Work Text:
Struggling. Struggling against this man who had grabbed you in your sleep. Your eyes are so dry, making it hard to see. How blurry everything was in the dark, especially in your house a little ways odd from the highway. You had moved there because you thought this sorta thing should have stopped if you weren't near... them.
You continue struggling against a man in a mask, against his warm body, stiff as a board, rigid against your struggles again. He groans back as you kick him in the chest and pull yourself off your bed.
"...go home." You grimaces back at him. You think you can assume who this one is by now.By his shoulders, by.. his arms.. by his hips that your hands curve against so nicely.
He just stares back at you by the end of your bed, groaning back. You think you could at least understand what might be happening to him when he was like this. That thing that you kept seeing must be doing this. Somehow.
"I said go home!" You finally shout as he doesn't move.
He reaches for you again. You glare at him, pissed that this had somehow become somewhat of a daily occurrence before you moved. This time he drags you down to the end of your bed, grabbing you properly.
"Tim. Go home. Please." You mumble as he wraps his arms around you properly. His glazed over eyes don't meet yours.
How did it end up like this? It didn't used to be like this. It was better than this. Your friends weren't going missing for months at a time, they could keep stable jobs, and most importantly they stayed alive.
Maybe that's why you moved away from Rosswood. You couldn't handle the guilt that you weren't affected like the others. That you just... Had phantoms of what they used to be, now break into your bedroom to watch you, to grab you.
You could feel yourself tearing up.
Tim grabs your hair, holding you tighter against himself. You grimace as his hand basically tugs at your hair. God that hurt. "Tim, get off-"
Tim pulls you down against the headboard, hitting you against it, again, again- fuck. You shriek in pain as he forces you once more against the wooden ornate headboard.
Your vision blurs as he hits you again, and you're sleeping again.
-
You wake up in a car, you're laid down in the backseat rather than a trunk. Small mercies. You don't sit up, but you stay laying down. You think you're tied up, or your arms have just become so numb that they feel like static. You look up at the driver's seat. Tim in that mask looking forward to the road, this car stunk. It was as if someone hadn't used air freshener in it since they took their five teenagers out to soccer practice.. ugh.
How long has Tim been stuck in this state? Months maybe with how his car looked. It wasn't dirty, but it wasn't exactly clean you assume due to the food wrappers on the floor. God, your head still hurts terribly. You stare at Tim's face, well, more like his hair resting against the car's headrest. It was still dark outside, but it was starting to gain a little bit of that beautiful blue color hours before the sun rose.
"...Tim..?" You question quietly. You don't want to piss him off by being loud, but you wanted water.
He growls back quietly. He doesn't look back, but he affirms your words.
"Do you have water up there?" You question as you look up at him.
You watch as he tosses a full water bottle at the back window without looking back. It quickly rolls down and goes against your hip.
"Thanks." You mumble slightly. You decide to hold off from questions for now, but you turn to grab the water bottle and open it.
Your arms feel sore, you must've been laying on them since he put you in the car.
You know that he won't answer any questions in this state. That's just how this worked. You'd get chased, or dragged out of bed and you wouldn't get answers. You would get a confounded Tim later, not understanding why you were tied up in his closet, and then you wouldn't be able to explain anything to him.
Yet, you didn't understand why this was happening now. It had been years since the last time you were kidnapped by Tim when he was like this. You used to assume it was just like sleepwalking, but driving? People can't just sleep while driving, that demands physical attention that a sleepwalker couldn't have. You swallow down more water dryly.
You pull yourself to sit behind the driver's seat, curious to see what highway you were on now to get taken back to Tim's house.
"Tim..?" You ask again. He quietly responds again, growling. "Why does this happen? The mask thing and the taking me with you?"
Tim looks at you in the rearview mirror, the mask making them pop out exponentially. He looks at you and then goes back to the road.
"Right. I forgot you don't speak like this." You sigh slightly. You lean against the back of his seat. You want to sleep, but you also want to try and ask more questions. "...could.. I guess, you nod and shake your head to tell me how correct I am?"
You hear him scoff against the mask.
"Really? Is that how you feel about it?" You slightly laugh
He pauses, now looking at you. He sighs and nods.
"Pay attention to the road, Tim." You press a hand against his shoulder which you notice he immediately leans against with his chin. You feel a heat cross against your face.
"Right. Um-" You start slowly. "Is the reason you kidnap me because you like to troll yourself?"
He shakes his head gently. Really?
You hum. "Fine, is it because you have nightmares and you need someone else to make sure there aren't any monsters?" He pauses for a little bit, and he slightly shrugs.
"...I see.." You smile slightly. "For someone so much larger you shouldn't worry about that. I bet you could take any monster."
His chin presses against your fingers a little harder now. "...hm.. is it something about nightmares?"
He stares at the road and he nods. "Aw." You mumble slightly, man you feel exhausted. He growls at your response. "I mean it like in um- a manly way? Umh.."
You press your head against the back of his head rest. "So you take me because I'm comforting?"
He stares at the road and he doesn't answer.
You sigh again and you lay back down. It's too dark to see much outside except thousands of trees broken up sometimes by fields. "Sleeping again." You prewarn him before you lay down.
He growls quietly in acceptance.
-
"What the fuck?" You hear a familiar baritone above your head, yet.. this was not the closet. This was a desk. You had been place on a desk tied up.
You open your eyes at that familiar look he always gave you as if it wasn't his hands that did this. "Hey." You mumble.
"Don't hey me." Tim sits you up before slowly untying you. "Was it the masked guy?"
Last time you had mentioned to Tim about the Masked Guy, he had been so apprehensive and angry at you. Like you had been lying to him about it.
"Yeah, masked guy. So- um.. this isn't your house, is it?" You ask quietly, as the ceiling didn't look as familiar. Tim shakes his head.
"Motel hopping. It's.. um. There's been stuff happening involving Alex and stuff." He scoffs, Alex? Alex wasn't a bad person. Sure the last time you saw him you called him paranoid and irrational, but he had literally tackled you about something about his camera. It had been fair game.
"What's wrong with Alex?"
Tim sighs like it's something extremely heavy to talk about. "..a lot. Let's just say that." You stare at Tim, still tired, your head still sore and still wanting to ask questions that you know Tim won't have answers to.
You notice that Tim has stopped untying you, like he's analyzing you, checking if you're a threat before he does. You look away from his face, you look around the room behind him. Two beds? Two bags? You had never expected Tim to get a girlfriend.
"Right.. uhm. Have you figured out why your masked guy keeps taking me to you?" Tim genuinely scoffs.
Tim looks exhausted. "I don't understand why that freak does anything. He's helped people I've sworn off, and then he... Brings you to me."
You sigh. Great. All you got was that you might be a comforting person from the Masked Guy. Which was probably the best you were gonna get for now.
"...Can you take me home? Um.. he kinda knocked me out and I don't exactly have cash to get back.. plus I don't know where we are." You ask quietly.
Tim sighs. "Like last time?"
You nod quietly, embarrassed.
You don't know if you preferred struggling against the Masked Man or if you enjoyed it when you got to see Tim after you were knocked out and drove back.
Maybe being someone comforting was better than being alone.
