Chapter Text
Odessa:
my wife left, she didn’t say why or where she was going, just left . She left me a letter, neither of us knew whether I would read it or not. The cover just has my name on it.
My wife was not entirely cold, but she wasn’t warm either. I wanted to cry, I wanted to scream but I just sat there, holding the letter with her perfect handwriting, mocking me.
Ramona and I had an arranged marriage. None of us wanted it but I slowly learned to love the little things about her, like; how she rubs her eyes like a little child when she’s tired, how she never let me open my car door, how she switched into my red bottoms stilettos and gave me her plush slides when she noticed me “walking wrong.”
How couldn’t I fall in love? She’s stubborn and hardheaded and so endearing at the same time, I wasn’t sure if she felt the same that’s why I never brought it up.
As I sat there, the thought of her consumed my mind and a tear streaked down my face without my consent. I quickly wiped it away, and before my consciousness had time to catch up, I opened it.
At the top, printed in bold slanted letters was a handwriting I never thought I’d see for the last time, and I read.
Dear Odessa,
I’m sorry to tell you in such an improper manner, but I must leave, I can’t tell you where I’m going ow when I’m coming back, but I owe you a reason.
My father, Jedediah Blackwell, has been at his “old habits” again and I’m sick of him and what he does. I made my ways to the proper authorities and need to go MIA for a while so I’m going to tell you things I wasn’t strong enough to tell you in person:
- I’m obsessed with how you always look every morning after you wake up—
Though I’m always stone faced, in my mind I always wonder how I ended up with a wife as beautifully humbling as you. Those extended looks when my eyes linger too long, it’s not your imagination, I simply am lost and bewildered by your beauty.
- When I fell for you—
Two weeks after the wedding, my father rang us and no matter how well I hid it from myself, you saw through the mask, you slipped the phone from my hand, put it on loud speaker and said;
“Mr Blackwell sir, whatever you said to my wife is IRRITATING the both of us, she has enough problems as it is and does not need you to add on. If you call either of us for the next week with no proper reason, I will bite you.”
The whole time I looked at you, you were so visibly annoyed it made me smile. You didn’t have to do it, but you did. Later when I brought it up you boldly announced
“that man causes you unreasonable amount of stress for things that he can do himself. It just so happens that you’re my wife and anything that causes you stress, I urge to annihilate it.”
The pure amount of tenderness and wrath you so effortlessly carry added to the long list of things I already loved about you.
Odessa:
By this time I had pressed my hand to my mouth, an old habit from when I was younger to cry silently. I had no idea Ramona felt this way, she was always so composed. I mean, I did catch her staring at me once or twice, but that was before I could read her expressions, which now looking back, I wonder how I could’ve missed.
- When you taught me how to make a PROPER coffee-
You always said my coffee tasted burned and raw in the same sip. When you had enough you chuckled at me and said.
“Move aside, let ME teach you how to make a real coffee.”
I admit I was quite insulted by it but I found it to be one of the ways you showcase your love. Step by step you showed me how to blend and stir it. And you were incredibly patient when I burned it the first time. What really got to me was when you tasted my second batch, your face lit up like Christmas and you kissed me on the cheek with foam on your mouth. Your gentle kisses are a habit I loved from the very beginning. Anywhere but my lips, because you wanted to give me a choice while saying you love me.
- How you’d always write me little notes on the mirror with the fog when I was showering.
The first time I saw this, I was quite bewildered and it wasn’t particularly sweet either. It said
“Ramona hurry up or I’m going to cut off the water supply.”
I laughed so hard I almost fell, because I knew you were completely serious. I may be a The president of a multimillion dollar company but nobody has ever spoken or speaks to me the way you do. They all tell me what they think I want to hear, you tell me what needs to be done.
Odessa:
My entire body was trembling. The letter was streaked with tear drops on the bottom. They didn’t smudge. Ramona knew I would cry if I did so she used the pen that dosent smudge. My idiot, sweet wife. Where could she be?!
5. Lastly, I’m madly in love with you.
I love you so much it scares me, my heart aches each time your beautiful smile enchants me. What you said finally caught up with me.
“And I know your greatest fear, letting someone in too near, but open up your heart to me.”
Odessa, your my first, love and universe.너의 미소가 is something I wish to see one last time. It shatters my heart to leave. But I must. Goodbye My wife, my love and the queen of my heart.
Odessa:
this woman, who has powerful men pissing they’re pants in a boardroom, remembered my favourite song and Group.
RAMONA YOU ABSOLUTE IDIOT HOW COULD YOU?!
You leave me with a love confession?! I will chase you to the ends of the earth if I must. Yk what? I’m coming to find you.
