Through the tattered old curtains hung up over the windows next to your bed, a gap in the fabric allowed a beam of the morning sun to shine through your window and straight onto your face.
Your eyes quickly blinking and then squinting from the sun, you attempted to sit up only to be interrupted by a pair of arms wrapped around your midsection weakly trying (and failing) to keep you on the bed and a small mumble that sounded something like "Don't go..."
You craned your head down to find a patch of unruly red hair attached to a big head that was burrowed into your chest and a little body that squeezed around you as if it was trying to stay as close as possible to you, you started smiling a little as you realized it was Jervis, still asleep and dreaming. You leaned down and gave his head a little kiss, which caused him to let out a faint giggle in his sleep before you leaned over him to reach your curtains, moving them closer together to make sure they didn't bother you again.
Laying back in the spot you were before you pulled Jervis's head out of your chest (which elicited a small grumble from him that you found absolutely adorable) and caressed his right cheek in your palm, studying his face.
He looked serene, like he had finally found peace in the world, his face relaxed and undeterred by worry as he started leaning into your palm. You pulled him a little closer to you, and leaned into his neck.
He smelled like old books, smoke and freshly brewed tea, just as he always did. You sighed as you closed your eyes, hoping to get a little more sleep in.
Your hopes were dashed however as Jervis started waking up, yawning a little and unwrapping his one of his arms from your waist to rest his hand on the one that was still on his cheek, pulling back from you to look at your face.
You both stared at each other for a moment, a comfortable silence in the air.
He suddenly spoke up in a groggy voice "Good morning, dearest..." with a small appreciative smile, like seeing your face was the just the thing he wanted to wake up to.
"Morning, Jervis" You replied, brushing his hair back before kissing his forehead which make him sigh dreamily "How did you sleep? any note worthy dreams to report?"
"I slept like the dormmouse after telling a story my dear!" he held the back of your hand up to his lips to kiss "And no, just the usual cats and rabbits last night" he leaned forward and burrowed himself into your neck, much like you had done before "How about you? did dreamland carry you off to any fantastical adventures last night?"
"Nuh-uh" you leaned your head to the side to give him room as he started placing soft little kisses all across your neck, making you blush "I never get any dreams when I sleep..." you huffed out of annoyance with yourself, which Jervis giggled at as he started placing kisses on your chin line. "Don't you worry dear, I'm sure your dreams will come to you sooner than later" Jervis spoke before kissing your cheeks and nose, pulling back to admire the way your blush deepened in color. "Eh, I guess its ok," you replied as you held his cheeks again "Especially since everyday with you is a dream..." you wiggled you eyebrows and smiled a wide cocky smile, as both of you tried to lean into each others lips for a kiss, but before they made contact you and Jervis burst out into uncontrollable giggles at your cheesy comment.
After a solid minute of laughing, Jervis spoke up "Real smooth, dearest" before giggling a little more.
"Ah, shush you cutie" you replied as you finally crashed into his lips for a passionate kiss.
Once the both of you parted you asked "So... should we get up?" Jervis buried himself back into your chest. "No" he simply replied before looking up at you from his place in your chest "..unless you have plans, of course"
"My only plan is bein' with you, hun" you smiled much like you did before as Jervis looked back down and started laughing again.
