be talking about this-” He paused, pointing the the loaf of Hyunjin, “Tomorrow.”
“Sure we will Sung, godnight!”
“Night night Lixie!” And with that he quietly exited the room to waddle his way to his and his boyfriend’s shared room.
Upon entering Jisung felt like his heart was pounding through his chest, the sight before him was so thoroughly endearing he couldn’t help the gummy smile that grew wide on his face. Minho was balled up on his bed, over the covers; a tactic Jisung had noticed the older do when he was trying not to fall asleep. Clearly, it didn’t work this time around. He was dressed in one of Jisung’s oversized shirts with his own baggy sweats. His hair looked damp and freshly washed as it curled around the nape of his neck and bangs draped their way over his forehead. Lashes splayed across his cheeks, mouth slightly parted as soft breaths made their way out.
Jisung made quick yet quiet work of gathering his clothing items going to the restroom to take a quick shower and get comfortable. He took off his contacts, opting for leaving his glasses off as well. When he made his way back into the room, fiddling with his fingers as he debated curling around Minho’s body or simply going to his own bed. After overthinking for far too long, he went with the latter with a sigh. He pulled Minho’s covers over him before pulling back his own and cuddling under them. As he faced the wall his body yearned to be close to the others warmth, but truly he didn’t want to disrupt the older sleeping peacefully.
Just before sleep started to win over his mind, he heard shuffling of blankets followed by the soft padding of socked feet before small hands pulled back his own comforter. A warmth filled his bed, chest pressing directly against his back.
“Mean Hannie… leaving your boyfriend to sleep alone…” Minho’s gruff sleepy voice made a soft gasp leave Jisung’s lips, he quickly shuffled around turning to face the other.
“Hi,” Jisung whispered far too in awe by the sleepy bunny boy in front of him.
“Hi, jagi.” Minho whispered back, dark eyes pooling with stars as the moon lit them. A soft pout met his lips, a finger placed on Jisung’s forehead, “Meanie.”
Jisung cooed, pressing a hand to his cheek, “My poor hyungie, I’m sorry. I didn’t want to wake you, I wasn’t too loud was I?”
The older leaned into the touch, closing his eyes in bliss. “Mm-mm, couldn’t sleep without you.”
Pride filled Jisung’s chest, “My sweet boy,” If he was asked, he doesn’t exactly know where the pet names were coming from but they came so naturally he couldn’t question them. “Let’s rest now then, hmm? We have a day of exploring ahead of us.”
The older pulled Jisung close, making a home for him within his arms as if that was exactly where he was meant to be, tilting his head up Jisung looked at the adoration filling Minho’s eyes.
“Need something, jagi?” He whispered delicately as to not disturb the carefully crafted silence that bubbled them.
Jisung was so far gone, sleep fighting its way into his blood stream, “Kiss,” he slurred out sleepily.
“Anything, jagi, anything you’d like.” With that he cupped the youngers jaw and pulled him close, disintegrating any distance between them. The kiss was loving and gracious even if it was lulled by sleep. Minho lead the kiss, keeping it calm, even if the other tried to grasp on for more. Before Jisung could get pulled by the tilde wave, Minho kept a hold on him like a buoy in the waves.
When he pulled back he was met with Jisung’s kiss swollen lips, eyes glazed with sleep.
“Let’s sleep now, my love.” A volcano erupted within Jisung’s chest, he could only answer with a meek nod. Burrowing his face into the others chest, Minho cradled his chest gently raking his fingers through the youngers damp hair; it smelt of milk and honey, clean and soft, pinky promise kisses laid across the crown of his head.
“Goodnight, Min baby.” Jisung breathed just before the wave of sleep could take him under.
“Goodnight, sleep well jagi.” Minho replied as if it was easy as breathing.
Jisung clenched his fists into Minho’s shirt at his chest, an anxious thought drifted into his mind before he could help it. “Hyung?”
“Yes, bug?”
In some ways, it felt reminiscent of a few weeks ago, when this had all started. A soft ball of love rolled in both of their chests, like a lifeline they both shared without knowledge.
“You won’t leave.. you won’t leave me, right?” Jisung whispered in an anxious breath.
Minho pulled Jisung closer, if that was even possible. Breaking any barriers between them, it was almost as if he wanted to burrow into the others skin, and maybe he did. Would that really be so bad?
“No, jagi. Sungie, no.” Minho felt as i all the breath had evaporated from his lungs. Something about how open- how vulnerable the boy sounded made his heart clench like strings had been tugged tight.
“Never. I’m not going anywhere. I promise.” He pressed one more longer kiss to his head, not caring about the response he never got. Minho continued to rake his hair; rubbing soothing shapes on his back just as Jisung would do for himself when he was alone. Except he wasn’t alone, not now. Not anymore. Minho would make sure of that. He would protect the boy with the stained glass heart with everything in him. He kept at it, losing track of time, whispering sweet nothings even if the other wasn’t coherent to hear them. He continued these motions until all he heard was the soft rustles of wind outside along side Jisung’s evened out breathing. The subtle snores leaving the youngers mouth brought him peace in some unknown way. Only then did he dare allow sleep to take his own body over.
