Work Text:
Shinonome Akito is good at many things. School is not one of them.
For reasons entirely unrelated to his tendency to nap during class, Akito and academics are, to put it lightly, incompatible. His brain simply cannot comprehend concepts beyond basic common sense.
Besides, why would he bother studying or doing homework when he could use that time to do literally anything else instead? If it were up to Akito, he wouldn’t even bother trying academically.
Unfortunately, he has other weaknesses.
“Akito, have you completed the front page of your assignment?”
Akito stares down at his blank worksheet, not so subtly avoiding his partner’s eyes. “I’m… uh… still working on it…”
Touya had insisted that Akito study for an upcoming exam that the latter definitely didn’t forget. And, because Akito would rather die than say no to Touya, he begrudgingly agreed to this platonic ‘study date.' Now, the two were in Akito’s room—Akito hunched over in his chair, Touya perched atop his bed—doing quite possibly the worst hangout activity in the entire world. Studying.
Noticing Akito’s distraction, Touya sighs: It’s a sound that never fails to make Akito want to kill himself. “Akito, please, stay focused, I can’t help you if you don’t try.”
“Yeah, yeah, I got it,” he grumbles, gaze still trained on his paper. However, the hand holding his pencil remains frozen, and the other has a fistful of his own hair, like it’s trying to rack his brain for answers physically.
Akito hears Touya close his book and, fuck, is his frustration that palpable? Then, he hears the bed creak, followed by muffled footsteps as his partner pads across the room.
Akito’s never felt more mortified as Touya peers down at his pitiful work, or lack thereof.
Touya is silent for a moment.
“You haven’t made any progress,” Touya says finally. To Akito’s disbelief, he doesn’t sound exasperated. Instead, he speaks plainly, simply stating the obvious, and it makes Akito wonder if he’s talking to himself.
His hypothesis is verified as Touya continues, voice contemplative. “I think… Akito would benefit from another approach,” he mumbles.
“Huh?”
Before Akito can try guessing whatever the hell that means, Touya steps out from behind the chair, now facing Akito. After years of knowing Touya, Akito can immediately recognize the unyielding determination in his gaze.
He swallows nervously. He knows better than anyone how stubborn Touya can be. It doesn’t matter if he’s got no clue what Touya’s planning: Akito’s fate is already sealed.
Despite his resignation, Akito is hardly prepared for Touya to suddenly hook a leg up, effectively straddling him.
A low, strangled sound is torn from Akito’s throat. He recovers quickly from his initial shock, hands moving to Touya’s thin waist, steadying the boy shifting in his lap. What the hell, sure. He’ll never miss an opportunity to have his partner all over him.
So, Akito doesn’t protest as his chin is lifted by slender, calloused fingers. The test review lying on the table is completely forgotten once Touya forces him to meet his eyes.
He forgets everything else as Touya’s lips brush against his own.
Ever the opportunist, Akito responds fervently, surging forward to capture his partner’s lips.
Touya’s lips are soft, yet he reciprocates with an intense precision. He complements Akito’s rough, desperate movements so well that it makes Akito feel dizzy with want.
Distantly, he decides that two people can be made for each other—he can’t think of another explanation for why they slot perfectly together.
It doesn’t take long for the kiss to deepen: Touya parts his lips deliberately, and Akito eagerly accepts the invitation. He absentmindedly tightens his hold on Touya’s waist, lapping into his partner’s mouth. Touya sighs once their tongues languidly slide together and holy fuck, Akito thinks he might actually just die.
It’s fine, death is worth getting to shove his tongue down Touya’s throat. There’s something about kissing Touya that drives him insane. Maybe it’s his white musk cologne that Akito’s addicted to. Maybe it’s the taste of bitter coffee that lingers on his tongue. Or maybe it’s just the knowledge that this is Touya, his partner, whom he gets to make out with.
Whatever it is, Akito’s obsessed with it.
Heart pounding, Akito breaks the kiss, wanting to pause and admire his partner’s euphoric state. He regrets this decision upon actually seeing him.
As expected, Touya looks totally blissed out. His eyes are hazy, his uniform is rumpled, and, most dangerously, his lips are still parted with his breathing labored. His disheveled state makes Akito’s head spin with something other than pure attraction. Touya’s always more beautiful when he’s vulnerable.
For some reason, acknowledging this fact makes Akito’s heart ache with a feeling he’s afraid to identify.
He averts his eyes to avoid those more complicated emotions, glancing down instead.
Perhaps that was his second mistake. One glimpse of his partner’s pale neck is enough to have him practically drooling.
Touya follows his line of sight, mouth curving into a knowing smile. “Go ahead,” he hums, amused. When Akito hesitates, Touya tilts his head back, urging him silently as well.
Akito takes the hint.
He pecks Touya’s lips, muttering a quick thanks before moving to trail open-mouthed kisses down his throat. Simultaneously, he releases his hold on Touya’s waist, snaking a hand upwards to unfasten the first button of Touya’s uniform. After fumbling with his partner’s collar, Akito uncovers a patch of his tender skin.
He leans in, teeth grazing Touya’s now-accessible collarbone, and nibbles lightly at a spot of unmarred skin just above his clavicle. Without warning, he bites down, sucking a mark into smooth skin. The feeling of Touya shuddering beneath his lips makes his heart skip a beat.
Akito doesn’t give Touya any time to recover, moving to repeat the process elsewhere. By the time Akito pulls away, Touya’s neck is covered in bruises of varying degrees.
Akito’s face is impossibly red as he surveys the damage he inflicted. For the millionth time, he finds himself immensely grateful for Touya’s love of turtlenecks.
Fuck.
Akito forces himself to stop ogling the hickeys he left; otherwise, it’ll be impossible for him to calm down. It’s probably pathetic that he’s this flustered from a brief makeout session, but Akito’s not really thinking critically about anything right now. All he can focus on is his insanely hot partner and lack of satisfaction.
He’s about to ask if they can take things further when Touya unexpectedly hops off his lap.
“Dude, what—?”
All the excitement drains from his body once he realizes what Touya’s retrieving.
Akito gapes at his partner. No fucking way. He cannot be serious right now.
“You cannot be serious right now,” he says aloud.
He remains dumbstruck as Touya presents his neglected assignment.
Although Touya’s legs are trembling, he speaks calmly, “Ah, let’s see, the first problem—“
“No, no, hold on." Akito raises a shaky palm, still reeling. "Are you seriously going to make me study right now? As in, like, school?”
Touya seems confused by the question. “Yes?”
“After, uh, all that?”
Touya blinks slowly. “…Yes?” he repeats. “It’s important for Akito to take breaks if he feels stuck. That way, he can return to his work with a renewed mindset.”
“Positive reinforcement can also be helpful,” Touya resumes, oblivious to Akito’s bewilderment. "So, we can continue once this worksheet is completed.”
Akito grits his teeth, grumbling as he reaches for his discarded pencil, but he doesn't protest. His desire to please Touya is somehow stronger than his aversion to schoolwork.
He’s in for a long afternoon.
