Chapter Text
Understanding what she had to do, the pink-haired girl shed a few tears, crying silently.
It was the easiest choice she would ever make, and also the hardest.
If it was her happiness, her simple wish, balanced against the fate of the entire cosmos… well then there was nothing to debate, was there?
Her mind understood this.
But her heart… her heart was in shambles, broken from the inside, falling apart like million tiny shards of glass, glittering in their brokenness.
In her heart, she had wanted nothing more than to become a Nameless, and embark on a journey across the cosmos on that beautiful train, in the name of the Trailblaze.
Crying softly, accompanied by Peach, her lovely friend, she walked across the soft grass, a pinkish hue to it, as she walked back in time, to close this loop of causality, and ensure that everything would happen as it had, that Amphoreus’ answer would become irrefutable.
She sent her pink and fluffy self to the half-dead Trailblazer and his loyal companion Dan Heng. She planted seeds of hope in the heart of her childhood friend Khaslana. Dear Khaslana, you’re so strong, and I know what you have to do will be harrowing like nothing you’ve ever experienced before, and it will seem impossible, break you, but you must hold on. You must keep holding on, until that hero arrives. The ending you’re fighting for will arrive.
With a fond smile she created the hero cards, for Peach, to inspire her and Khaslana, as kids inside their still peaceful village, not yet found by disaster. Created the Remembrance Maze, full of cute little Mems, to make their life just a little brighter, and give them a place to hide, for when that day….
After everything was set in motion, everything gestured towards the ending that they had written, together, her and Peach arrived at the origin point in time, in the warm and peaceful embrace of Aedes Elysiae. Peach gently disappeared, after a warm goodbye, ready to be reborn in the infinity loop of time.
Cyrene was left, alone, in the garden close to her beloved swing. Fatigue and sleepiness washed over her, and she laid down in the soft golden grass, her back against the ground, eyes towards the sky. Peach was reborn. The loop of causality was closed now.
What would become of her now?
Eyelids heavy, everything faded as she sunk into a deep, dreamless slumber, finally able to rest, though with no one to watch over her, alone, again.
….
This is the end… right?
No… this ending isn’t romantic at all. It wouldn’t do for Amphoreus’ gentle god to fade all alone, forgotten by everyone, now would it? The author of this beautiful epic deserves a part in the ending she gave her everything to create.
You think so too, right?
Watch, then, as a group of lovable people on a stellar train give it their all to create one last opening, in a last-ditch attempt to try and save the Cyrene who was with them at the final battle. The Cyrene who accompanied Caelus across time and place on an impossible journey to save Amphoreus. The Cyrene they know, remember, and love. The Cyrene they won’t just leave behind.
With a rope of Remembrance, slung across time, held tight with resolve and focus, they held out a lifeline, for Cyrene to hopefully be able to find, grab hold of, and hold tight.
‘This is it!’, March yelled, beads of sweat on her focused forehead, ‘I can’t hold it any longer! I have to reel it back in!’ Her brow was tight in concentration, uncertainty, hope, and fear in her candy eyes.
Caelus watched, tense. Please… let this work. She deserves so much better than the ending fate left for her.
With a yell, March pulled the rope back in, and in a blinding flash, everything was white.
…
On the floor of the Express, sat a beautiful pink-haired girl, with multicolored eyes full of life, despite everything. Dazed, confused, exhausted, but alive.
Here.
In the present.
With the companions she always dreamed to have.
