Chapter 1: The Entrance Exam

Chapter Text

The sky was mostly clear, only a few fluffy clouds daintily floating along the sky. A massive school stood atop a hill, it was shaped like an uppercase H and seemed almost entirely made of glass from the outside. UA, the most prestigious hero university in Japan, maybe even the whole world.

It was great, anyone from the ages of 17 to 20 could apply regardless of official records, after all if they can pass the exam, then they have earned the right to be there. They also had free dormitories on site for anyone that wanted it, but that wasn’t important yet, what was important was passing. A Herculean task, only 36 students would be accepted into the hero course from the general exams.

And yet, as a young boy with blonde hair and amber eyes entered, he couldn’t feel anything but excitement.
“I got this, I’ve studied everything I could find online for free. I just have to take it slow and breathe, getting nauseous from nervousness isn’t gonna help.”
He thought to himself as he took a quick breath.
“I’m sure I’ll do well in the practical. I’ve heard it involves fighting… all the potential bloodshed…”
He smiled widely, still lost in his thoughts
“Oh it’ll be so beautiful, the crimson rivers flowing over the beautiful landscape of the human form!”
He held that smile as he took his seat beside a girl with short purple hair and very long earlobes.

He stuck out from everyone else, wearing simple street clothes instead of a high school uniform. A cozy green hoodie, sweatpants, and a comfortable pair of old red shoes. Adorning his left ear were two clip-on earrings, a thick silver one clamped onto his lobe while a golden cuff hugged the shell of it.

The girl beside him looked at him in her peripheral and thought to herself.
“Who is this guy? Why’s he wearing street clothes? We were instructed to wear our highschool uniforms, was he homeschooled?”

Before anyone’s thoughts could wander farther, a man with gravity defying blonde hair stepped on stage, he was dressed in a leather jacket and had speakers on his neck.
“WHAT IS UP HERO COURSE CANDIDATES!!?”
He shouted, causing many people to wince.

“Damn he’s loud, I feel bad for people with hearing quirks” Izuku thought to himself.

“IT’S THE FIRST STAGE OF THE EXAM, IT’S THE WRITTEN EXAM, YA DIG!?” Present Mic shouted
“Gods, why does he talk like that?” Izuku thought to himself
“YOU’RE GONNA HAVE 3 HOURS ON THE CLOCK, ANSWER ALL YA CAN!!! BE WARNED THOUGH, THIS TEST WAS PUT TOGETHER BY THE PRINCIPAL OF UA, THE SMARTEST CREATURE IN THE WORLD!! SO MAKE SURE YOU READ EVERYTHING CAREFULLY!!”
“TIME!!”
“STARTS!!”
“NOW!!”

The desks everyone was sitting at open up, a packet of papers along with a pencil lifting up to the examinees.
“Well shit.” Izuku couldn’t help but think as he took up the pencil.
“Hm, these questions… really stress testing our brains…. Our brains, pumping, so full of blood… so full…” Izuku then shook his head.
“Focus on the exam damnit!” Izuku mentally shouted at himself.

The girl beside him noticed his expressions in her peripheral.
“The guy beside me is acting weird… whatever, I can’t concern myself with him, I gotta focus”

It took all three hours for Izuku to finish. Every question was actually rather straightforward, the issue was that they were written in ways that were designed to be difficult to understand correctly. Simple yet easily misinterpreted questions were a far better gauge of intelligence in Nezu’s mind than technically difficult questions.

“Well… at least none of the questions were left blank.” Izuku sighed, “It’s okay, head up Izuku, I can still be a hero.”

The second the 3 hour window finished, the desk hatches opened back up and allowed the packet to fall back in, closing once the student returned the pencil as well.

“ALRIGHT LITTLE LISTENERS, THAT’S THE WRITTEN TEST OVER!! NOW WE GET TO THE FUN PART!!”
Present Mic clicked a button, starting a presentation on the screen behind him.
“NOW IT’S TIME FOR THE PRACTICAL EXAM!! THINK OF THIS LIKE A VIDEO GAME KIDDOS!! THERE ARE SEVERAL TYPES OF ROBOTS THAT’LL GIVE YA DIFFERENT POINTS FOR BEATING ‘EM!!”
The presentation moves forward to display the one pointer, a robot balanced on a singular wheel with two minigun arms, a large torso, long neck, and a small head with one red eye.
“THESE LITTLE FELLAS ARE CALLED VICTORY, THEY’LL GIVE YA ONE POINT EACH!!”
The presentation moved once more, displaying a two pointer. It had four legs and a large central body with three cannons on the front, a long scorpion-esque tail, and a neck that seemed to come from the center of its body; it too had a small head with one red eye.
“THESE SCORPION LOOKING ONES ARE CALLED THE IMPERIAL, THEY’LL NET YA A COOL 2 POINTS EACH!!”
The screen switched once more, now displaying a very large robot, it had massive triple jointed arms, the primary shoulders looked like missile silos, its head was below the center of its body which rested on large wheels. Its face had three eyes and a piece that almost looked like an old train cow catcher acting like a mouthguard.
“AND THIS BIG CHUNKY BOY IS THE VENATOR, DESTROYING ‘EM WILL GET YOU 3 POINTS EACH TIME!!”
A hand raises amongst the crowd, Present Mic presses a button so a spotlight can highlight the boy with short blue hair and a squarish build. He stood up.
“Sir! According to the pamphlet handed out on our desks, there should be 4 villains, while your phrasing made it seem as if there is only 3! And you!”
He pointed a hand at Izuku, another light highlighting him. Izuku just hummed questioningly as he looked up at the boy.

“Why are you wearing street clothes!? UA specifically stated that the contestants for the exam be wearing their high school uniforms!” His arm chopped with every few syllables.
There was a beat before Izuku answered
“...Because I didn’t go to a school with a uniform?”
Iida blinked “Ah… I see.”
Izuku sighed and rested his chin on his hand as he thought to himself,
“Not gonna tell such a clearly pretentious jerk that I’m self taught. His uniform is so crisp, I bet he went to some private school. Doesn’t matter. What’s the likelihood we both pass and end up in the same class?”

Present Mic cleared his throat before speaking.
“THE FINAL ROBOT IS THE 0 POINTER! THAT ONE ISN’T A FIGHT, IT’S ONE YOU NEED TO RUN FROM!!” he continued to shout every word

“I see, I apologize for the unfair interruption!” Iida shouted back, then bowed and sits back down”

“NOW THEN!!” Present Mic pressed a button, all of the normal lights shut off, black lights turning on in turn. “IF YOU TAKE A LOOK AT YOUR DESK, YOU’LL SEE A LETTER!! THAT LETTER IS YOUR GATE THAT YOU’LL TAKE YOUR EXAM AT!!”

Every desk indeed had a letter, A, B, C, D, or E. Moreso, every desk beside one another had a different letter than the desk to either side, but in random intervals. It was almost chaotic, no five desks in a row had the same combination of letters. Luckily, the teens had plenty of time to memorize their letter and go to the bus to take them to their gate. They even had the luxury of changing beforehand.

Izuku enters a changing room, then removes his hoodie and sweatpants.
“They’re comfortable, but I don’t wanna get snagged,” Izuku muttered to himself as he took off his loose shirt and clip on earrings, then put on a sleeveless compression shirt as well as compression leggings, then some shorts over top.

It was a very simple outfit change, but it would do wonders for mobility and allow him to move without worry of getting snagged.

“Unless I get someone to agree there’s no way I can fight those robots head on. I guess I’ll have to look for a kill switch or something. Kill… killing, letting the warm, beautiful blood spill and paint the ground…”
Izuku takes a deep breath and slaps his cheeks, then joins the rest of the students on the bus. He then glanced around.

There was that boy with glasses who had called him out earlier, now that he wasn’t wearing a uniform, Izuku could see just how massive he was. There was another boy with 6 arms and webbing between them. Another boy was covered in fur and looked like that western legend, bigfoot, if not for the glasses. There was also a brunette with naturally blushed cheeks talking with a brunette boy with a very simple face.

“Natural blush… Oh I love blushers, that just means there’s SO much blood trapped in those cheeks of hers… Calm yourself, Izuku. Focus on the exam.”

The bus began moving

“Theres no way UA would build robots that could only be destroyed, that would eliminate so many potentially awesome heroes that wimpy don’t have destructive quirks, so there has to be some kind of alternative take down method. If they have some sort of button, or an off switch… perhaps it’s in a location that would make sense on a human? No, those robots clearly aren’t modeled after humans. The 1 pointer had one big wheel, miniguns, and a relatively thick looking ‘breastplate’... Perhaps hidden where its neck meets the body, or somewhere on the neck in general. The one worth 2 was like a scorpion, my assumption would be that its weakness is on its underbelly. The 3 pointer looked really dangerous and big, its sides or back would be too obvious, perhaps its weak spot is on its top… or maybe… Maybe the 3 pointers deactivation switch, if they do exist, is hidden in plain sight, on its front, maybe even on its face, hidden as an eye?”

Izuku was a bit engrossed with his thoughts, enough so he didn’t notice he wasn’t only thinking, he was also mumbling his thoughts.

“I suppose I’ll need to focus on my agility then, good, that’s my strongest suit after all.”

The fur covered boy nudges Izuku’s arm.
“Hm?” Izuku looks at him
“Y-” the boy starts, but Izuku cuts him off
“Lemme guess. I was mumbling?”
The boy nods
“Sorry, I mutter when I get into my own head.”
“It’s perfectly understandable…”
“Toga, Izuku Toga.”
“Mm, it’s perfectly understandable, Toga. I’m Shishida, Jurota Shishida.”
“Nice to meet you”
“Nice to meet you as well.”

Izuku takes a deep breath.
“I’m glad I was able to pick up that job as a cashier. It wasn’t much money, but without rent to pay and no phone, I was able to save up for this compression clothing.”

Eventually they reach the site and everyone dismounts the bus. Izuku takes a deep breath while staring at the gates. Iida looks at him.
”I feel as if I should talk to him and directly apologize… No, he’s focusing, I shouldn’t distract him.”

Izuku hears the gates begin to open so dashes forward, jumping over other students. He jumps and twists, narrowly slipping through the barely opening gates.

“Hey, that’s cheating!!” Iida shouted.

“WHAT ARE YOU KIDS WAITING FOR!? THERE’S NO COUNTDOWN IN A REAL FIGHT!!‘ Present Mic announced across all testing areas.

“Crap, the gates still aren’t even a quarter of the way open, that boy got a massive headstart! He must’ve deduced that UA wouldn’t give us a countdown, how intelligent!” Iida thought as he ran forward, trying to push through the crowd

“I’m so glad this school follows street rules. As that man once said, the best fighters are the ones who never have to fight long, or in other words, always strike first and hard enough that your opponent doesn’t wanna get up!” Izuku smiled to himself at the memory.

A 1-pointer rolls out into the street in front of him.
“Prepare for decimation, flesh bag!” Its speaker projected loudly.

Izuku runs towards it. It lifts one arm forward, revving its minigun. Izuku jumps to the side as it begins shooting rubber bullets. Izuku lands and jumps to the other side, low to the ground.
“I see it now!” Izuku thought excitedly.
The 1-pointer stopped firing and rotates its torso to aim again. Izuku reaches forward and presses a small, trapezoid shaped plate on its chest. The 1-pointer’s eye dims and it shuts down.

“Well, I was close. That’s one.” Izuku glances back, seeing the rest of the students getting in, so he runs down a side street.

“Need to get to a secluded area instead, the main street probably has more bots, but also the most competition.” Izuku thought.

He sees three 2-pointers marching down the street in an inverse V formation, two upfront, one behind them. Izuku takes a deep breath and enters a building in order to run down the street out of sight. He hides next to a window, barely looking out of it. The three march past, playing the imperial march. Izuku opens the window and slips out behind them.

He runs up and slides under the trailing one, smirking to himself as he sees a familiar trapezoid shaped button. “Looks like I was right.” He hits it, causing the back one to shut down, the other two start turning. Izuku runs and gets under the front left one, deactivating it as well.

The right one turns and scans for a target. Izuku jumps over the deactivated robot, then runs at the third, it angles itself and tries to slam its tail down on him. Izuku side steps, intentionally barely dodging it, then rolls over the top of it and gets under it, pressing the button, shutting it down.

“Only 7 points, it isn’t too bad, but I can do better. I can hear some heavy machinery and explosions from the mainstreet… Fuck, fine, I’ll go in the crowd” Izuku thought to himselg, then jogs to the main street

“Has anyone caught your eyes, teachers?” Nezu asked in the observation room.

“These contestants are quite strong all around, nobody is directly standing out to me quite yet.” Thirteen said

“Well yes, this exam tests many things. While some are using their information gathering abilities to plan their strategies, others rely on their speed to get ahead of their peers. Those staying calm under pressure have a huge advantage, as do those with raw combat strength and ability, however, the most successful applicants are always the ones who combine these traits.” Nezu explained while cycling through camera feeds.

“Pinky, behind you!” Izuku calls out as he jumps over a 1-pointer’s arm and hits its button.
The pink girl spins around and shoots acid, melting an attacking 2-pointer. “Thanks, Blondie!”

“You’re welcome!” Izuku shouted before running and tackling a contestant with pulsing orange hair, getting them out of the path of a 3-pointers faux missile.
“I call dibs on that one!” He announced and begins running towards it.

“There’s a blonde boy in site B I’m intrigued by. His agility and dodging capacity is far beyond his peers.” Vlad King said, stroking his chin

Izuku runs in a zigzag pattern. The 3-pointer shoots a bundle of 4 missiles at him.
“Watch out behind me!” Izuku called, then jumps forward into a bullet spin, going through the gap between the 4 missiles. “I’ll just have to hope that the people dodged or tanked those.” Izuku thinks, still focused on the 3-pointer.

The 3-pointer swings its right arm down diagonally at him. Izuku dives to the ground, allowing the arm to swing over his head, hitting the ground a meter or so to his side. Izuku quickly gets to his feet and clambers onto its arm. The 3-pointer swings its arm upwards to try to throw him off, but Izuku jumps off, grabbing one of the missile silos on its shoulder to swing himself onto the top of its body.

“Based on the other two, the eyes aren’t gonna be a button, I need to look for a small trapezoid shaped plate. There’s none on top or on its front, so where wouldn’t most people look?” Izuku looks towards its back, at the slight curve between the top plate and back plate, then spots it thanks to the sun.

The 3-pointer swings both arms to try to hit him off, but Izuku presses the plate that caught his eye, shutting it down.

“11 points, nowhere near enough.” Izuku thinks as he jumps down from the 3-pointer and heads down a side street. “If I can find a group of 1 and 2 pointers, then I can catch up to the rest.”

“He hasn’t used his quirk yet either” Vlad King continued to comment on Izuku’s performance.
“I do admit that the boy is showing a fair amount of skill.” Nezu commented
“Yes, that’s not the kind of dodging you can build by simply training, the boy has actual experience.” Vlad noted, but Aizawa disagreed.
“His fighting is sloppy. He’s not comfortable using his bare hands, but whatever his preferred weapon is wouldn’t be effective, which is why he isn’t using anything.” Aizawa spoke flatly
“I’d argue he IS quite comfortable with his hands, actually.” Vlad said sharply
“If nothing else, he has good eyes. He’s spotted where the buttons are on all of the bots, other combatants that can’t fight with their quirks haven’t gotten all of them yet.” Midnight interjected.

Izuku rolls under a 2-pointer, hitting its button, then jumps over a 1-pointer’s swing, hitting its button. Five 1-pointers roll towards him in an M shaped formation.

“14 points, gotta get more. If I get those five 1-pointers, it’ll get me to 19.” With that thought, Izuku runs towards them, glancing behind them. The three at the front roll forward and begin shooting their rubber bullets. Izuku jumps into a building through a broken window to dodge.

Shishida comes from behind, crushing two of them. The other three turn towards him, but he immediately smashes one. Izuku vaults over the shoulder of a 1-pointer and hits its button, then strikes the button on the other remaining 1-pointer.

“Toga! Excellent distraction.” Shishida said happily.
Izuku nods “Thanks for the assist. I’m only at 16 points, can you lead me to a group of 3-pointers?”
“Well I can’t differentiate them, but I can bring you to another group.” Shishdia offers.
“Thanks, Shishida-san!”
“Follow me!” Shishida begins running, Izuku easily runs alongside him.
“You look bigger than before, fluffier too!” Izuku said, finally noticing Shishida’s size
“Ah, yes, that’d be my quirk.”
“You get bigger and fluffier? So cute!”
“Eh!?” Shishida blushed beneath his fur and turned a corner.

Izuku spots the robots and sprints towards them. “Thanks Shishida-san! Love ya!” Izuku said happily, noticing the stunned expression on Shishida’s face.
“Wh-what the hell is wrong with him?” Shishida thought, slowing down to process

“Six 1-pointers, three 2-pointers, and two 3-pointers, bloody hell that’s a lot! They’re looking the other way.”

Uraraka jumps into a building to get away from the large group of robots, sick.
“So nauseous, I went too hard.” she mentally cursed herself, then peaked out of the window as she hears footsteps.

Izuku jumps up onto one of the 3-pointers and hits its button, then jumps to a 1-pointer, swinging around its neck, then he plants his feet on its chest, hitting its button as jumps off of it and slams his feet into another 1-pointer’s button.
“Woah, he’s so athletic… and cute…” Uraraka thinks to herself

A 2-pointer crawls forward quickly, shooting dodgeballs from its three frontal cannons. Izuku jumped aside, barely dodging. Another 2-pointer slams its tail at him, but he rolls back to avoid it, then jumps under it, hitting its button while hiding from the other bots. A 3-pointer turns and aims at the 2-pointer he’s hiding under. Izuku gets out from under it and onto one of the other 2-pointers. The 3-pointer shoots a missile at him, but Izuku jumps off the 2-pointer and hits another 1-pointers button.

The last three 1-pointers begin shooting at him.
“Fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck!” Izuku mentally curses himself and runs to the side, jumping through a broken window. “Ow ow ow, those rubber bullets hurt and probably deduct points.” Izuku mutters to himself.
“Are you okay?” Uraraka asks, concerned for him.
“I’m good bubble cheeks!” Izuku exclaims.
“Bubble cheeks!?” Uraraka mentally screams.

Izuku hears the gunfire stop, so jumps back out the window. A 3-pointer swings an arm at him, but Izuku jumps up to avoid it. It swings its other arm at him, but Izuku hits its arm with his arm to roll his body over it, then manages to get his feet on its arm, then he jumps onto it and hits its button, causing it to shut down.

The remaining 2-pointer swings its tail at him, but Izuku jumps off the 3-pointer to the side, then jumps into a dive and crawls beneath it, hitting its button, causing it to shut down. Just then, the boy with 3 pairs of arms webbed together, Shoji, runs in, grappling a 1-pointer, catching the attention of the remaining two 1-pointers. The teen throws the grappled 1-pointer into another, toppling them over. The third revs its gun, but Izuku vaults over its shoulder and hits the button.

“You good, man?” Izuku asks, leaning against the deactivated 1-pointer. The two toppled over 1-pointers shift, trying to get up, then Shoji breaks both of them with his raw muscles. A mouth then formed on the end of one of his spare arms. “Yes, I’m alright.”

“Oh, you can summon more hands and mouths? Bet you’re a real ladies man, eh?” Izuku playfully elbows him. The taller boy just blinked in confusion
“...what..?”
“What? Hey, do those extra limbs feel?” Izuku continued, unbothered the boys confusion
“...yes.”
“Interesting~” Izuku said
“Fuck, I’m really thirsty right now” Izuku thought, licking his fangs.
“Uhm, are you okay?” The boy asked
“Yeah, I just haven’t had much blood today…”
“Blood..?” Uraraka asked
“Yeah, I drink blood for my quirk, it’s something of an addiction. If I don’t consume blood for a week straight, I’ll start going crazy, by the second week I’ll start blacking out, third week will bring increased violence and sleep walking, by the end of the first month I’ll enter a full blown bloodstarved quirk psychosis”
“Oh, wow…”
“Yeah, it’s annoying. Luckily I’ve got good… friends.”

The faint sound of machinery filled the air

“What’s that sound?” Shishida, who finally caught up to Izuku, asks to no one in particular
“...Is it just me, or is the ground rumbling?” Izuku asks.
“No… it’s definitely rumbling,” Shoji confirmed.

Just then, peaking over the rooftops, the 0-pointer came into view.

“RUN,BITCH, RUUUUN!!” Izuku shouted just before turning and sprinting away.
“AAHHHHH!!” Uraraka touches herself to float and jumps in low leaps to move faster.
Shoji sprints as fast as he can while Shishida grows more to run using all four limbs.

As Izuku keeps sprinting, a faint scent causes him to look to the side, his eyes widening with excitement at what he sees. “Blood…” He thinks, his hunger briefly flooding his mind.

A short girl with a brown bob cut and bangs that cover her eyes is laying against a wall, breathing heavily, seemingly not having noticed the 0-pointer. Izuku runs to her, pushing his hunger down.
“Hey, hey. Look at me.” He gently shakes her shoulders.
“H-huh..?” the girl questions, still not really cognizant.

Izuku looks at the approaching 0-pointer, then back to her. “I’m carrying you now.” He then picks her up bridal style and runs with her. She instinctually wraps her arms around his shoulder and neck.
“You look really beautiful with that scarlet blotch on your side, I always enjoyed abstract paintings” Izuku comments and smiles, exposing his sharp teeth.
“Beautiful..? Me?” The girl thought to herself.

After only 20 seconds of running and, in some contestants’ case, screaming, a klaxon signifies the end of the practical exam. Izuku brings the girl to the main street before setting her down.
“You okay?” he asks while playfully poking her cheek.

“Mm… I’m only slightly hurt”
“You sure? That looks like blood on your side.” He said, then his voice lowered to a murmur, “Beautiful, glistening, warm blood…”
The girl, Komori, shivers in fear, “This dude is seriously creeping me out,” she thinks

An old woman, Recovery Girl, walks down the street and calls out.
“Alright dearies, who needs healing?”
“Over here Ms, this girl is bloody!” Izuku calls back, so she approaches.
“Oh dear, that’s a big injury!” she then extended her lips to kiss Komori on the cheek, beginning to heal her

Izuku’s mind immediately raced, questioning how her lips would feel, against his skin. He then shuddered.
“Oh, I got shot by some of those rubber bullets too.” Izuku said
“Oh dear, well I suppose it wouldn’t do you any good to get a bunch of bruises from that.” She then extends her lips to kiss his cheek.
He smiles widely, his teeth glinting in the sunlight. “Thanks nurse, I’m feeling better now! Have a good day!” He then began walking away, bouncing on the balls of his feet.
“W-wait!” Komori calls
“Hm?” Izuku turs to look at her
She sits up, “I’m Komori, Kinoko Komori. What’s your name?”
“I’m Toga, Izuku Toga! Hope to see you in the hero course, shorty!”
“Y-yeah… uhm, thank you. For-”
“For carrying you? Oh it was my pleasure, shorty!”
“I just told you my name!”
“You’re so right, sorry Komori~” Izuku said teasingly
“Uhm, I hope you make it into the hero course, Toga.” she says timidly, slightly flustered from his tone.
Izuku’s eyes shine, “Thank you! Love you, Komori.” He says, then runs off to catch the first bus back.

Komori was silent for a few seconds, her face turning beat red.
“Wh-what did he just say!? A hot boy called me beautiful and said he loves me!?” she mentally screamed

Izuku meanwhile was humming to himself as he gets into the bus.
“I think I hit 31 points, should be plenty. And I made so many new friends!” he happily thought to himself as the bus left for UA's main building.

Izuku changes back into his street clothes once the bus gets back to UA, then returns to an alley with a hidden away nook where he wouldn’t be spotted.
“Letters take a week to send out, annoyingly enough. If I get in, I’ll finally have a proper place to stay again, after 6 years. After that man changed, when me and Himi went our separate ways… I hope she’s safe. Who am I kidding, me and Himi are the same in the way that we’ll never go down. Her knife work has probably gotten better, meanwhile I’ve not been able to train my sword skills since that man changed.”

After 8 days of Izuku checking his PO box every morning and night, he finally got a letter.

Izuku walks along a beach and down a pier until he can sit on the edge.
“Nobody is around here, so I won’t disturb anyone here.”

Izuku opens the package and looks at the puck in confusion before pressing a button. With a flicker of light a hologram appears over the “puck”.

“Am I a dog, a bear, a mouse? More importantly, I’m UA’s principal, Nezu! Toga Izuku, to be honest we were quite shocked by your application, since you lacked any record of junior high and high school attendance, but we took a chance and allowed you to try, and boy was it an excellent choice on our part! You scored 71 on the written exam, only a single point above passing, however given your lack of official education, we believe you’ll be able to catch up with the rest of your peers by the end of the first semester. Where you truly shined was in the practical! You scored a total of 31 villain points, but what kind of hero institution would we be if we only rewarded you for taking down villains? There was a second, secret, point type, heroic/rescue points! Through communicating with others, protecting them from robots, and most especially carrying another, injured, contestant to safety from the 0-pointer… you were judged by the UA staff and earned a total of 26 rescue points! With a total of 57 points, you ended 9th in the exam. Should you need or wat=nt housing, we offer free dormitories on site. Your student ID has been included with this letter, if you wish to make use of the dormitories, please come within the next 5 days.”

Izuku was stunned as he could only think to himself, “I… I got in..?”

“We would like to formally welcome you, to your hero academia. You will be in class 1B.”

The image of Nezu vanishes and the scoreboard of the top 10 is displayed.

“My total was only one point above the 10th placer and only two behind the 8th placer. It really was a very close competition then.”

Izuku digs around in the envelope and pulls out his ID card.
“Alright. UA, here I come!” He stands up and begins walking.
He gets off the beach, then takes a moment to shake the sand out of his shoes, then he stretches his back and begins jogging towards UA.

It takes a few hours of a consistent jog to reach the gates of UA, where a furry man awaited students like him at the gate.

Izuku uses the ID on a scanner at the gate, then enters, drawing Hound Dog’s gaze.
“Hi sir fluffball!” Izuku calls out to him.
“...The name’s Hound Dog, kid. I’m assuming you’re here for the dormitory system?” He asks
“Mhm! Toga Izuku, class 1B.”
“1B, eh? Alright, follow the path to the right, that’ll lead ya to the dorms. Hero course is the farthest left grouping, 1B will be the first building on the right side.”
“Got it! Thanks Hound Doge!” Izuku secures his backpack and begins jogging down the path.

“Hm, that kid has quite some stamina, I smelt him on the wind quite some time ago, so he must’ve been jogging this whole time” he thinks to himself before turning to greet any other students.

Izuku continues jogging but notices someone ahead of him.
“That hair and body shape…” he grins widely
“Heyyy! Bubble cheeks!!” He calls out excitedly as he catches up to Uraraka.
“Bubble Cheeks!?” She thinks indignantly and turns around
“Oh! It’s you… ahm, I’m Uraraka Ochaco. I’m in class 1A.”

Izuku pouted at the information
“What a shame, I’m in 1B. Oh yeah, I’m Toga, Izuku Toga!” He slows down as he finally catches up to her, now walking side by side with her.

“So… dorm system?”

“Yeah! Hey, hey, how much blood is in your blushy cheeks? I bet it’s a lot, I bet it’s tasty too!”

“That’s… a very weird thing to say, Toga.”

“Well I don’t think it’s weird.” He pouts cutely. “Bleeding for others is really romantic.”

“Ahm, I can understand that mindset, but making someone bleed isn’t romantic.”

“Hm? Like… If I bled protecting you, it’d be romantic, but if I stab someone to make them bleed, it isn’t?”

Uraraka was quite for a few moments. “...yeah”

“Hmm… But seeing people bleeding makes them so much cuter…”

“Suuuuuuuure…”

“Oh! Those must be the dorms! Bai bai!” He goes into the 1B dormitory and checks the dorm organization chart to find his room, then goes to it.
“I’m glad I won’t be alone in these dormitories…” He puts his bag down and sighs.
“UA will probably give me many uniforms, but only having one set of lounging clothes and one of workout clothes is gonna suck…” he goes into the common room
“If I’m the only 1B student I’m gonna be so… What’s the opposite of claustrophobic?” Izuku wondered internally “Let’s see what all is on this first floor… Kitchen, bathroom, courtyard, Oh, there’s the bath… So big… Definitely built for 20 people in mind, after all even if it’s split by gender, there’s no telling if any women will even make it in any given year.” Izuku’s thoughts were interrupted by him actually speaking.
“Hm! I wonder if I should get more clothes? Nah, I don’t have the disposable income for that!”

Three days after moving in, Izuku is resting on the common room couch. Nobody else had moved into 1B, though he thought he saw one or two other people going to the 1A dormitory. He sighs, sprawled on the couch when the front door clicks open. He immediately sits up and looks.
“New friend?” he thinks, but sees a tall, broad man with white hair and protruding teeth from his lower jaw.

“Old man? Must be a teacher.” he thinks as he gets up from the couch.
“Hello sir!”

“Hm, Toga, you’re the only 1B student who has taken up living in the dorms already. I am your homeroom teacher, Vlad King.” He explained flatly.

Izuku sniffs the air. “You smell like blood… Good blood.”

“I do have a blood quirk”

“Ohh~ so do I!” Izuku said cheerfully.

“So I read. I also read the drawbacks of your quirk, so I came here to make a delivery.” Vla King then hands Izuku a box. “In here are all your usual UA uniforms. Summer, fall, winter, and spring uniforms for both inside the main building and for P.E.”

“Ohh~ I’ve never had so many clothes!” Izuku said, but he also thought to himself, “Well I have, but that was like, a decade ago.”

“That’s… concerning” Vlad King thought to himself, then spoke. “I also brought these.” he gestures to a portable cooler. “In here are bloodbags. One for every day of the month. This is a specially made cooler so that it’s the proper temperature for blood bag storage. Keep it in your room if you like, just make sure you only take one a day.”

“I understand, sir. Thank you.” Izuku bowed his head

“It’s no issue, Toga.”

“Oh, and Mr Vlad, please call me Izuku.”

“Hm, alright Izuku.” Vlad said, but his mind raced, “This feels unprofessional, but referring to students by preferred names is a common courtesy in the west, so it’s fine I think.” After sorting his thoughts, he spoke, “Class begins tomorrow, be in the classroom before 8:00 for the first day.”

“Alright!” Izuku picks up the box full of uniforms and brings it upstairs to his dorm room, then comes back down to get the special blood cooler, then opens it and grabs a blood bag, “I haven’t had blood today, so, don’t mind me.” Izuku then slurped up the entire blood bag in one go.

“He drinks that blood like Aizawa drinking his damn alcoholic apple sauce” Vlad thought, mildly amused, then spoke, “I don’t mind.”

“I’ll be there on time tomorrow!” Izuku said, then goes up to his room, bringing up the blood cooler with him.
