Chapter Text

It was a normal day at school for Marinette,
she was talking with a brunette,
the brunette being her best friend Alya.

Marinette shifted in her seat to face her friend
"Hey-"
She stopped mid sentence after hearing some commotion.

Kim bumped shoulders with Chloé.

"I'm sorry Chloé, I didn't see you."
Kim said, one hand on the nape of his neck.

Chloé looked into his eyes, looking like she wanted to
say something but decided not to.

"Just watch where you're going next time"
She said with a sigh.

Everyone looked surprised at Chloé's reaction
even Marinette was expecting Chloé to freak out.

Chloé looked around the surprised class,
her face growing red with an angry expression.
"What?"

Her voice bore much less venom than anyone expected
everyone looked away, pretending they didn't see anything.

Marinette looked at Alya, her face wearing a shocked expression.
"Is it just me, or was Chloé..... tamer?"

Alya, just as shocked as she was, replied
"Yeah...".

The ravenette leaned closer to her best friend, her voice just above a whisper.
"Do you think she is sick or something?"

The brunette now also leaned closer, voice quieter replied
"Maybe? though i don't know about diseases that calm brats down".

After a moment of thinking , a realization struck Marinette
she genuinely couldn't remember the last time Chloé actually exploded.

The rest of the school day went down normally
aside from the fact that she didn't have any arguments with
the blonde haired girl that seemed to enjoy making fun of
her and her friends.

After school ended Marinette headed home.
It was a five minute walk maximum because she basically lived next to the school.
This was really convenient when she needed to help out in the bakery
or when her parents had to pick her up early
like last year when she almost collapsed with a fever.

Today she worked the whole afternoon, her parents left around six
so she was going to close the bakery alone.

Marinette's parents were going on a rare date
So she told them to leave early and assured them she would be able to close shop herself.
They seemed skeptical but trusted their daughter enough to leave the business in her hands.

After a pretty busy afternoon she was an hour away from closing time.
She sighed, shoulders heavy with the weight of an especially heavy afternoon rush.
Somewhere along her shift it started raining,
which she noticed only when the last of the customers discussed their lack of an umbrella.
After those customers decided to rush towards their next shelter from the rain,
the shop was completely empty.
The sound of the rain drowned the sounds of the outside.

"I hope mama and papa made it to the restaurant before the rain got heavy"
she said to herself.

Because of the ongoing storm the business was slow
more than slow, no one showed up for like twenty minutes
so Marinette decided to start cleaning up a little early
