Chapter Text
Total drama island was supposed to be a thing of the past, yet here Noah was, working for the host as his personal assistant.
Despite somehow ranking among the fan favourites, surprisingly little effort had gone into finding him.
It’s not like Noah was missing.
Far from it.
A knock on his door startled him, arriving earlier than it usually was.
“You alive in there? If so work starts”Chris calls.
“Unfortunately” Noah responded, unclear what part that was a response too.
After hearing footsteps fade away he finally tried to find the effort to get up, but to no avail.
He had no plans with Owen or anyone else, no meetings to set up as for some godforsaken reason Chris hasn’t given him as much work as he used too.
Along with the fact Chris wouldn’t dare fire him due to the fact Noah was his longest lasting assistant by a landslide.
So why should he get up? He can’t just randomly make plans with Izzy or Eva after blanking them for months.
Along with Chris and Chef surprisingly valuing privacy when it’s off camera.
Nothing would change if he got up or not.
So why should he?
Because he had a job which wasn’t lying in bed doing nothing.
If Noah had to guess judging by Chris and Chef’s face he’d say it took him a shorter amount of time than it usually did to get up.
Chef laughing at something the other said, before sharing a glance at Noah.
Chris following a second later.
Both turning away as Noah noticed.
On the table lay some toast, plain old toast.
Even looking at it made him feel sick.
It would taste bland,
no matter what was on it.
Yet to stop the stares he took a bite, and another.
Just as it started to taste good he stopped, placing it on the plate with slightly more force than needed.
Standing up to try and do actual work for once, anything to distract him from his never ending boredom and to stop the glances coming his way.
He couldn’t even make Chris his borderline diabetic ‘coffee’ before he was shoved out the door and into a company car which was somehow owned by Chris.
“Gee, a kidnapping what’s the occasion?”
His monotone voice carried through the vehicle.
“Only to visit your best friend…guess who it is”
Chris grinned.
“Alejandro”
Noah sighed at the mention of him.
Alejandro managed to irritate Noah before he even approved his audition, he was two faced and to say the least a pure drama machine.
He’s surprised Chris wasn’t foaming at the mouth at the thought.
Noah spent twenty minutes pretending not to listen to Chris explaining to Alejandro who he should antagonise more than the others.
Definitely reality television. Not fake at all.
He barely even noticed Chris leave, probably to do something pointless like anger interns which don’t even work for him.
Leaving Noah with Alejandro in the process, the latter shockingly hasn’t striked up a conversation.
Noah hopes it stays that way.
But of course it doesn’t.
Alejandro’s eyes never left the boy, his usual look of smugness now mixed with something resembling concern.
“Mi amigo you look exhausted”
Noah falters.
Of course he noticed it’s Alejandro, that’s one of his most irritating traits.
Thats a reason he got onto the show In the first place.
He recovered as quick as possible.
“That’s what working with Chris does to you”
Alejandro looks unconvinced but thankfully is smart enough and doesn’t push further. He wrote something down before starting to leave.
“Very well then, contact me if anything comes up”
Even thought it seemed professional there was an underlying tone of personal as proved by the fact he left his personal number.
He’s so not telling Chris about this, he’d never hear the end of it.
Thankfully after a “long day” of working Noah was able to retreat to his room before being called to have a family dinner with Chef and Chris.
Noah doesn’t waste any time and immediately falls onto his bed, staring at his ceiling in pure silence until a vibration got his attention.
Having a glance at the name
Owen.
Of course it’s him, he’s been messaging him daily.
Noah considered if he even wanted to know what he messaged, but curiosity got the better of him.
Owen:Hey buddy! Want to go out with me and-
Yeah Noah didn’t need to read it anymore, that required energy he didn’t want to use.
Instead scrolling through the mass amount of messages just from Owen, responses appearing every hundred or so messages.
He could easily type a message, the same four words like he used too
“Sorry but I’m busy”
But he just can’t be bothered to respond or even go out.
He turned his phone down.
