Pancakes for breakfast

Summary:

TeeTee always knew the chances of Por actually cooking for him were nothing but close to zero.
In interviews, Por always promised that eventually they would find the time.

TeeTee had never minded, even if he pretended to sulk to gain some plus points from the fans and the MC.

And then eventually finally happened.

Another short fic for the Fluffy July challenge on Tumblr!
Prompt #10: "Eating pancakes together - I adore your hands"

Work Text:

Everyone knew that Por could cook. His first university major before he had changed it was not a secret or anything.
Por knew his way around the kitchen, around the different cooking utensils and knew his spices.

But it wasn’t like… he actively cooked. And it definitely wasn’t like Por made an effort to cook for people.
In fact, Tee had stated in many interviews, with a big fat pout on his lips, that Por had never cooked for him in all this time.

Por pointed out that he hadn’t cooked for anyone except his mother. The hosts had nodded in assentation, but it had done nothing to coax Tee in the slightest. He had made a show of sulking during these interviews, but - Tee was one weak man, okay? -  every time Por had won him over again with a promise that he would for sure find a time to cook for him.

Eventually.

Which they both knew could mean never. Not because his partner was someone to break promises. In fact, Por never went back on his word. But because they were busy. They shared countless meals, but they always opted for delivery – delicious, fast and uncomplicated. Most times they simply told P’Bird in advance what they wanted, and it was already waiting for them after a long day of schedules and rehearsals.

Sometimes they barely had any time to get anything into their system, as they finished one schedule and rushed to the next. And then they end up in their practice rooms, well past midnight on many occasions.

(Tee did make sure that he somehow got his hands on snacks for them at least.)

So while Tee really, really wanted to earn the privilege of getting a meal cooked by Por Suppakarn Jirachotikul, he also didn’t have any expectations for it.

Besides, he also knew that the thing that Por actually enjoyed about all of this was eating. Not the cooking. Though Tee also had to admit that whenever a show had placed them in a kitchen and Por had rolled up his sleeves to get started on the preparations…

Well…

It was safe to say that this did something to Tee.

Something that caused his whole body to grow just a little warmer and made him swallow thickly.

So maybe…

Maybe Tee should stop lying to himself about all this. No pretences needed. He wanted Por to cook for him and he wanted to watch him do it too. Though it might turn out to be quite the ordeal to simply watch and… keep his hands to himself.

But it would be a small price to pay in the great scheme of things.

Especially because Tee knew the chances of that ever happening were slim at best. Close to zero, actually.

He had better chances replaying it in his mind and creating his own fantasy.

Or so he thought. Because on this particular day, Tee woke up to… sweetness. And no, it was not because he had rolled over in his sleep and buried his nose at Por’s neck.

No. The air carried a fragrance of sweet aroma. Of honey and… melted butter?

Tee blinked his eyes open, his usual morning grogginess evaporating in only a few heartbeats. He inhaled sharply – and yes, it had not been the remnants of a dream. The smell was still there, rich and unmistakenly.

“Pip?” Tee let out, stretching his hands in an attempt to find his boyfriend. Nothing. The bed was empty. Tee let out an unhappy noise at that. Perhaps Por had already gotten up from the smell and was already eating. Tee couldn’t help but grin at the thought and so he pushed himself out of their blanket nest and stumbled to the door.

Por’s bedroom was on the ground floor like the kitchen, which was probably why they had been able to smell anything at all in the first place. Scratching his belly, he pulled his tank top back in place and closed the door behind him, following the scent of something mouth-wateringly delicious.

“Food, food~” he hummed as he rounded the corner, already expecting to see Por sitting at the kitchen aisle, enjoying whatever his mother had whipped up.
Wait.

Por’s mum was actually not home. They had been alone when they had tumbled into bed, with even Por’s sister out for the weekend.

So that meant—

Tee halted in his tracks when he entered the open kitchen area, his eyes immediately settling on his boyfriend who was currently pouring something – dough? – into a pan.

He was wearing a light blue apron.

An apron.

Tee’s brain did a sharp bzzzzzzzzzzt as it stopped all functions for a second. Or a minute? Could have also been an hour because Tee literally stopped working as if encountering a glitch.

“Stop staring,” came Por’s voice suddenly, and pulled Tee out of his deactivated state, “come here if you want some.”

Oh.

Oh.

Por was being shy. That tone of voice – Tee knew it very well. It usually came paired with red ears and a coy gaze.

Was he still dreaming? Was this his subconscious giving him what he usually daydreamed about?

“Tee?”

“Coming!”

He skipped over, and immediately wrapped his arms around his boyfriend’s waist, resting his chin on the other’s shoulder.

If this was a dream, he had hit the jackpot. He grinned, broad and happy.

“Down, puppy,” Por said and rolled his eyes, but his lips were pulled into an endeared smile.

“Can’t,” Tee replied immediately, “I see pancakes. My boyfriend who has never cooked for me—”

“Or anyone!” Por interjected with a grunt.

“For me,” Tee insisted and nuzzled his lover’s neck, “is making pancakes for breakfast. For me. Pancakes. And he is wearing this apron which kind of makes me want to eat him right up wha—”

Por had turned around with the grace and fluidity of a feline predator, his gaze stern and the ladle he used to scoop up dough dangerously close to Tee’s face.
For a moment, they both just stared at each other. Tee’s eyes were flicking between his boyfriend’s face, and the liquid dough that was slowly running down the stick of the ladle. A moment longer and the dough would get all over Por’s hand.

His pretty fingers.

Perhaps Tee could lick—

“I can practically hear your thoughts, you know? You’re not very subtle, TeeTee.”

Tee let out a sheepish laugh at that and pulled his gaze back to the other’s face. There was an exasperated, but amused, look on Por’s face.

He grinned.

“I just love your hands,” he offered and Por rolled his eyes at that.

“I know. Tell me something new next time.”

“Uhm… I really like it when you—”

Por’s free hand came up to grab the collar of his tank top, pulling him down and closer. Their mouths were only a breath apart – and for a split second, Tee was convinced his boyfriend would kiss him.

Except he didn’t.

Por just kept him there at this agonizing position, with only a single inch separating them. It was torture.

“Calm down, puppy,” Por whispered into the small space between them, “don’t start to dirty-talk me now. I’m making you breakfast. Or do you want it to go to waste?”

“Piiip—”

This was absolutely unfair. Because Tee was greedy and wished he could have both. At the same time. So, he settled for the next best thing.

He used his best puppy eyes as he looked at his boyfriend.
“Please make me porcakes?”
He even added his pout again for some extra points.

Por just snorted at the word play and Tee felt a wave of warmth wash over him at the sight of the other’s amused smile.
“Sure,” Por said and turned around again, “I was doing exactly that until a very eager puppy had to interrupt me.”

Tee’s grin just grew wider, and he leaned in to kiss Por’s cheek before he let go of him.

“I’m being good now!” he promised and sat down at the kitchen aisle where the other had already placed two mugs of chocolate milk.

Good gods above, could his Pip get any more perfect?

Just as he was contemplating what kind of heroic deed he must have performed in his past life to make someone like Por Suppakarn Jirachotikul fall for him, a large plate was placed in front of him.

The pancakes were neatly placed on top of each other, fluffy and smelling of cinnamon and sugar.
There was a drizzle of honey too, and Tee just couldn’t help but inhale the aroma.

“I need my phone,” he suddenly let out and Por, who had just placed down his own plate, crossed his arms at that.
“What for? We have no schedule today.”

Tee snickered and placed a loving kiss on Por’s cheek.
“Give me yours. It doesn’t matter. I need to catch this moment on camera! I’m getting food made by you. It’s an important memory to keep.”

And there it was again. That blush that coloured Por’s neck and cheeks in an adorable pink hue.

Por turned away a little, but Tee could see that he was reaching for his phone that had been placed on top of the kitchen aisle at some point.

“Only you can go from sexy talk to sweet talk in less than two minutes…” he muttered, his hand playing with the hair in his nape.

“So cute~ kitchen angel~”

Tee couldn’t stop smiling. Couldn’t stop looking at Por who had the shy, happy smile on his face that had stolen Tee’s heart so long ago.

“Shut up and eat, okay?”

The phone was placed into his hand. The face recognition let Tee open the lock screen.

“Roger that!”

The shutter clicked. The moment was saved in the camera roll just like in Tee’s heart.

Sometimes dreams do come true it seems.

Notes:

While I was writing this, I was thinking of a photo send by Mina showing off her delicious desserts in Thailand...
So yeah, that is one of the reasons this on is dedicated to her!
And well, I also think she can use a reason to smile!

Special thanks go to L, as without her editing/beta'ing this wouldn't come to life.
