Sparring practice

Summary:

Sheloran and Talea being cute.

Work Text:

Sheloran could hear her heartbeat thrumming loudly in her chest. She used her metal fan to block the sword and twisted her opponent’s arm. But that did not deter the opponent. The move lit a spark in the brunette sword fighter’s eyes as she renewed her charge on Sheloran.

Sheloran had to back away as the sword slashed at her but used her fan to stop any damage to her person. They were exchanging blows with the sword and the metal fan, rotating around the space, almost dancing. Her opponent was not wearing much; there was no need for modesty here. Sheloran could see the dark, strong legs – steady and poised to strike.

As exciting as this was, Sheloran did not want to do this all day. She needed to get rid of that sword. Looking for an opening, Sheloran spun her body, got low, and hit her fan at the back of her opponent’s knee, causing her to stumble. Which was the perfect opportunity to kick the sword out of her hand.

But at that exact moment, Sheloran felt a tight grip on her arm before they both tumbled to the ground.

“Oh, I’m sorry! Are you okay?” Sheloran heard.

“Talea, I knocked the sword out of your hand, don’t apologize to me!” Sheloran said, rolling her eyes.

“Okay, never mind. But are you hurt?” Talea said as she shifted to a more comfortable position sitting on Sheloran’s waist.

“Only in that it’s been far too long since I’ve kissed you.” Talea leaned down so they were pressed against each other, and they kissed. Gentle and sweet and taking their time.

After a few moments they broke apart and Sheloran asked “Are you okay? I didn’t mean to cause quite that big of a stumble.”

Talea, just an inch from Sheloran’s face, smiled and kissed Sheloran on the nose. “Yes, I’m physically okay even though my pride is a little hurt.”

Sheloran laughed, “you beat me last time, so it was my turn. You really are my favorite person to spar with.”

“Is that because of my skill or because you like looking at me?”

“Can it be both?” Sheloran said, crinkling her eyes. “Your arms look amazing when you hold a sword.”

“Yea, it can be both. But only because I like you so much,” Talea said smiling back at Sheloran.

“Sorry to interrupt you straddling my wife, but breakfast is ready,” Galen said from the entryway to the sparring room.

Talea looked over at Galen. “You’re not straddling her and she seemed lonely, so I figured I’d step in.”

All three of them laughed at that. Talea started to get up when Sheloran pulled her back down by her waist.

“Blue,” Sheloran said. “Can you shut the door on your way out? Don’t wait for us for breakfast.”

“Have fun,” Galen said while turning away. “Don’t do anything I wouldn’t do.”

“This is all stuff you wouldn’t do,” Sheloran said while sticking her tongue out at Galen.

When he closed the door, Sheloran shifted and turned, taking Talea with her. Now Talea was the one on her back and Sheloran was on top, pinning Talea’s arms above her head.

“Oh yea? What are you going to do with me?” Talea said, smirking up at Sheloran.

“Anything you want, my love. Anything you want.”
