Work Text:

Morrissey lowered the pen he had been holding, watching as the ink spilled onto the paper in small black blotches.

Johnny looked up from where he had been strumming his guitar, searching for a riff that felt right. He noticed Morrissey's disinterested expression as the other man regarded whatever song lyric he had been working on.

"Nothing coming?" Johnny asked lightly, tilting his head as Morrissey's gaze snapped up to meet his. Morrissey held his gaze for a little while, intently, as if he was searching for something. Johnny didn't move.

"No." Morrissey finally answered with a sigh. He looked down at the floor. Both he and Johnny were sat on the carpet of the room Johnny had been renting, during the mild heat of a summer day. It was no surprise to either of them that they were inside and working, rather than outside in the sun.

"Maybe a break'd be good." Johnny said, letting his guitar rest on his crossed legs. He smiled as he watched a look of confusion and amusement dance across Morrissey's face.

"Since when did you suggest taking breaks?" Morrissey mused, leaning back on his arm as his gaze once again regarded Johnny in an almost lazy manner. Truthfully enough, Johnny was often the one to push himself and work through any gaps in creativity until something sparked.

"I dunno." Johnny laughed a little. He copied Morrissey's relaxed posture, leaning back on one arm and looking over the other man with a smile. Morrissey's expression softened as he did this.

"Perhaps we need something to inspire." Morrissey suggested slowly. His gaze seemed to intensify again as he held Johnny's, and this time he didn't look away towards the floor. Johnny raised an eyebrow slightly.

"You look like you have somethin' in mind." Johnny stated, something akin to mischievousness flickering in his eye as he unfolded his lap and slid his legs out in front of him. They almost touched Morrissey's thigh.

Morrissey smirked. He tilted his head lower for a moment, his voice dropping to a whisper. "Maybe if you come closer, I'll tell you."

Johnny held his gaze for a second, then resigned himself to obey Morrissey's words. He crawled over to the other man, leaving his guitar where he had been sat, and settled right beside him.

Morrissey rested a hand on Johnny's thigh, giving him a gentle squeeze. "People are always motivated by affection, don't you think?" He purred quietly. He turned his face so he could look at Johnny properly.

"Maybe so." Johnny looked down at Morrissey's hand, and then back to his sly expression. He brought a hand up to cup his chin, feeling the other man tense slightly at the touch.

Morrissey smiled again, and simply waited with practised patience as Johnny caressed his jaw at first, then his cheek. His gaze flicked down to Johnny's lips, which were parted slightly from interest.

Johnny did the same to Morrissey, and soon they had both leaned in considerably. Johnny could feel Morrissey's warm and gentle breath against his mouth.

Morrissey squeezed Johnny's thigh again. "Kiss me." He mumbled. He no longer felt the need to dance around what they both really wanted.

Johnny brushed a thumb across Morrissey's cheek, and then closed the distance between them and pressed his lips against Morrissey's mouth.

Morrissey tilted his head to guide their kiss as his hand slid a little higher up Johnny's leg. Johnny made a small sound that was swallowed into the kiss, as he adjusted himself accordingly and angled his body towards Morrissey.

Johnny's free hand came up to rest on Morrissey's shoulder, pulling him closer as their first kiss was quickly replaced by a second, and then a third. Soon enough, Morrissey was straddling Johnny's legs, bent over him with his knees either side and nose brushing Johnny's as they parted for a gasp of air between kisses.

Johnny allowed himself to lean back onto the floor, holding onto Morrissey's shoulders as he smirked up at the other man. Morrissey hummed. With a smirk of his own, he placed his hands on the carpet to steady himself, and leaned down to kiss Johnny again.

Johnny brought his legs up so his knees could brush Morrissey's sides as they exchanged a few more kisses.

When their lips broke apart after what felt like an hour of pure bliss, Johnny brushed his fingers through Morrissey's hair and dropped his voice to a whisper. "I'm feeling very inspired."

"As am I." Morrissey replied softly, and within seconds they were back in each others arms, the guitar and lyrics momentarily forgotten.
