Nobody cares about a dead body

Summary:
After being rejected by her family Nika lives her life half dead, not because of her zombie state but because the idea of loving or feeling loved again feels unreal.
That remains true until she meets a bunch of crazy teenagers who whether she wants it or not make her believe in that nonsensical concept of family once again.
Meanwhile she also has to come to terms with her feelings about her relationship with a certain vampire which she claims not to love.
