It was another normal day for Class B, scholarship student, Jeon Wonwoo. He never really talked— He enjoyed peace and quiet, Didn't have any friends except for Lee Jihoon who is also a full scholarship student. Being a at Pledis highschool or known as THE private school— The one where the children of wealthy, important people go to. He remembers his first day of school very clearly. It was completely overwhelming seeing the school campus and building, the library but most importantly— The students.
Pledis highschool students are mostly girls— a lot of them spend all their money on makeup and their time to impress boys. No worries, The boys aren't any better. All they do is exercise or play games all day! They have privilege, money— meanwhile, Wonwoo doesn't have any money. Most Outsiders see an invisible, quiet student who sits in the back of lectures. They never saw the amount of stress he had trying to keep up with all the work—group projects, homeworks and money problems at home, etc. He has always been a straight A student. The students don't care anyway, Why do they need to care when they can pay the teachers to give them good grades instead?

One day at lunch when he was eating with Jihoon when he sensed a commotion
"whats the commotion for " Wonwoo asked
Jihoon looked up from his rice and looked at the group of girls squeeling to no other than
"Kim Mingyu"Jihoon answered then continued to eat his rice
"oh."Wonwoo said softly with his usual calm voice
Kim Mingyu.
Class A Kim Mingyu. That man not only captures the attention of half the girls of Pledis highschool from his looks.But Hes also class president and is friends with everyone from his class,Even the teachers adore him—even if he got mid grades at least he still tried.Even though he could have almost every girl in the school he never dated or had an open relationship before—even if he gets 20 love confessions on valentines day.
Wonwoo knew him. He's popular and all. The girls in his class would walk to class A just to get a glimse of him. After returning to class B they would talk about him and giggle so loud that Wonwoo can hear it from the back of the class—But he didn't care he just put on his earbuds, open his laufey playlist and move on.He never thought they would talk.The universe has different plans.

One day then he was studying in the school library as usual, It was empty and quiet there, perfect for wonwoo. Until someone came in,It was Yoon jeonghan a guy in his class.At first Wonwoo didn't see him—He was too focused doing homework until Jeonghan pulled out a seat next to him.
"hi" Jeonghan said cheerfully
Wonwoo looked up slowly from his homework
Jeonghan smiled at him
"I always see you sitting quietly at the back of class"
"its cool"

Wonwoo thought he was far from cool
"cool?"
Jeonghan laughed
"yeah,cool.You get good grades too you should tutor me sometimes"
"Let's be friends"
"friends?" Wowoo looked at Jeonghan. Confused.
Jeonghan took his hand and shook it

They exchanged numbers then Jeonghan left to see his boyfriend leaving Wonwoo confused

The only friend he had before was Jihoon

Things at school had been better, great actually. After Jeonghan became his friend he started hanging out with him and his boyfriend Seungcheol. Who was a grade above them. Often—He also introduced Jihoon to them which turned out great because Seungcheol was very friendly with him.
One thing Wonwoo noticed that Jeonghan and Seungcheol seem to love each other very much, like a married couple. Seungcheol would show Jeonghan affection and Jeonghan looked very happy
—I wonder if I can find love like this—Wonwoo thought after seeing Seungcheol make the biggest smile because he made a joke that made Jeonghan laugh

One day when they were eating lunch together, They were in the middle of talking about something until Jeonghan asked
"Have you guys ever thought of getting into a relationship?" Jeonghan asked curiously
Seungcheol laughed softly at his boyfriend
"No" Jihoon and Wonwoo said at the same time, which made Jeonghan and Seungcheol laugh together like parents seeing their kids saying no to something
"Really? Jihoon.I saw Soonyoung looking at you many times in the hallway" Seungcheol said while Jeonghan hugged his arm
Jihoon blinked confusedly
"Soonyoung? The chaotic one that everyone adores?"
Jihoon said while trying to process what he heared
Jeonghan then slowly turned to Wonwoo while still hugging Seungcheol's arm
"Oh, Also Mingyu likes to stare at you for some reason" He said while trying to hold a laugh seeing Wonwoo freeze

While Jihoon and Wonwoo were completly confused, Jeonghan and Seungcheol were acting normal as usual—like they didn't drop the biggest bomb on Wonwoo and Jihoon

Before class Wonwoo went to grab some stuff from his locker when someone bumped into
him
"sorry" the boy said to Wonwoo
Wonwoo looked up slowly
And realized the guy who just bumped into him was no other than the Kim Mingyu
"are you okay?"he asked
"im okay"Wonwoo said quietly
"Wonwoo right?"He asked
Wonwoo nodded
Mingyu smiled, a fond one
"see you around"
Then he left, leaving Wonwoo stunned

Next class is biology,In the classroom Wonwoo slowly walked to the back as usual,When the teacher came in Wonwoo noticed his face looked serious, So serious that the whole atmosphere of the classroom changed, students stopped talking, people stopped being loud.
"The school is trying to explore a new academic way to make students improve and socialize" The teacher
"Socialize" shit Wonwoo thought to himself
"so we are going to be doing a project" the teacher said "75% of your grade" shit Wonwoo thought to himself again
"And we will be doing the project in pairs with students from class A"
The mixed reactions came immediately some were happy, some were sad, some were exited
"does that mean I have a chance to be paired up with Mingyu?" one girl whispered to her friend, which was loud enough to make all the girls in his class exited
The teacher eventually calmed the girls down and made the whole class exited
eventually the teacher calmed them down and told them in a few minutes Class A would be joining them to finalize the pairs.
Wonwoo doesn't like group projects at all, he would usually say a word or two and do the whole project himself because no one seemed to care.But what if this time he got paired with someone that actually helps him, has actually responsibility. But he snapped out of his thoughts when he heard the door open, When class A settled into leftover seats, The teacher pulled out two boxes one purple one green.
"one box has the names of class B, one for class A. I will pull up two names from each box, those two will be paired together"
So it started.
The first pairs were Dongmin and Donghyun, Donghyun smiled at Dongmin.Dongmin made a small smile back.
Next were Jun and Minghao who's hands were already linked together smiling like it was fate. Wonwoo had no problem to tell their dating
The next pair were Emi and Bonnie,They looked at eachother and smiled
Many pairs later,People were a mix of emotions
until
"Kim Mingyu"
The whole room paused,
Girls were suddenly interested
slowly the teacher drew a paper from the other box
"Jeon Wonwoo"
Girls sighed
Heads were turned
whispers started
Wonwoo is a hundred percent sure he heard someone said "who is he?"
But what suprised him more is Mingyu's reaction, instead of disappointment he simply smiled to Wonwoo
Jihoon (he got paired with Soonyoung) who was sitting next to Wonwoo said
"we both gotta deal with an energetic person as introverts" which made Wonwoo laugh
Maybe this project won't be so bad after all.

After school when Wonwoo was packing up to go home, Some girls cornered him, the anger visible in their faces
"how did you get paired with Mingyu" one girl said
Wonwoo simply said "what?" which made the girls more frustrated for some reason
"It's not fair, you get to be paired with Mingyu and we got to be paired with some nobody!"
"well thats not my problem" Wonwoo responded calmly
"Hey! Watch your mouth you idiot" one of the girls said
One after another they started throwing swear words at Wonwoo
until a voice cut in-"stop it" it was Mingyu But instead of the cheeful voice,this time it was cold, layered with protectiveness. Suddenly everyone was intrested. Mingyu slowly walked to the girls, creating a wall between Wonwoo and the girls, Everyone was watching now, Mingyu was visibly angry,which suprised everyone because he never got mad before.
"Why did you say that" he said trying to keep his calm
"i-it's a joke" one of the girl said trying to form a sentence
"a joke. Why did Wonwoo look uncomfortable" he shot back
Wonwoo who was listening felt touched. He never saw someone defend and protect him like that. Then Mingyu quickly grabbed his hand.
"Grab your bag Wonwoo-ah" he said while smilling like he didn't just defend him infront of two classes.
Wonwoo quickly grabbed his bag, when they went out of the class. Mingyu suddenly realized he was holding Wonwoo's hands, he quickly pulled back ears red
"I'm sorry" he muttered while quickly turning to a tomato
I simply just smiled "It's okay, I also want to thank you for defending me, it really made my day"
Mingyu smiled "I'm glad"
Then he walked away waving at Wonwoo.
Wonwoo's heart fluttered
"snap out of it"he muttered

When Wonwoo came home, He quickly swiched to his shorts and a hoodie.He cooked his favorite instant noodles, and he started watching the thai GL "23.5" it's really good, the main character kinda reminds him of himself. inroverted, awkward, wearing thick glasses all that stuff. Suddenly his phone gets a notification "who could that be" Wonwoo thought frowning. He checks the notification, it's from a random number.

Wonwoo stared at the message, he quickly changed Mingyu's contact name and replied:
Yes,This is Wonwoo.
The reply came in an instant
Mingyu
:Ok! I just wanted your number to talk about the group project
Wonwoo replied with an : ok.
Wonwoo looked up from his phone and sighed—he doesn't wanna socialize with anybody AND he got paired up with the golden retreiver of the school
"this is going to be tiring" he thought, eating the rest of his instant noodles

Before bed, he was scrolling on instagram when the groupchat consisting with him, Jihoon, Seungcheol and Jeonghan. Starts texting eachother.Wonwoo naturally read the conversation until Seungcheol asked him:

Wonwoo closes his phone. He starts calculating—If he and Mingyu start the project tomorrow, they will have a good start because the project requires growing a plant in a lab, making slides and presenting, it is due in three months, so if Wonwoo and Mingyu start doing it now, they won't have to fight other people to work in the lab because students at this school loves procrastinating, so they will definitely start the project one month before the presentation.
He pulled out his phone again and quickly messaged Mingyu
Wonwoo: Mingyu are you free tomorrow? I want to start the project faster than anyone does so we can have an emtpy lab and focus on our presentation
Mingyu:I'm free tomorrow at period six, if I remember I think your free too right?
Mingyu: also u don't need to type so formal with me
Mingyu: It's kinda scary
Wonwoo:ok we can start at period six then, meet me at the lab

Period six came
Wonwoo came immediently on time and started preparing the experiment. For five minutes, Wonwoo worked in silence which he liked. He was reaching for a jar in a high shelf that he can't reach—out of nowhere Mingyu suddenly appeared behind him.
"Hi Wonwoo!" He said cheerfully
Wonwoo nearly jumped, he slipped, he almost fell on the floor until he felt warm hands catch him on his waist. He opened his eyes and saw Mingyu's face, close to him, looking worried. When Mingyu realized what he was doing his face turned red. Wonwoo quickly got up.
"Are you okay?" Mingyu asked worried
"I'm fine" Wonwoo said quietly with his usual calm voice
"so should we get started on the experiement" Wonwoo said
Mingyu simply nodded
They worked on the project for one hour and they got a lot of progress
“I think that’s enough for today,I’ll check the plant tomorrow too” Wonwoo said
“I’ll do it” Mingyu said
Wonwoo gave him a confused look
Mingyu smiled “You did most of the work.Rest, I’ll check up on the plant tomorrow”
No one ever took care of Wonwoo like that.
“Thank you” He whispered
Mingyu smiled, A real one.

Today, Wonwoo was at Jeonghan's apartment doing a project with him and Jihoon. Everything was peaceful until Jeonghan suddenly brought up the biology project.
"How has your biology project been going, me and Jake are going to start planting the seed tomorrow"
"we started two days ago" Wonwoo said
"Me and Soonyoung got some progress, He's doing the slides and I'm doing the plant"
Jihoon replied
"That's good" Jeonghan said
"Also Wonwoo can you explain the context of why Mingyu looked like he wanted to kill someone when he saw you with some girls"
Wonwoo instantly freezes
"uh it's nothing" Wonwoo said trying to sound convincing
"It doesn't look like nothing" Jeonghan shot back
after rentless begging and teasing Wonwoo finally gave in.
He told them everything, The swearing, The girls, Mingyu etc.
Jeonghan and Jihoon listened quietly.
After Wonwoo finished talking—Jeonghan suddenly smiled
"It shows that he cares for you"
Wonwoo made a confused face
"It's true" Jihoon said "I don't see him acting like that for everyone"
Wonwoo quickly anounced "Lets just continue the project" before he gets hit up with more questions
Eventually, They finally finished the project and submitted it to the teacher. They were planning to order takeout but suddenly—someone rang the doorbell, Jeonghan got up to get it. When he opened the door, he looked happy. Outside the door was Seungcheol and Mingyu both holding takeout bags.
"Cheol? What are you doing here?" Jeonghan said confusingly
"Well I came to surprise you with your favorite food, So I bought Mingyu as a friend" Cheol said while smiling at Jeonghan
"Come on in" Jihoon shouted at the end of the room
Seungcheol and Mingyu came in.
Now they were sitting at the floor eating Jeonghan's favorite tteokbokki.
When they were done eating, Seungcheol, Jeonghan and Jihoon volunteered to take out the trash leaving Mingyu and Wonwoo alone.
The awkward silence was uncomfortable.
"so, hows the plant been doing" Wonwoo blurted out
"Oh! I forgot to send you the information, I'll send you it right now" Mingyu said
Mingyu looked at Wonwoo and froze—he was smiling at his phone, Gold rays of the sun shining on him, The crinkle on his eyes, The srunch of his nose. Mingyu thought he saw an angel. Then Wonwoo slowly looked back
"Is everything okay?" He asked curiously in this cat-like way. His head was tilted to look like a curious cat, His big wide eyes sparkled.
'You are just so fucking cute' Mingyu thought—"I'm okay, I'm just tired" He muttered trying to keep his cool.
Wonwoo then suddenly remembered"Oh, You were going to send me the information right? I'll do the slides right now" He picked up his laptop and started working on the slides—Mingyu watched him do the work, the way he was so focused made him kinda cute—Until Jeonghan, Seungcheol and Jihoon came back. Jihoon grabbed his backpack.
"I'll get going now, My brother is going to pick me up"
Wonwoo stood up "I'll walk home"
Mingyu frowned "Let me walk with you, It's dark outside"
Wonwoo looked confused "Are you sure?"
Mingyu—who was already grabbing his bag replied with "Yes, let's go"
They stepped out the apartment building.
They walked. The silence was comfortable. When they reached the front of Wonwoo's house, Mingyu finally gathered the courage to ask Wonwoo for his instagram, Wonwoo didn't think much of it—He just simply gave him his Instagram.

Wonwoo finally closed the door of his home, After a long day he's finally alone. His parents are on a business trip—they always go on business trips, Wonwoo got used to it. His sister—Film is now in a different city living with her girlfriend, Namtan. So usually Wonwoo spends the day at his house alone, His sister usually texts him and gives him updates about her life, She looks happy—Wonwoo wished he could find a lover too. But that has to wait. Right now, he should focus on studying and keeping his good grades. He sighs—tomorrow is saturday and he doesn't have any plans, He was planning to binge watch another Thai series at home, until he gets a notification from his sister.
Film: Wonwoooooo, I'm visiting home with Namtan and some of my friends on Sunday, Wanna have dinner with us? I'd love to meet u
Wonwoo thought about it for a second—He was free on that day anyway BUT he hates socializing, his sister is finally in town so he should maybe go and meet her.

Sunday came too fast—Before Wonwoo knew what was happening, He was seated in a quiet and small cafe. Across from him were His sister and some of her friends. They were nice and introduced themselves.
If Wonwoo remembered, there was his sister's girlfriend Namtan, Her friends Mim and View. Mim and View are also dating.
"So, How are you?" Film said while sipping her matcha
"I'm fine, As usual" Wonwoo muttered drinking his coffee
Film looked at her friends and then stopped drinking
"Are you sure, No new things?"
"Well I've made a few friends" Wonwoo replied
Film raised her eyebrows "Really?, What are their names"
Wonwoo slowly opened his phone and showed them a picture of them together that Jeonghan sent in the group chat.
"So this is Seungcheol"
"Hes Jeonghan"
"Oh thats Mingyu"
"Hes Jihoon, He was my friend since my first year"
The girls listened to him and nodded approvingly—Like Wonwoo was their little brother.
Namtan smiled mischievously and looked at the girls—Then Wonwoo "so....what about romantic relationships"
Wonwoo almost choked on his drink
"No! I'm not in a relationship right now" He quickly said
"Are you sure?" View asked teasingly which made Mim laugh "Don't tease him" she said while smiling at her girlfriend
Wonwoo fought back "I'm sure"
Film smiled at Wonwoo "If you start dating someone tell me ok? I have great relationship adivce"
"I'd rather not" Wonwoo muttered—Which made the whole table laugh.
They talked for a while. It feels nice talking with his sister again.
An hour passed.
Namtan looked at the clock
"Guys we should go now"
Film checked her watch "We should actually, I'm paying.No buts and Wonwoo we are sending you home"

After the girls dropped him off, His phone recieves a notification. His sister posted a photo of him and tagged him. But it wasn't any original photo, It was a photo of Wonwoo in the cafe—drinking his coffee in a cute way, he was smiling, looking at the coffee amd doing that cute thing when hes happy. The text written on the photo: "@everyone_woo 🤏"
He messaged his sister

Wonwoo: I am not posting this on my story
Film: You will, Do u want me to tell ur embarassing stories to the girls?
Wonwoo: You won't right
Film: I will

Wonwoo went to instagram and posted Film's story on his

Film: Good.
Well fuck this. Because of his sister's blackmailing, His friends suddenly exploded the group chat just to laugh and endlessly tease him about the photo

Wonwoo doesn't know how he got into this situation. He is currently surrounded by girls in class A & B and for some reason looked like they wanted to kill him.
"How did you get paired with Mingyu" A girl—Minseo maybe? Yelled
Wonwoo slowly looked up, Unfazed "I don't know" Which made the girls more mad
"Hey! Answer the question you bitch!" Another girl yelled
Wonwoo looked at her too "Not worth my time."
For some reason this triggered all the girls, Swear words were being thrown everywhere, Everyone was watching. Wonwoo was planning to dissapear right there—Until a voice interrupted
"Can you girls stop?" A guy yelled, There was no anger but it made the girls stop.
"I'm sorry!" One of the girls yelled out, Then ran away. The others girls slowly ran away too—avoiding humiliation.
After all the girls ran away, Wonwoo was finally able to get a sight of him. He wasn't tall but had an calm aura radiating, His eyes are like a deer and he looks liks hes in the same grade as him.
"Are you ok?" he asked Wonwoo
"I'm fine, Thank you for standing up for me." He muttered
The boy laughed "No problem, You are Wonwoo right? I'm Joshua or you could call me Shua. I'm in class A. Hope we can be friends" He said while smiling, "Sure" Wonwoo replied shyly, Which made Joshua smile more.
"Oh its almost time for class now I got to go" Joshua said while looking at his watch
"See you later" he yelled while walking away.

Jihoon and Jeonghan were sitting in the back of the class listening to Wonwoo telling them what happened with Joshua
Ohhhhhh Joshua, the guy I got paired with in the bio project" Jeonghan said cheerfully.
"Wait hes gay" Jihoon asked
"Yeah, His boyfriend is Seokmin. Hes a grade under us. He should all hangout together " Jeonghan suggested
Wonwoo and Jihoon looked at eachother—Jeonghan stared judging both of them.
"Hey! Seokmin and Joshua are nice people" Jeonghan said
"sure then we can hangout with them" Jihoon said
Jeonghan's face brightened instantly.
This is going to be tiring Wonwoo thought to himself.

The hangout with Joshua and Seokmin that Jeonghan arraged was fun. It was at a small quiet cafe, where people go to take a break from life. They were super nice, Wonwoo actually had a good time, They also brought Seungkwan and Vernon too. They weren't a couple but everyone knows they like eachother. They got to know eachother and talked about a lot of stuff, Like how Seokmin's little brother—Lee Chan, had the biggest crush on a girl named Emi in Wonwoo's class only to be heart broken when he found out that she was dating Bonnie, A girl in class A. Or how Vernon's bestfriend, Minghao is dating Jun from another class, Which leads to Jun clinging to Minghao when they hangout. Which is cute.
Wonwoo also told his own stories, Jihoon did too. Overall they had a good time. Before they left the cafe, all of them got eachothers number and instagram so they could talk in the future. Wonwoo can't believe he found new friends. Maybe this year wouldn't be so bad.
