Veternarian’s Office

Summary:

Now that the kitten is settled in with the clowder, Prowl is introducing Bluestreak to their two most important allies.

Work Text:

“This way, Bluestreak.” Prowl turned down an alley and Bluestreak hurried to follow. It was a little nicer than the others in the territory that the clowder claimed, and one door had a nice looking crate sitting by the door. The crate had words on it, but Bluestreak couldn’t read human words, so he didn’t know what it said. “You must meet another of our allies, in case you should be injured.”

“Okay.”

They stopped in front of the door with the crate, and Bluestreak could see the padded bottom and fluffy blanket inside it. That made him curious, but maybe he could ask later.

Prowl yowled at the door, one long loud call and then two short ones. After a second, he was answered by another cat from inside the building. Another few seconds passed, and then the door swung open and the smell of veternarian’s office wafted out into the alley.

A human in a long white coat over purple clothes looked down at them. Then a white and rust red cat pushed himself between the human’s feet. The cat mewed a greeting as the human stepped into the alley.

“Well, hello there handsome.” The human reached down and petted Prowl on the head. “It’s a little early for your checkup, you’re not sick are you?”

Prowl purred at the human and butted his head agianst their hand. “This is Doctor Vanessa, she cares for any animal if they are hurt or sick. And–”

“And I’m Ratchet,” the white and rust cat said, joining them in the alley. He butted his head into Bluestreak’s gently and meowed to get the human’s attention. “If you’re hurt, you come here and call me the way Prowl just did. I’ll make sure Vanessa comes to get you.”

“Okay.” Bluestreak replied. “I’m Bluestreak, I used to live on the hill.”

“It’s nice to meet you, Bluestreak.” Ratchet headbutted him again before moving to greet Prowl.

The human turned to him with a smile. “Well hi there, kitten! Is this your dad? He could be, you know. You’ve got the exact same markings.”

Bluestreak mewed in surprise as the human picked him up and cuddled him to their chest.

“Well, we’ll just assume yes, because I am not running that test, unless one of you develops some genetic anomaly.” She kept chatting as she turned back to the office. “Come on, boys. Checkup for both of you, and then some good food before you go back out there to scraps from the deli. And we’re trimming off these long paw hairs, too, cause I don’t want to try and treat pad infections in a stray.”

Prowl mewed back at him encouragingly as he and Ratchet followed the doctor back inside. Bluestreak let himself relax into the petting, even if he knew he couldn’t have it forever.
