-Hoodie wasn’t much for approaching people
-He’d rather sit on the sidelines in his time off, and find somewhere quiet he could hide and silently observe the world around him
-The first time he saw you, he didn’t really think much of it
-He saw thousands of people, and it was hard to find someone that stood out
-But that might have been what allured him to you in the first place
-You didn’t seem to be bothered by what those around you said, and it was something he admired
-He would gradually grow more bold, quite literally bumping into you lightly as you would walk down the streets in search of new stores to find and window shop
-You chalked it up as a coincidence, but noted that you saw him more often than not while you were out and about
-He’d often already be at a cafe you’d visit, or strolling through the different sections of the library
-One day you decided to talk to him, and that changed everything
-He never in a million years would have expected you approached him first
-Somehow just being around you brought him peace, and he liked to frequent the locations you went to often anyways
-But that small conversation sparked something in both of you, and decided a bit later to try dating
-He was an amazing boyfriend, the best you’d had, even
-And he took pride in you being his girlfriend
-While he may be a bit more socially anxious than some, he was never more calm then when he was with you…despite his heart often racing when you’d wear something cute or even just look at him affectionately
-He wouldn’t say he was shy, but he often beat himself up over the butterflies in his stomach when you were even just doing every day tasks he’s seen you do all the time
-You’d note how he would silently flare up with irritation if he saw another guy hitting on you, and while he normally wasn’t too fond of PDA, he loved to see the other men squirm when he’d pull you into a kiss
-It was honestly cute to you, and always left you giggling afterwards
-You tried not to tease him, but sometimes it was just too fun
-He paid you back, brushing his fingers along your arm and looking at you in that intense way that made your heart flutter
-But as much as he seemed to like teasing you, he also knew when it wasn’t the time
-He was the best person to have around when you were stressed, or sad for any reason
-If someone bothered you at work, he’d roll his eyes in irritation and joke about how he’d fight them for you
-At least…you thought it was a joke
-It made you fall for him more and more, knowing he was that protective over you that he’d tease like that just to make you feel better
-And over time, he learned exactly how to help you in any situation
-He didn’t know much about cars, but intentionally started learning in the SLIM chance that yours would break down or cause any issues
-Even after you were together for over a year, he still did anything in his power to make you feel safe and cherished
-You’re on your period? He’s already at your door with any drinks and snacks you could possibly want, and bringing heating pads and ice packs for anywhere that might be sore
-Even after long days of work, you loved meeting up with him
-He’d treat you to dinner if you wanted to go out, or rub your feet if you just wanted to rest at home with a movie going
-He seemed to know everything about you, and you enjoyed finding out anything you could about him just as much
-He was usually relatively quiet, and didn’t openly talk about himself unless you asked
-At first he’d be hesitant, but after a while in the relationship he was much more open
-While he wouldn’t talk about himself on his own, his heart raced when he realized you wanted to know more about him
-There were very few things he wouldn’t tell you…at least not for a good several years in the relationship
-There would always be the question in his mind of what you may do if you found out he was dangerous
-Would you feel comforted? Or would you be disturbed
-He’d lay out little hints here and there, but it was clear you didn’t fully pick up on them
-Regardless, he knew he couldn’t let you go if you never wanted to see him again
-The lines of what was right and wrong in his mind were blurred, a product of having to carry out kills throughout most of his adulthood up to this point
-But he would have lost it all to make sure he could stay with you
-While he knew it wasn’t possible, it wouldn’t stop him from trying
-Until he got the courage to work up to it, he’d be content with the way things were in the present
-Although speaking of presents, they were more frequent than you could have ever guessed
-Since he had a key to your apartment, you would often come home with a note saying he couldn’t be around for the day, but to enjoy what he got you
-He’d note when you were out, anything you mentioned wanting or looking cool, and it would only be a short matter of time before it was yours
-There would be silly times, not wanting to make him spend so much money on something
-He’d sit you down on his lap and cradle your cheeks in your hands
-“Tell me what you wanted to buy off the app” It was goofy, but he always looked so serious when you offhandedly mentioned wanting something
-You’d protest, but he knew exactly how to convince you to tell him anything he wanted to know
-It always resulted in you sighing and telling him, but pushed on his chest with a pout, saying it was too expensive
-Money never seemed to be an issue with him, and he seemed pleased above all else when he could get you something
-He may not be able to tell you everything about him, and what he did each night
-But until he could tell you, he was happy to spend as much time as he could with you and give you as much happiness as you brought him
-It may break your heart to find out who he really was, and it would break his if he had to see your frightened expression
-So for now, he’d keep letting you bring out the more positive sides of himself
-And there truly was only one thing he wouldn’t be able to let you have
-And that was a life without him in it
